Author has written 16 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh, Warcraft, Super Smash Brothers, Tales of Symphonia, and Kuroshitsuji. Hiya! I'm Sekana Katayama, and welcome to my profile page! Have a biscuit. Current News: I've been dabbling in all sorts of things since I finished 'Why Can't We Be Friends', but sadly none of them have been quite as enjoyable. I'm in the middle of many right now, so once I get it sorted out I'll start bragging about it. ;) Also, check out my deviantart (SekanaKatayama) for fun tidbits. Now Writing: As some of you have noticed, I've finished my WoW series, 'Why Can't We Be Friends'. In fact, I'm giving it its own little info section on my profile as a tribute to just how long the series has gotten. I never even thought I would finish one Warcraft fanfiction, never mind... um, how many are there again? My fingers are telling me that there are five parts, plus the edited compilation. Other than that, I am not currently writing any fanfiction, despite my desire to finish some of my hitherto incomplete - and oddly popular - ones, such as 'Accidentally' and (Ra help us) 'Not You Again'. These I'd like to complete but school and original writing takes precedence. The Why Can't We Be Friends Series 1) Why Can't We Be Friends Frankly, I love these stories to death. I know it's weird and slightly pompous for a fanfiction writer to proclaim such love for a fanfiction he/she wrote, but I can't help being honest about this. I started this series off a wild impulse back when I had just gotten into World of Warcraft, so it has been progressing and changing for around three years now, maybe more. The original idea was half-baked and pretty stupid, actually - my first idea was to have a human warrior, much like Lance, finish a quest to slay a dragon and meet a night-elf 'woman' named Felfe. Then the so-called Lance would find out that this Felfe (whose personality was much closer to Silya or Yuren's, as it happens) was actually a guy. All sorts of nonsense ensued, such as the two of them adventuring together and getting lost places, going to Felfe's guild which was probably the gayest thing I've ever tried to write. 'Gay' here meaning that the entire guild was gay night-elves. The prototype for Kain was the only other significant character, and he showed up at the gay guild as a perverted, Liam-esque guy who tried to seduce Lance at the guild's bar. Totally serious here. All that was before Burning Crusade was ever announced, so when I saw the first pictures of blood-elves I immediately became obsessed with the new idea of making the guy in the bar a blood-elf, and a seme, to the very effeminate night-elf uke. The Lance character thus fell by the wayside, at the time. So I started writing it, and along the way all these characters showed up, personalities I had never written before. I fell in love with these characters as if they were the ones writing and not me, and when I had finished the quartet (as it was intended to be) I felt thrilled but very lonely. I finally broke down during my first year in college and began writing 'Fixation', a Liam-centric stand-alone story that was not nearly as fun as writing a true sequel. So, after a few months I surrendered to temptation and melded the chapters from 'Fixation' into the new and completely unplanned sequel, 'Friends Will Be Friends'. I am now writing this sequel with great gusto, and honestly I hope it will never end - I hope it'll just keep going indefinitely, so I'll never have to say 'The End'. Character Bios from the Why Can't We Be Friends Series Felfe: A very effeminate male night-elf rogue who always ends up in bad situations, such as being chased by a bear or walking off a cliff. He may not be terribly intellectual (rogues don't need intellect!), but he is incredibly pure-hearted and would never purposefully hurt anyone. He honestly wishes to become stronger, so he can become a great adventurer someday and be able to protect both himself and his friends. Kain: A devilishly handsome male blood-elf paladin who leads the Horde's largest raiding guild, simply called 'The Guild' (from way before such a show existed, though might I add shamelessly that I love that show). He has a complicated personality and a sad past, but his faults are slowly smoothed over as he encounters Felfe and falls madly in love with him despite having to rescue him time after time. Yuren: A sarcastic, downright caustic male undead warrior who is second-in-command to Kain. He has little joy in life - or undeath, I should say - and is permanently in a sour mood. But could Lance change him for the better...? Lance(lot): A boisterous, energetic male human paladin who leads the Alliance's largest raiding guild. He does his best to uphold his image of 'the perfect paladin', but the Light knows that he hasn't exactly been chaste in the past. But when he meets Yuren, an interesting friendship forms... Guanji: A cheerful, positively goofy male troll mage who is a friend of Lance's from the beginning despite being from opposite factions. He is always happy to play matchmaker along with Yuren and Lance, as well as, occasionally, Silya and Alyane... or just any character in the whole story, really. Silya: A typical but sometimes temperamental female blood-elf mage and Kain's little sister. She is, at first, like many other female blood-elves in that she parties, shops, and consumes vast amounts of chocolate in her spare time, but once she meets Alyane she becomes much more introspective. Can't cook to save her life. Alyane: The most gorgeous, mind-blowingly seductive female blood-elf warlock in the entire World. Her emerald eyes can move mountains, her soft waves of raven hair can entice even the most unwilling, and her porcelain skin and deep red lips can cause seas to part and armies to kneel at her feet. She is a temptress of all men, and apparently also Silya... Liam: A mischievous and borderline insane male blood-elf hunter who becomes infatuated with Felfe to a dangerous degree. Spoilers: Nahir: A cold, professional male blood-elf priest whose only interest seems to be in doing his job, which at the moment is to investigate and ascertain Liam's mental state and begin trying to heal it if possible. But he has a lot more up his sleeves than a simply medical outlook. Temarr: A very emo undead warlock whose outlook on life is bleak but strangely calming. A confidant of Silya and eventual friend to Wrenn and Liam. Wrenn: An enthusiastic young blood-elf paladin who dearly wants to uphold the Light. He truly wants nothing more than to be a paladin, even taking the vow of chastity seriously. | |||||||
