Author has written 11 stories for Dragon Ball Z. 07/ 09/ 09 So, I guess I had not been active at all in the Dragonball Z section during this summer, save for a few posts in the forums. That's alright with me. I was really busy with my other fandom. Anyway, school will start tomorrow, so there would definitely be no updates until much, much later. I don't know how much later. After I have posted what I want in Fushigi Yuugi, that's when I'll start writing for the DBZ fandom again. I know that I promised Sticks and Stones would be finished by the end of summer 2009, but I guess that was a futile goal. I seem to be doing that more and more often, ne? I assure you, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, hehe. It just happens. I'm in Grade 12 now too this year. That plus work, I'm not sure just how much time I will have to write. I will try to finish off Sticks and Stones by the end of this year. That much I will try. Read More... Anime To be honest, I haven’t watched that many anime, or have read that much manga. I’ve seen a few, and Dragonball Z and Fushigi Yuugi takes the top spots. I don’t really know what it is about those two that I like so much, and I also wonder why because they’re so opposite from each other. For Dragonball Z, I’m pretty sure what attracted me to it is its lack of romance. It makes a lot of room for imagination when writing fanfiction and such. It’s similar with Fushigi Yuugi, I guess. Although that anime is peppered with lovey-dovey doo, my favorite couple has been ripped off of their respective screen time. That, and the fact that it was one-sided, and the significant other justly died for her, makes it such a tragic romance. Perhaps that is why I like it. And that’s what fanfiction is for. Fanfiction I have always loved to write ever since I was little. However, I must admit that I grew and improved by miles by writing fanfiction. I began back in the summer of 2004. I was twelve, and probably one of the worse writers on the site. Definitely not my shining moment, it was back then. To look back at it now, I am quite ashamed of the stories I have written , and wished occassionally that I had waited a few years before I came and wrote on this site. That way, my stuff would not have been an embarrassment. Well anyway, I can’t help but feel contradicted, because in a way I am quite proud of them too. After all, they were my first pieces out in the public. Ah, so… that’s the past. I think I’ve dwelled long enough there. Hehe. One thing that remains constant is my love for Dragonball Z fanfiction! As you can see, all of my stories are written about Gohan and Videl. I guess there’s no need to say that they are my favourite couple of all time! Such sweet and unexpected love… it gets me all the time! Haha. And plus, the oddity of them being a couple is so unique. I mean, there’s Videl, the beautiful tomboy, crime-fighter of the city, and the daughter of the man who stole Gohan’s credits. Who would have thought she would end up with a naïve, handsome half-Saiyan dork, who plays around in a leotard? It’s amusing and surprising all at the same time. I didn’t even see it coming. And that’s what makes them so lovable to me. Plus, the circumstances they had to endure to strengthen their relationships. Gah, it was just plain meant to be! My second favorite couple is Chichi/Goku and Krillin/18 tied. Both of them are such angsty couples. I’m usually in for a cup of cheerful and successful relationship, but a teaspoon of angst can’t hurt. I mean, there’s the whole question of whether Goku really even cared about Chichi, and with much thought, I have to say no. It’s heartbreaking, if you really think about it. Krillin and 18 were a happy couple. The way they started out – that whole one-sided thing- was a bit angsty. And then there’s Suboshi and Yui from Fushigi Yuugi, another victim of one-sided love. Ah. If only she gave him the time of her day. Maybe she would have fallen in love with her warrior too. I mean, come on! He did absolutely everything for her. He dedicated his life, his body, and his soul to her. If that sounds a little creepy, well maybe it is, but it’s something called ‘devotion’. But no… she had to go after a lump of Suzaku just because he’s good looking. So what? Suboshi’s good looking too! Anyway, Suboshi went on ahead, and sacrificed his life for her. A depressing way to end a hollow relationship. You can view my Fushigi Yuugi account here. This is where I upload my FY fanfictions. A couple of groups that I just adore: ~~ SweetestIrony: An abode for all the G/V fans out there. It is filled with contests, discussions, jokes, and much more fun stuff. A great place to go if you have the time. Plus, everyone is really friendly. ~~ Soul's Radiance: Everything Fushigi Yuugi. Got a question from the series, or writing fanfiction, or characters? This is the place for you. There are lots of discussion going around, really in depth analysis of the circumstances and characters. It's a lot of fun as well; this is actually the very first forum I have posted in. It's where I learned the 'forum' ways, and how to talk like I am older than I actually am. Haha! ~~ Hidden Love: A new forum dedicated to my favorite FY couple: Yui/Suboshi. It's just starting out, so I hope that there will be more activities soon. If you're a fan, drop by! My Stories The stories made from the first couple of years I’ve been here has all been deleted. You may see some re-written later on, but for now I’ve laid them to rest. Deleted: ‘What About The Deal’, ‘At The Party’, ‘It Brought Us Together’, ‘Funny How it Happens’, ‘Mystery Lovers’ Stranded: Uhm… being totally rewritten. It had a good plot, and I still think it has potential, but it has been written by a pair of incompetent amateur hands. So, now that I am a slightly better writer I’d be bringing the whole thing down, and re-writing it. It would follow a similar plot, but completely different events would occur. Hm… actually, at that time, this wasn’t a very bad story to me. Sticks and Stones: It was another attempt at a serious fic, because I initially thought that my niche was humour. It still is, but now I think I’m more flexible. There’s lots of things to say about this one. This is actually my third time editing the first chapters because the time when I started it, I was quite… hehe, ‘out there’… and I just readjusted some events so that they won’t seem that weird. Funny thing. Anyway, I really enjoy writing this one, and I will enjoy putting this to rest too. It’s almost been three years, and it really needs to end. I hope I won’t disappoint. The Right Time: A short little one-shot I spurred up on a random summer afternoon. It didn’t take long to write, but I tried to write it as good as I possibly can. Hmm… it’s inspired by a Fushigi Yuugi fic, and hence it is written in second perspective. Not much to say about it that I haven’t already said in the AN there. It’s basically about Gohan pondering his love for Videl. Get Ready: Some of my reviewers wanted a sequel to ‘The Right Time’ in Videl’s point of view. As I didn’t want to repeat the exact same events, I used another. Here, Gohan finds the right time to confess his feelings, and once again gets Videl off guard. Pretty little two pieces, I think. They’re quite nice. And I had fun writing them. Odd perspective though, I’ve been told. Nevertheless, I like the point of view. What You Will: A Dragonball Z spin-off to Shakespeare’s lovely play called ‘Twelfth Night or What You Will’, as well as the Chinese animated love story ‘Butterfly Lovers’. Both had a girl go undercover, but for different means. I had no intention for it to be an imitation of CCS Angel00’s story; I did not know that a story with a similar plot has already been written. Hehe, silly me. Play With Me: It was something I thought up of for SweetestIrony’s first contest. Surprisingly for me, it won first place! I had a hard time writing it and so I didn’t expect much, but fortunately, somehow people liked it. Not much to say about it; I always thought that Gohan’s constant denying of his relationship with Videl might make a negative impact on her. Legend Says: I owe this one to Fushigi Yuugi. If it hadn’t been for Nuriko’s charm and sweetness, giving Miaka those stone dolls, I would never be able to come up with such story. It won second place in the SweetestIrony’s July 2008 contest. I personally like this one much better than my first entry. It had a lot more… substance to it, I guess. Ten Days: After reading a series of fanfiction in the Seiryuu Warriors point of view, I wanted to make an introspective story, mainly focusing on a character’s feelings. This is what I came up with. It’s basically what exactly happened during the ten days of Videl’s flight training at Gohan’s house. I want it to be more than just ‘I felt this, I felt that’ sort of thing, so I’m trying to have at least one deep plot. Whether that be learning how to fly itself, or something else. Don’t Read: My first attempt at having some limey content in a story. It turned out quite good; I liked the whole plot and all, but it still was not as original as I wanted it to be. The bulk of the plot was inspired by an episode in Disney’s Weekenders. Anyway, like this a lot out of all my entries for the contests. I must admit that it’s still my favorite. It won first place tied with another. Family Day: Written for SweetestIrony’s November contest themed ‘Family’. It is based on the Canadian holiday ‘Family Day’, and so this came out. I like it a lot. It placed second place in the month. Hide and Peek: Another entry for November. It is a step outside the box and for the first time, I did not use G/V perspective. Instead, I used Goten’s. It was loads of fun! Really, and the overall mood I had while writing it was similar to writing ‘Don’t Read’. It placed third. Future Works Hehe... I can't believe that I actually keep a little notebook with all my notes and plans for all my stories. I don't know... it seems so... 'schoolish'. Haha! Well, maybe it is, but I think I like keeping it. I've had it for almost three years, and it's fun to see how my mind worked a few years back, with all these crazy ideas. Hopefully, I'd get around to doing all of them. Fushigi Yuugi True or False: (I previously called it 'Opposite Day' under Future Works.) Inspired by Seiryuu Does Fanfics by Mearl Dox. One-shot. Rated T. Humor. If Walls Could Talk... So Could A Bed: Agh... something I thought of randomly.
