Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter. About me: hello, all. my name is maddie. i'm a writer and, at times, an artist with a mostly healthy sense of humour and a positive attitude. *enthusiastic jump* don't let my lower-cased profile throw you off - i'm actually very grammar-conscious in my stories. sometimes i'm just too lazy to move all the way to that blasted shift key. *sigh* News and such: Just a mini-rant: Why do people insist on telling someone they don't like a story without explaining why? "I didn't like it." This comment benefits me how? It's called constructive criticism, keyword constructive. And the whole point of that is so that the writer can improve on weak spots. So please, if you don't like something about what they write, tell them what it is. And after reading the profile of one of my vague reviewers, I have this to say: yes, grammar does matter. (Notice I'm capitalizing now, heh.) Grammar and understanding the story usually go hand in hand. Observe: "She's pregnant!" as opposed to, "She's pregnant." One conveys excitement and surprise; the other...doesn't. And sometimes grammar isn't a huge problem, but when you confuse the word "sure" with "shore", people think of the beach. Currently in production: (book six, also untitled) i was working on this today, actually. not making any promises, but i should have a lot of time to work on it, considering it's summer vacation and all. | |||||||||
