The Introduction (Version 2.0)

Well, well, it's about time I updated this page. I guess I should jump right ahead to the basics first. My name's Jenna, I just turned 19 recently and I'm a mild-mannered college student by day and a masked crime fighter by night. Okay, I was lying about the last part...or was I? When I'm not reading, planning or writing fan fiction, I love to draw, paint, act, sing (be it spontaneously or with a choir), surf the net of Inter, do scrapbooking, designing fashions, shopping, eating, sleeping, listening to music, daydreaming, thinking and all those wonderful things in life. To check out my artwork, just click on Homepage and it should take you right to my DeviantArt page. See? It's just that easy.

Fan Fiction

What Do I Like? What Will I Write?

What types of fan fiction do I gravitate towards? Well, I can admit right now that I love a great parody/spoof, especially when it's one that is written well and stays true to both the characters involved and the story it is parodying while giving new little twists to the plot. From time to time, I love a good romantic "shipper" story be it a fluffy, tooth-rottingly sweet romance or a romance destined for doom. Angsty stories can be great from time to time as well. Now, as for slash stories, I'm not the biggest fan of them in general. However, I am willing to make an exception if the pairing is believable and would make sense for the characters involved. Two examples that spring to mind are Mark/Roger from "RENT", Johnny/Edgar from "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac" and The Almighty Tallest, Red/Purple from "Invader Zim". I like the idea of them as a slash pairing but I have yet to find a good story about them. Of course, top-notch writing helps in making me believe a slash pairing. However, there are several slash pairings that make me sick to my belly just thinking about it such as Zim/Dib (aka "ZADR"...ew.) and Homestar Runner/Strong Bad (yes, I have seen it out there, unfortunately) for instance.

As for the type of stories I'd likely write, so far, I've written a lot of humor based stories and parodies but I'd also like to venture into "character study"-type pieces that explore what makes a character what they are and whatnot.

Fandoms I Will Likely Write For

"Invader Zim", Jhonen Vasquez's comics (ie. "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac", "Squee", "I Feel Sick"), "Daria", "Saiyuki", "The Simpsons", "Princess Ai", "Full Metal Alchemist" (though that one is a big maybe), "RENT" (though it may not be too likely but we can still hope)

And now for the question some of you might have been asking these last few months...

Where the Hell Have I Been?!

If you've been following my major story "The Maniac of the Cabaret", you'll definitely have noticed that I haven't updated the story in months. You see, a lot has happened in the last few months which has kept me from writing in general. There were many things that were eating away at me in real life (home, school, personal things) which lead to a major creative block. For the last while, I have been drawing a lot more lately but I have been working bit by bit on writing whether it be in a journal or drabbles. I'm slowly working away on getting back into the writing game so I can get back into "TMOTC". And no, "The Maniac of the Cabaret" is NOT dead, just restin'. I vow to finish it. It's going to take me a while but trust me, as writers, we all have those major blocks but we've been able to triumph it before. Surely I can do the same for this story. ;-)
