'You said "he's got a healing machine
It glows in the dark, glows in the dark:
You say "there's not a lot of me left anymore -
Just leave it alone.
But if you're by, and you have the time,
Tell the northern lights to keep shining,
Lately it seems like they're drowning"'
Tori Amos, Amber Waves
Me? Are you sure you aren't looking for someone else? No? Okay then...
I am young (though not for this site). I am also English by birth and Oriental by blood, but the wrong kind of Oriental to be popular on this site or cool these day it seems. (Chinese, if you were curious.)
I like red hair, chai tea and meerkats. I dislike mushrooms, horror movies and authors who demand reviews. I cannot abide rudeness (here shines my Britishness) or arrogance. However, I'm frequently told that I'm a doormat and far too nice for my own good half the time.
I started writing as soon as I could hold a pen and discovered the world of fanfiction at the tender age of twelve. I promptly became one of those awful, awful fangirls who wrote those awful, awful stories. I cringe at the memory and can only hope that I've learned from my mistakes.
I like unconventional pairings. I like conventional ones. I dislike people who attack those who don't ship the couples that they ship. In short: if you're open-minded, I will (most likely) like you.
I would also like to hope that I'm approachable. I treasure my readers and admire the writers whose work that I follow. I positively brim with happiness every time someone contacts me about my work, whether via a review, PM or e-mail (yes, I'm that easy to please.)
I also dislike long bios, so I shall stop this one now. Thank you for stopping by.
Works in Progress (aka Scrawled on Countless Sheets of Chemistry Notes) and Future Projects
Diamonds and Rust: A Bleach/Naruto crossover. After an encounter with the wrong end of Temari’s weasel, Tayuya and the other members of the Sound Four (five…six…can’t you count, Kishimoto?) discover life after death in Seireitei is pretty similar to that of a shinobi, but their uniform lacks an assbow now, and they get to swing a sword around. Sweet.
Bite the Hand that Feeds: Naruto. Kiba/Tayuya. Oh, and AU. Plus a lot of crack. A lotta, lotta crack. And dogs. Confused yet? Try writing it...
Exodus: Naruto. Tenten-centric. It’s hard to voice the orders no one wants to give. It’s hard to accept the missions no one wants to take. It’s hard to be the ones left behind. NejiTen, LeeTen
Wreck of the Day: Naruto. A hugeass project that's in the planning stages, but that I'm determined to write. One of those 'what if?" AUs. Most likely to be as long as (if not longer) than Secondhand Faith. Just with more plot (possibly.) Oh, and SasuNaru - my descent back into conventional pairings has taken me long enough after all. This story is currently only in existence on paper in my writing folder and Secondhand Faith takes precedence since it's published, but I'm slowly getting chapters written - I should have a comfortable number pre-written by the time that Secondhand Faith starts winding down and I start posting this.
A Year in a Rain-soaked Country: Naruto and Sakura adjust to life without Sasuke. But some gaps cannot be filled and they are not the people they once were. NaruSaku. (Ridiculously long story that still insists on being a one-shot, not chaptered. Huh.)
Slow Dying Flowers: Sound Four study, replete with sproglet Otonin. Contains rampant theorisation and possible TayuKidou. While still in the planning stages, the end is crystal clear in my head. You won't like it. :p
Current Writing Status
16th August: Guess who's ba-ack! Yes, I have returned from my trip to the US/Canada with a ridiculous tan, too much laundry and an addiction to hostel bars. And, by putting my little nose to the grindstone, I've also written 4,000 words tonight and finished chapter sixteen of Secondhand Faith. Aren't you all lucky? No? ...I'll go and sit in a corner with my jetlag now.
8th July: Whoops, I may have forgotten to mention that, from the 30th of June, I'd be backpacking across Canada for a month and a half. Therefore (fairly obviously) everything is on hiatus until August the 13th. However, my trusty notebook is along for the ride and Secondhand Faith chapter Sixteen, Exodus and Diamonds and Rust are contained within its pages in various states of completion. See you then! Love, Lell-in-Quebec.
13th June: Friday the thirteenth is possibly not the best time to upload a story, but whatever. Newish fandom this time - Bleach. And while I've been reading it for years, I haven't been inspired to write in it until now. (Heart Rangiku.) Besides exams, time in which to write is much reduced - I'm doing a lot of beta work these days, which is fun and interesting.
7th June: I am clearly on a roll here because I've just uploaded a Team Gai cracky one-shot. It involves Neji. And a sunhat. With a bow.
