Author has written 6 stories for Dracula, Winx Club, Spirited Away, Naruto, and Harry Potter. 'ello there and welcome to my profile! I am your hostess, QuicksilverWitch! I am currently in my third year of college and am an English Education major! My Favorite Fan Fictions are ones that make sense (relatively speaking), and are well written. My Hobbies include graphic arts, jewelry design/creation, reading, among other things. I loathe with the fires of a thousand suns incorrect use of grammar, in particular the incorrect use of words such as "their, there, they're," etcetera. There is no shame in admitting to needing a BETA READER!! FIND ONE BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! I am a firm believer of if you don't like it, then don't look at/listen to/read it. When I say that in consideration of FanFiction.net, I mean it in terms of reviews that display the composer's angry or irritated feelings toward different fandom characterizations, themes, plot lines, etc., as well as horrid grammar/spelling mistakes and so on and so forth. Yes, its nice to try new fan fictions and all that jazz, but if you find you're not hooked by at least the first or second chapter, that should be a sign right there. I am of the opinion that--barring general, polite, encouragement or polite discourse/discussion--comments that contain no constructive criticism whatsoever are rather pointless if their only purpose is to bash/verbally abuse the writer. I'm not saying its not okay to disagree, criticize, or point out that the author is wrong in any way, whether it be a misspelled name, theft, or something that is offensive to the nth degree (that's what the REPORT ABUSE option at the bottom of every fan fiction is for), but there's no reason for hazing. This goes without saying for character bashing as well. Let us take, for example, the infamous Team 7 of Naruto. There are many people who are of the opinion that the character Haruno Sakura is a bitch and must die (cue foaming at the mouth), while the yaoi pairing of SasuNaru/NaruSasu shall reign supreme, (everyone bow down, etc. etc., blah blah blah). The yaoi can be cute on occasion, (not to mention some of the fan art is just too cute or pwnsome for words), but come on with the character bashing! She's fictional for crying out loud! Seriously! It's one thing if a character does something you don't like (another example: some fans bash Albus Dumbledore for being the reason Harry was left at the harsh/abusive hands of the Dursleys), but here's the rub: if you hate them that much, then why are you dwelling on it? Dislike character A? Move on, don't read the fan fictions' concerning them! And the fan art! Is it really necessary to show the character you loathe so much getting stabbed repeatedly, being harshly reprimanded/dissed by the character you love, or cast as a crack whore/slut when they barely even have a sexual relationship, not to mention are barely out of puberty? I have considered converting to the wonderful religion of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, as I am 93.7 percent positive it could cure the majority of life's problems. I have noticed that the more fan fictions in a category, the more the original work often times rates a 4 out of 10 on the absolutely fabulous scale. (with 1 = the worst, 10= the best) I have other web pages: DeviantArt http://quicksilverwitch.deviantart.com/ and FictionPress http://www.fictionpress.com/u/541620/ (I can also be found on LiveJournal as MikadoMoony23 _~) I hope you enjoy my fics, please read and review! Author's Corner September 29, 2009 Well, it's been a while, hasn't it? Especially with the updates, which I apologize to my readers for. So much went on this past spring and summer I didn't have a moment to write! And you wouldn't believe some of the things! In Spring, school was--there are no words >.. Summer was ab fab...except, you know, for when the main waterline to the house burst. Heads up, everyone; NEVER TRUST PVC PIPING! IT NEVER LASTS! But on the bright side, we had it fixed in time, so alls well that ends well! And I took a summer course, so, yay for a quarter of my education being completed! As for now, the semester begins once again, also comprised of English classes and Education classes (cue "The More You Know" music!), however, I will attempt to get back on track again. Actually, I was just going over "Falling Leaves" and will soon look at "Looking Glass", but HOLY COW! Fourth and fifth revisions seem imminent my darlings, so please be patient! However, I have also noticed recently that the fics don't seem to be that awesome to everyone, hence the poll now in residence at the top of this page. Please let me know if you strongly feel I should remove both, one, or neither! For further comments, feel free to PM me. Also, what are your thoughts for a new fic? The options are as follows: A. "She Said No", a Sailor Moon fan fiction Summary: After successfully preventing the entity known as Chaos from manifesting completely, Usagi briefly speaks with the Galaxy Cauldron’s caretaker, Guardian Cosmos. Upon unwittingly opening her future charge’s eyes to the truths of her past and future actions, Guardian Cosmos makes Usagi realize she cannot bear what she has done, and inadvertently changes the entire future. Now, with the timeline reset just after her reawakening as a Senshi post the Dark Kingdom confrontation, Usagi is compelled by obscure dreams and a forceful voice that encourages her to take different actions from before, even if she doesn’t realize it. What really matters now is how much Usagi’s actions will affect those around her, and if the desired utopia that once lay in wait, will come again! B. "The Gift of the Slayer", a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan fiction Summary: After her death seals the gate to Glory's hell dimension, Willow and Tara's attempts to bring back their best friend and champion are stymied by the Powers That Be for unknown reasons. Meanwhile in the real world, a renegade angel decides humanity is in need of a wake-up call, and allies himself with the demons of Earth to create an army unseen for many milllennia in Sunnydale's plane of existence. Will the champions of Sunnydale and Los Angeles be able to deal with another apocalypse without their perky blonde slayer? C. "Viridian" a Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Harry Potter crossover fan fiction Summary: Harry Potter and Buffy Summers. One champions the hidden magical world of magic, the other the freakishly paranormal world of Sunnydale, California and the (mostly) oblivious world of humanity. Who knew that dying at the exact same time on the exact same day could give the Powers That Be such a zany idea as having both of them in charge of the forces of Good? This poll will be up by November. Please think about/let me know which you like best (or if you are not fond of them)!! Hope everyone has a great autumn!! ~QW | |||||||||||
