Update as of June 10, 2008:

I'm not sure what compelled me to return to my profile after four years, but I'm totally getting the usual "ew, I wrote as a young'in?!" author's vibe.

As you can see, my first two stories were written all the way back in 2004. I'm hoping that I don't have to massively tweak or rework The Black Sheep of the Family to match the timeline of the completed Harry Potter series, but it appears that canon really has left a lot to answer for. Plus, all the character deaths were rather disheartening and I'm not sure if I can keep writing knowing what befalls them in the future.

Well, you can always suspend belief, think of the happy times they had, and pretend Sirius and Andromeda entered Hogwarts at the same time. I'm not sure of the nature of their age gaps or if it was confirmed that the latter was in Slytherin, though J.K. Rowling admitted it herself that math wasn't her strong point when inconsistencies in birthdates and such were pointed out. I'm sure my own interpretation won't be anything to be outraged about. It leaves more room for the four houses to interact during this point in history.
