Author has written 7 stories for Hellsing, Diana Wynne Jones, Skip Beat!, and Labyrinth. Hey all! Never thought I'd do this, but I've pulled my Spirited Away story for the time being. Major writers block on that one. It was mostly planned out, but how to get from A to B was giving me grief and it hung there unfinished and annoying. I'm hoping to some day get back to it since that was going to be a long- albeit leisurely paced- adventure. If I do, I will repost it, but I hate having unfinished stories on my account. I would've done this sooner, but there were a lot of people watching this story and I felt bad letting them down. Hopefully some of them will switch to author watch instead. Also pulled the Until Death Do Us Part one shot fic. It was cute, but the manga made it moot and I didn't want to change it. Might come back someday with other drabbles, since I really like blind swordsmen and cute kids. I readily pull my stories if they don't interest readers or if I get annoyed with them. One exception is my first story which embarrasses me, yet I leave it up. I read and write (and review) across different fandoms. Feel free to point me to your works if you like and I do respond to private messages. Manga are my current love and I read this site and this one as well. (Watch out for ads and viruses from mangafox, but onemanga is clean 99 of the time.) I also read web comics like crazy! Here are a few of my current faves: Gunnerkrigg Court- kid safe, at least for teens. Fantasy world, crazy coming of age story... love it. Girl Genius- likewise. Mad science, steam punk, skimpy bikinis, what's not to love? Red String- older teens can handle it, but there are adult themes here. Coming of age story with romance, heartache and school life. Seraph Inn has several stories on it. The currently updating one I read is this one. Spooky stuff and romance! There's a completed one called Inverloch that is also a good read. I regularly read Finder and Strays as well (among many, many others.) Finder really had me hooked until recently. That's what happens when you leave out your most compelling character for too long. Sure, he was there by way of being sought after, but we've strayed wide of the mark, if you ask me. You may need to purchase the back stories, not sure how much is located online. Support the author- it is well worth it and the artwork in the books is terrific. Speaking of straying... Strays is new and promises so much! I want to know more about our major characters and their backstories. Having a mute main character in a graphic form is great! Everything he needs to say has to be done on the page, not through dialog. Their updating is patchy, however. We bought volumes 1 and 2 at Otakon in artist's alley. But wait, you may say, does anyone read dead trees anymore? Heck yeah, says I! Currently I've got Mirrors in my car and just finished this one on body language. I'm reading Howl's Moving Castle to my kids (AGAIN!) and will read most anything by Christopher Moore. Kids and I are finishing one Tamora Peirce series and enjoyed the first 2 Larklight books by Phillip Reeve on audiobook during a cross country jaunt. I'm willing to beta but as you might gather from my comment about kids, I'm a grown up with a day job, so check with me about availability. Sometimes my job involves downtime and I'll gladly read, edit and comment on your story. Other times... let's just say I'm not so free. | |||||||||||
