Harry Potter

I'm a major Draco/Ginny shipper, who also used to enjoy a little Tom/Ginny from time to time.

HP7 - I didn't like it. Let's face it, everyone knew (even me) that DG was never going to happen in canon, but somehow I was so invested in fandom by then that I had read too many really AWESOME stories by Fanfic authors who made my ship come alive, that I didn't enjoy the real thing when it was published.

I've mentionned that I'm into Draco/Ginny and if you browse my favorites, you may notice that there's hardly any on there. That's because most of my favorite DG fic is elsewhere.

If you are interested check out the Fire and Ice Archive www.dracoandginny.com, there are a lot of good authors like Sarea and Jade Okelani, Mynuet, Myanceris, Rainpuddle, ClanMalfoy and many more.

Some of my favorites DG fics which are not archived on here, but can be found if you google them (eg on livejournal or other sites) are

"Break in the sun (till the sun breaks down)" and "Shall rise again" by Peki ... those also feature some nice Lucius/Narcissa.

My personal recommendations if you want to check out a fandom are the following (may include stuff featured on my favourites list):

Harry Potter - Draco/Ginny - "Break in the sun (till the sun breaks down)" and "Shall rise again" by Peki (search google for links)...it's realistic and exciting. It's what JKR wishes she could write and I don't even mean that disrespectfully.

Harry Potter - Harry/Severus (no slash, Severitus) - In Blood Only (See favourites)...again, it's real and still exciting. You'd pay for it, if it wasn't for free on FF.net.

Harry Potter (Warning: Slash!!) - Changing of the Guard (see favourites)... I only read slash fics because otherwise I would seriously limit my fic choices. But this is not really slash. I mean, sure, there's graphic slash content, but it's not really about that. There's a real story which keeps you captivated and a real relationship which makes you feel for them, no matter what gender they have.

Warcraft - Bolvar/Onyxia - The Obsidian Dawn (See favourites) ... I don't like to include unfinished stories in my favourites, but I do sometimes. Never even imagined that pairing, never could imagine a storyline quite like this one. Yet, I never have to suspend disbelief. I've never read any official Warcraft books and now I never will, because I know I will only ever be disappointed. Plus the author got me to read another Warcraft fic called Frostblood which is amazing, too, but this is the original one for me... the first Warcraft fic I ever read.

Yeah, I'm all about fics being real. I dislike superpowers, Mary Sues, Deux Ex Machina (unless you find a way to somehow make it not so...random...), mpreg and generally stuff that doesn't have a good enough explanation. The more your story is way f*cking out there, the better the explanation has to be. And it still has be credible.

And, yes, I know Paraselenic (on my favourites list) contradicts most of what I just said (except for mpreg, because there's no explanation, no justification, nothing you can offer to make this right...).

It's got most of the things I hate. But I didn't just finish it, I finished it in one single night. Then again, I read The Sun sometimes. There's no accounting for taste.

2008

Just to let you know: My story After the frost is officially abandoned! I keep thinking that one day I'm gonna finish it, but don't hold your breath.

2009

Still plan to finish After the Frost. Someday. Maybe.

2010

Should be studying and am taking a break from raiding (WOW). Suddenly five free evening per week...should really be studying...Back into HP fandom. Somehow I suddenly read lots of Harry-centric fics. Should really get back to studying now.

April 2010 - I've become addicted to Harry Potter fanfics again...damn. Only this time they're all Harry-centric. I kind of want to write again myself, but just can seem to bring myself to doing it right now. The Death Note fandom has introduced me to something which I hated (but had to read since the fandom is virtually all about it) - slash. Now, I read Harry Potter slash, too, and I have slash fics on my favs list...the world must be coming to an end. On the plus side, there's a lot of stuff out there for me to read now in the HP fandom because I previously avoided slash like the plague. If it's well written, I'll give it a shot.

However, there is one thing that I abhor - mpreg. Under no circumstances will I read it. It makes me cringe. Any children which magically are somehow actually two guys' kids are a big no-no as well, even if they were made in the lab.

July 2010 - I have started writing a new, hopefully epic-length series which is going to be Harry-centric. It will probably be 2 stories, starting when he first goes to Hogwarts. It's going to be more and more AU as time passes (though it's probably more appropriately called Alternate Reality, since I'm not really changing the HP universe. Things just happen differently than in canon). There will probably be no pairings until the sequel. It will not feature my OTP (Draco/Ginny), because I have a very specific plot in mind and I plan to use canon pairings mostly. It's not going to be a "shippy-fic" anyway, it's going to be about the storyline (or at least that's what I'm aiming for).

2011 - Still planning that Harry-centric HP-fic and I actually wrote some chapters some time ago, that I am still very happy with. They are longer than anything I have ever written before, but I won't post anything until I have more than 50k words at least, because I don't want to post anything that's not gonna get finished. I'm never going to finish After the Frost and am going to take it off the site.
