Author has written 16 stories for Recess, Rocket Power, School of Rock, Strange Days at Blake Holsey High, and Zoey 101. Daily Note: ( I decided to add this, as a means of assuring my readers, I am still alive. Though the title is a bit misleading, as it won't be updated daily...ahem...) 11-4-2005 I'm thinking of calling this the "Every Now and Then Note". Because I never write anything here. Bummer, huh? Guess what people! I got an f-ing myspace! My user name (is that what it's called) is: solitary_dragon, if you want to look me up...if you want to add me as a friend, e-mail me about it first with fanfic_myspace in the subject heading...because if I don't recognize you, I might reject the friend offer thing...and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I've just had bad experiences with aim and msn messenger and whatnot. People suddenly im-ing me and I have no idea who they are. Okay, screw my plans. Fck the world. My life sucks, and so does every story I've ever written on this site. I HATE BEING IN THE MIDDLE OF A GODDAMN WRITER'S BLOCK! Argh! Sheesh, and it doesn't really help when people are constantly pestering me about updates as though I've suddenly forgotten that I had this story going and I haven't updated it in awhile. Anyways, here's the deal. I have this dream of being this great writer that is loved and respected by the writing communtiy everywhere. But, writing half-hearted, though oft times, totally awesome fanfics, is not bringing me any closer to that dream. I have to start focusing on where I came from. Namely, my original stories. Because, I am such a fking wonderful person, I cannot leave my loyal readers hanging...for too long at least. So, here's the newly revised plan. Kiss your rabbit's foots and eat your lucky charms people and hope I stick with this one: I will be finishing, Killing the Daisies and The Lies They Tell Us, simply because they have the hugest fan following, and they're the closest to being finished. Amongst these, I will also be working on/updating Twisted Life, simply because I have all the way up to chapter ten written, and I really need to finish this story. It's something inside of me, eating at my soul. (Sorry to A Simple Kiss fans...) If something else does strike me along the way, I may work on it and post it. If it's not completed before I post it, don't expect me to finish it, because chances are good I won't. Now, shit happens people. This "plan" is, by no means, an announcement of abandonment to my other stories. I am like mother earth, completely unpredictable. Everything I do is simply on a whim. I may update my other stories, or I may never look at them again. That's just the way of life. I'm sorry. a harrowing memo from SD chat with me on aim, if I'm ever on, thedragonherself. Hmmm...my bio...okay, I'm about 6'5'', blonde, blue eyed, with a flawless complextion...and dumb as a rock. Alright, fine you got me, that's not a bio, that's not even how I look. But me writing my own bio is not in the stars. Why do you want to know about me anyways? So you can pinpoint my location through my profile and hunt me down and kill me, or worse, force me to finish every fanfic I started but never finished due to lack of interest and crappy writing? I thought so. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A few days later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay, I decided to give a bio...I plan on being a world famous author one day, but for now I'm just going to settle for a loser artist who, between work and now school again, has no time to write. I joined ff.net to post recess fanfics and moreso just to write reviews for others fanfics, and to prod them to update sooner because I can't poke them with a stick. Damn digital-ness and virtual reality-ness...grumble... I have a dry sense of humor and I like to focus on the developing of characters, changing, and the emotions involved with it all. My story ideas are all pretty serious, so if you don't like that stuff, don't read. I don't write straight out fluff, I can't stand the stuff, nor will I write spoofs, plotless crap, straight-up angst, suicidal, homocidal(though I can't guarantee this one), drug ridden stories, did I mention fluff? I may write sap... As to my age, let's just put it this way. I'm not as young as most of the writers on this site are, but I'm not as old as the writers in the Rainbow Brite section must be...'cause you know they all have to be like mid-twenties early thirties to still remember the show. You'll probably only ever find me in the recess fics. Pairings I'll probably write (just for a heads up), and always read: Always TJ and Spinelli = P Other than that, anything goes. Look for these soon to be posted... AS A NEW SCHOOL SEMESTER HAS BEGUN, ALL OF MY UPDATES ON ALL OF MY FANFICS WILL BE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN! I KNOW IT'S NEVER BEEN THIS WAY BEFORE, BUT I HAVE NEVER TAKEN FIVE CLASSES BEFORE, NOR HAVE I EVER TAKEN ON-LINE COURSES. I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE. HERE IS THE CURRENT STATUS ON EACH OF MY FANFICS: Killing the Daisies: (Recess. ON TEMPORARY HAITUS) Chapters posted: 9 1/2 out of 15. Chapter 10 is as of yet not-completed.I am trying to get back into the swing of this story, and hope that this short break in regular updates will get me back on track in regards to this fanfic. In A Box: (Recess. NOT YET BEGUN) Prologue posted. Will not start until Killing the Daisies is finished. The Legend of Bandit: (Recess. ON TEMPORARY HAITUS) Prologue and Chapters 1 and 2 posted. Will not continue until Killing the Daisies is finished. A Simple Kiss: (Rocket Power. AS OF NOW ON REGULAR UPDATES) Story One finished. Story two: postings n/a Ojos de los Muertos: (Rocket Power. AS OF NOW ON REGULAR UPDATES) Story one: Chapters 1 - 3 posted. IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, COMPLAINTS, OR...you just want to chat,PLEASE feel free toE-MAIL ME AT:solitary_dragon @ hotmail . com, I WOULDN'T MIND HEARING FROM YOU. Thank you for your understanding, for your devoted reading, so on, and so on. I am a full-time college student, and a part-time worker at a pizza store, so, I really have little time to work on my fanfics. It's because of all the reviewers that I've gotten as far as I have. Once more, I apologize. I really am sorry for this as I love posting fanfics and hearing everyone's responses. I'll try to update everything as soon as possible! ~~~Recess Fics~~~~~ The Legend of Bandit: In a radical future run by an opressive government, Spinelli is the enigmatic bounty hunter known as Bandit. She has shedded her former self and with it, her past. But when a name she never expected to see again appears on the list of fugitives, she's forced to look back and finds herself starting a war between two forces she never wanted a part of. (TO BE WORKED ON AFTER WSL. Sneak-peek posted.) In A Box: When Miss Finster teams up with a mysterious woman to bring back the "naughty box", their first target is, of course, the infamous TJ Dettweiler. But when the first trip to the box sends poor TJ's mind to the brink of insanity, something tells the gang simply sending him back to the box won't fix the problem. And who is this mysterious woman, Anita Baxter, and what is her real (and very much hidden) agenda? (Given over to me by lovova, whom I am greatly appreciative to. WILL BE WORKED ON AFTER WSL. Sneak-peek posted.) Blood Vow: What does a briefcase full of money, an eighteen year old picture of a little girl, a promise to a deadman, the CIA, and a hacker on the run have in common? Randall. Bet 'ya didn't see that one coming. My spinoff of Randall's character from my story Where the Skeletons Lie. Pieces of You: My take on the recess gang in their highschool years. When the social order tears apart the gang, and takes a tough toll on the "nerds" and "geeks" of the highschool world, Spinelli's natural instinct to stick up for the little guy kicks in, getting her in a great deal of trouble with the "popular" crowd. Swing Me To the Moon: A Swinger Girl centric fantasy. I still haven't worked out the details, but expect a surreal experience. The Burning Stake: (I might not write this one) When cleaning out the attic as a punishment, Spinelli discovers an ancient deck of Tarot cards that belonged to her great-great-grandmother. She ends up dragging herself and the gang into a mystery surrounding their small and lovable hometown, a mystery that someone doesn't want them to solve. Recess at 98th Street: (I might not write this one, either) We've heard the tales of 3rd Street's adventures at Recess, and one of those adventures took us to a school of dopplegangers, 98th Street, run by Principle Prickley's older brother. Now, I think it's about time we hear the adventures of CJ Rottweiler and her gang during recess at 98th Street. And Then There Was Third Street: (I don't know when I plan on writing this one, but I do. If anyone would like to send me ideas for this one, I'd greatly appreciate it, just e-mail me with the title in the subject header) When Gus's little friend Hector asks for a story, Gus thinks back to his past. We know that Gus attended twelve schools before Third Street. Like, for instance, Jesse James Elementary where he was the dodgeball menace "El Diablo". But what about the other schools? What happened at them? Well, listen to Gus's stories and find out. No Title Yet: TJ returns home with his fiance for their wedding. The only problem is in the form of an old flame that had never been given a chance to, shall we say, burn? Aloha, Hula Baby: Spinelli is fresh out of college, and her life is a hectic mess when she recieves a letter from an old teacher she never expected to hear from again. GretchenSpinelli: (Parody of ThelmaLois) Gretchen and Spinelli, lives less than satisfying, head out on a roadtrip and find themselves in a great deal of trouble. Some Kind of Tender: (Parody of Some Kind of Wonderful) TJ attempts to woo the most popular girl at school (his dream girl) with the help of his best friend, Spinelli. No Title Yet: (May not write...) Suddenly finding herself a widower, Spinelli moves her daughter back to her hometown of Third Street. There, she has to refind herself and try and reconnect with her daughter, who blames Spinelli for her father's death and everything else wrong in her life. ~~~~~~~~~Rocket Power Fics~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Simple Kiss Series: (It all started with a one-shot...sniff...how amazing...but um...) I decided to turn this into a series. Here are the ff's in this series: A Simple Kiss: One-shot about thekiss. (posted) Complicating A Simple Kiss: When a poll inadvertantly leads to the revelation of Twister as Reggie's mysterious kisser, things get a little out of control, while the two are still trying to sort out their feelings for one another. (posted) A Dim Light In The Dark: After overheard conversations and the things said to him at school by students and peers, Twister feels insufficient as a boyfriend for Reggie. So he goes to Sam for help at becoming 'mature'. Meanwhile, Ricky attempts to usurp popularity from both Otto and Twist, as Lars decides how best to use the video tape against Ricky in a way that will hurt him most. Will everything turn out fine in the end, or will the new "improved" Twister lose everything he cares about? A Very Twisted Christmas: When Twister loses his present for Reggie on the slopes of Mt. Baldy, he and Otto brave a blizzard in search of it. Will he be empty-handed on Christmas day? Will the two boys even make it back safely? (posted) Dancing For Tomboys (title may change): When asking Twister to be her partner in an upcoming Latin Dance Competition, Cleo subconsciously insults Reg's tomboy nature. Feeling challenged, Reg declares that she'll enter the competition as well, with Twister as her dance partner. Unfortunately, Reg doesn't know how to dance, and Twister only has 3 months to teach her. Will she prove to Cleo she can be more than a tomboy? Or will she realize that dance is about more than a passion to win, but a passion for one's partner? A Squid's Heart: When Sam agrees to tell Otto, on the condition Rocket boy never tell anyone else ever, who his crush is on; it quickly spreads through the school. Which isn't so bad, except his crush is on Reggie; starting a fight between Twister and Sam and forcing a difficult decision on Reg's shoulders. Will this be the end of the Rocket Gang and the blissful relationship between Reg and Twist? Which boy, if either, will she choose? Twisted In Boston: Twister recieves a full-scholarship to a prestigious acadamy with a specialized semester-long (18 weeks) program in Fine Arts. Which is great, except the school is located in Boston, Massachussettes. Suddenly, he finds himself alone, landlocked, unpopular, and unwanted by the rich prep kids of the acadamy. Can he prove to the rich kids that he belongs there as much as they do, even if he isn't exactly convinced himself? Or will he give in and give up, letting themsee himais nothing but a charity case, a handout like they doall the other scholarship kids? No Title Yet: (Rocket Power fic...if I write it...) While preparing for her wedding, Reggie and her family are surprised when an unexpected visitor shows up for the special day. As a popular Hollywood director, Maurice "Twister" Rodriguez should be more than happy and satisfied with his life, but he's not. Recess At Ocean Shores title is not final: (Rocket Power/Recess crossover) With their final year at Third Street happily in the bag, the Recess gang are brought on a school trip to the fair beaches of Ocean Shores as a graduation gift. Of course, in said sunny city, Otto and the Rocket Power gang are excitedly welcoming the coming Summer, but totally bummed about the onrush of shoobies. Unbeknownst to either of our favorite gangs, a new plot is being formed by a maniacle madman in Ocean Shores, a rebel lifeguard that hates extreme sportists and the havoc they wreak on his beloved beaches. ~~~~~~That's about it right now~~~~~~ word of advice: "Don't ask. Because you won't want to know the answer, and you probably won't understand it anyways." Some of my favorite people on this site: (haven't updated this in awhile) I give up, there's too many. A word to flamers: Send me flames if you want, go ahead if it'll make you feel better about yourselves. A word of advice though, I work at a Pizza Delivery place, for the longest time I was the only cook (imagine that on a friday night), and our customers are real creeps only looking to get a free pizza any way they can. I've been unofficially trained in the art of bitchiness. Say what you want, do what you want, just be aware of the consequences. If you can't say something nice, watch who you talk to. If your looking to make some promising writer curl up in the fetal position and sob their eyes out by telling them their story sucks and they suck and they have no telent, then keep looking bub, 'cause if you can dish it out you better be ready to eat it, because I can make people cry and I have. I'm a writer, master of emotions. If you mess with me, you may find yourself curled in the fetal position. So go ahead, please send me a flame, please try and harrass me, I welcome the challenge. HAHAHA How come no one ever flames me? I should really just post a piece of crap solely for the reason of recieving a flame. What's my obsession with getting a flame? The world may never know. I just finished watching the entire 14 episodes of one of the greatest sci-fi shows ever created (right up there with Farscape and Babylon 5, of course): Firefly, created by Joss Whedon (Yes, duckies, the man who created the ever popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer series, and the forever coveted Angel.) Now, I just recieved news recently that Firefly is being made into a movie entitled "Serenity", and will be released on April 22nd 2005, which excites me to no end. It is my belief, and dire hope, that if the movie does exceptionally well it will be picked up again, as fourteen episodes is a short life for such a momentously excellent show. Now, why am I telling you all of this? Simple. I want you all to get off your ever-loving kesters and check it out. Now, what is Firefly about? It is perhaps the most brilliant show I've encountered in a long time (most particularly since Farscape was first released). Firefly is a genre mix of Science Fiction and Old Western. How is that possible, you ask, how can it be done? Quite magnificently it seems in Joss Whedon's case. This show is a splendid blend of edge-of-your-seat story telling, mind blowing action scenes and visual effects, heartrending characterizations, and well-timed comedy. You'll find yourself on the edge of tears one millisecond and laughing your arse off the next. The story takes place nearly five-eight hundred years in the future. China was the dominant power over Earth (which is no longer in existence). It's about settling planets in the far reaches of space. What they do is terraform the planet and then send a ship full of settlers to live there, so it's very much like the wild west. Food and medical supplies are scarce and the government with its laws is stretched thin. Firefly follows the story of one Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds and his crew living on the Firefly class spaceship "Serenity". Now, Mal and his first mate Zoe are veterans who fought on the losing side of a civil war (the Browncoats), so they've already got a chip on their shoulder and a dislike of the government known as the "Alliance". Zoe is married to the pilot, Wash (which they're interactions are one of my favorites on the ship), who just happens to be, perhaps, the best pilot in the whole 'verse, and more often then not finds himself as the comic relief. He loves his wife a great deal, which makes him into a very endearing character (refusing to leave her side when she's injured, feeling he needs to protect her even as she's a capable "warrior woman" in his words). The mechanic is a sprite young woman named Kaylee, who's the cheerfullest of the bunch, and often pulling everyone together and reminding them that they are a family, or the best any of them has of one. She has a natural ability with machines, and more particularly, space ships, and a great deal of love and respect for the ship Serenity (refers to it as a "her", talks about her as though she were a living being) Then there's Jayne Cobb, more or less the mercenary of the crew. He'll go with whoever has the most money to line his pockets with, and sometimes that isn't going to be Mal. He is, however, extremely stupid, and sometimes displays the possibility of having a heart that otherwise you wouldn't think is there. He is loyal, not to a fault, but in the end he's almost always fighting on the right side, or reallyjust Mal's side, which isn't always in the right. Then there's Inara, who's not really a part of the crew. She is a registered companion, or in the words of the good captain, "a whore". People pay her to spend time with them, and, yes, that does include sleeping with them often times. It's a completely legal enterprise, and because of that, having her aboard opens up a great deal of opportunities for the crew that otherwise would be closed to them. She simply rents one of the shuttles, and despite her groundrules and protests, Mal is more than happy to burst right in and make conversation with her (they're interactions being possibly my second favorite on the show). Now, the trouble starts for our wonderful crew when they take aboard some travelers who pay them for passage through space. The Doctor Simon Tam, and the Shepard Book, as well as a shady man, all of which are suspicious, mysteriousand, of course, lead to trouble for the already trouble-making crew. Simon reveals himself to be a fugitive, attempting to smuggle his sister, River, another fugitive, out of the hands of the Alliance. River proves to be something of trouble herself as she's the latest experiment for the government with odd psychic abilities and a tendency to insanity. Shepard Book himself shows himself to be something more than a holy man, but as to what, we aren't sure. Those three become just three more of the crew. And the shady man...well, you'll have to watch the show to see. This is the story of an odd assortment of a crew flying aboard their beloved rust bucket of a ship Serenity in the deep black, taking whatever job presents itself, legal or otherwise. Now, why am I blabbering on about this? Because I just got finished watching all fourteen episodes of Firefly and I'm loaded with tea. Not to mention, I just got off of work, my day off is tomorrow, and I have a class real early in the morning and I should be in bed but my light in my room burnt out and I'm afraid of going in there. Paranoia, you see. I highly recommend that everyone who looks at my bio (all three of you) verse yourselves in Firefly and check out the movie; because I anticipate that it will be awesome. YAY! Quotes: From Firefly- (When going in to interrogate the prisoner) Jayne: I was gonna get me a finger, too. (After Wash pulled off a really amazing piloting thing) Zoe (In a flashback of her first with meeting Wash, who is her husband): I don't like him. Cap't Mal: Kaylee is dead. (Simon panics, runs down to the hospice, finds that Kaylee is sitting talking with Shepard Book). | |||||||||
