Author has written 26 stories for Harry Potter. New story by Mum-To-You and Twix under author account "Twix and Mum." You can reach it from either of my "Favorites" pages. I have been persuaded by my teen-aged daughter to post my stories, just for the heck of it, so yes, I am an older writer, about Molly Weasley's age, as it would happen. I also happen to teach middle school English. Unless otherwise noted, all stories are one-shots. When I write my novel, it'll be an orignal work. Important assumption made about Arthur and Molly's relationship in general: They are the ultimate OTP, aren't they? The notion of either of them even considering anyone else is squicky and doesn't happen in my universe. Just no, no, no. Other assumptions made by me, until JKR tells us otherwise, that are sort of quasi-canon-based: 1. JKR has said that Molly's maiden name is Prewett and that she is related to the Gideon and Fabian Prewett who were OotP members the first time around. I have made them her older brothers for my stories. 2. Since the adult Molly is well known for her culinary skills, I have taken the logical step and made Potions her best school subject. It's pretty much cooking, after all. 3. I'm also assuming Molly and Arthur are around 45-50 in Book 5 (Ginny, 15, through Bill, 25 or so). I also do the math with as short a gap between Percy and Charlie as is possible to calculate. It is possible that Charlie left school after his O.W.L.S., I think. Calendar dating is well nigh impossible because each book represents the next school year, but takes more than one real-time year to write. n.b.: In a recent update on her website, JKR has clarified that Charlie is two years younger than Bill and three years older than Percy. I love being right! 4. In my fics, Arthur and Molly went to school with Lucius and Narcissa, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Marlene McKinnon, and any others who might be roughly in that age bracket. The fact that they are at school together does not mean they are in the same year. The Marauders, Snape, and that whole gang are 10-15 years younger, and they would have missed being at school with Molly and Arthur by at least a few years. 5. I'm very particular about having my stories act as "canon" for each other, so I do update older stories as needed to take information from more recent ones into consideration. I also change the stories as canon information becomes available. It bugs me otherwise. Other important assumptions for my non-Molly and Arthur stories: 1. Percy, if the Arthurian legend of Sir Percival is considered, is in deep trouble, but is in no way lost completely. Stories of his future family life will take this dark period in his life into consideration, where appropriate, because I refuse to give up on him at this point. I have created a whole family for Percy and Penny, six girls and one boy, just to be silly. His oldest, Emma, is simply the most enjoyable character I've ever created, and I love her. 2. Remus/Sirius: Their love is so canon. That is all. | |||||||||
