Author has written 8 stories for Lizzie McGuire, Brady Bunch, and Touched by an Angel. Howdy! I am in my late-30s, who is a chaplain and music therapist, who used to work in the special education setting in public schools. Now, I work in a hospice. I am a first soprano, and flute player (I used to play violin and viola). Because of my music therapy training, I took up guitar and autoharp. I've got ecclectic music tastes; I like selections from just about any genre of music. However, my favourite genres are comedic rock (Weird Al, Arrogant Worms, Three Dead Trolls), soft and classic rock (mainly music from the late 60s through early 80s), music from the Classical Period (think Mozart), Stamps-Baxter music (Christian music from the mid 20th century), and some Contemporary Christian music (like Audio Adrenaline). I also like Smash Mouth, Yes, Dixie Chicks, Kiss (their old stuff), Chicago, and the list goes on and on. I admit it, I am a Hilary Duff fan (of her music, not movies), same goes with Lalaine and Raven. Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) rocks too! I love to sing hymns, especially with my family and close friends. I also love to chord on my guitar and sing along. That's relaxing to me. I'm also a cat freak and photography/scrapbooking nut. I love to read for pleasure, and I'm a movie/DVD junkie. Blockbuster and Hastings and Amazon.com probably love me! I really enjoy reading Star Trek (all but Enterprise), Brady Bunch, Law and Order:SVU, Hannah Montana, and Lizzie McGuire fanfics. I'm new to writing fanfiction. So far, have only written for LM and Brady Bunch. My favourite characters are: Lt. Uhura, Deanna Troi, Beverly Crusher, Major Kira, Dax (both of 'em), Kathryn Janeway, Kes, Olivia Benson, Casey Novak, Carol Brady, Jan Brady, Cindy Brady, Miley Stewart, Lilly Truscott, Miranda Sanchez, Gordo, and Jo McGuire. I like all the McGuire characters, but Jo's my favourite. I like Lizzie the least. I do like some pairings. I don't do slash or threesomes. NOT my cup of kool-aid. So, you won't see any from me. I like P/C, R/T (TNG), K/O, E.Dax/Bashir (DS9), J/C, J/P (somewhat), J/Q, and P/T (Voyager). I love Fin/Casey. I think E/O is cliche, but love it when done well. I love exploring Jo/Sam (duh, they're married), and I like L/G or Miranda/Gordo. I've read one story here that was Jo/Gordo, which I thought was spectacular. I do like Matt/Melina, and wanna explore Sam/someone else (okay, affair). I also enjoy writing Mike/Carol stories (BB) and stories involving one of the Brady Bunch kids as the central character (I'm especially fond of Jan and Cindy). I like stories with lots of plot twists and turns. I don't care too much for cliche plots, unless there's a twist within the story. My favourite plot devices are: pregnant Jo, Lizzie going through trials (with family support), character death (This includes suicide; I will put those in the M category for I know that's a sensitive subject. I work in a hospital, so I've seen death up close), eating disorders (those will be put in M out of respect to those who struggle), J/C marry and have a family, and Fin and Casey hooking up. I'll try not to keep repeating the same devices over and over ad infinitum, ad nauseum. There are some things you won't see in my stories: I won't go into graphic detail on rape or drug use (but may use them as a MINOR plot device), write a character as a homosexual (not a prejudice; I would not treat the subject with the respect it deserves--a skill thing, not a phobia, so please no flames there), torture (ugh! that gives me nightmares), or anything I've not researched. I do want to respect my readers by being sensitive to them, which means putting appropriate ratings on my stories (erring on the conservative). I will beta stories provided they comply with my aforementioned likes/dislikes in the previous paragraph. I'll beta stories that involve pairings or characters not outlined in the paragraphs about my favourite characters and pairings as long as the stories conform to my guidelines. One more thing, yeah, I love babyfics. You may find that the majority of my stories revolve around this plot device. They do and many of my future stories probably will. I make no apologies for that. So, with all this, read, enjoy and review! Thanks! | |||||||||||
