I may not see all or know all, but I know much... 3/8/12 News well, those one shots I keep randomly posting don't have any sort of update here because those are actually pretty spontaneous postings. I have flamed before but in my defense I did intersperse some constructive criticism amongst my sarcasm but in the end it was a flame), there are just certain things that should be kept in mind while writing reviews. Instead telling someone their work sucks, tell them what is wrong and how to fix it. It's really that simple. You could also practice what my mother always said to my siblings and I when we'd get into snipe fests, "I you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." You do not do something like this: XxTotallyObsessedxX Simply out of curiosity, how stoned and/or drunk are you when you write this shit? Or published it for that matter. Nobody with half a mind would write shit like this. Have some dignity, and don’t embarrass yourself by writing. In fact, don’t embarrass others by writing. You bring shame to the English language with this crap, so do us all a favor and stop insulting the art of literature. Next time you feel like writing while intoxicated, take a nice drive along the highway, instead. This story, kiddos, is encouragement not to write god awful stories while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or complete and utter stupidity. And this is an actual flame I received on one of my crappier stories. Yes people, I am the first to admit it when my stories are not great (in fact I think a lot of what I write is not good). It's thanks to this jerk, that my already large self-worth issues got worse and I am always shocked when my writing professors tell me that I actually am a good writer. He also has made it so that I feel dread when I read my reviews half-expecting flames when I see my review count has increased. I know, I put on a strong, unaffected front but in truth I am human and I was in High School when I received that flame and extremely vulnerable. I still am. I am not trolling for compliments or anything: I am making a point. Reviews like that are damaging and this is my testimony to that effect. Think twice before you write a review like that. Otherwise, things could be worse than just damaging someone's self-image/self-worth like it did me. And for the record: I did reply to him, it was scathingly sarcastic(or rather an attempt at it) because he insinuated substance abuse and that I should make poor decisions instead of writing (the fact he ripped into me instead of the story in and of itself was what did the most damage and elicited the more volatile emotional response btw). 11/23/11 Updated my Peeves/Opinions section 11/12/11 I've decided to make a blog for this profile. Reason: this thing is just too darn big. SO I've dumped a lot of what was on here onto the blog (including my longer rant-y sections which are now on my blog's rant page) What else got moved were my oc's list, my favorites lists, and my copy-paste section (the largest section removed). These updates I've decided will stay for the most part (those that have had rant sections removed have a note in them). This will also (probably) be the last profile update I do about my writing. From now on, I will use the blog for that. This update will mostly be used to announce the end and beginning of stories (whether by completion or deletion). So here's my last profile story update: Bolt Out of the Blue might be further delayed because my laptop is in the shop. I'm using my parent's computer but that isn't something I can always use. So if it's up later than I said it would be, I apologize. Happy reading. -MP 11/07/11 To any who are reading Bolt Out of the Blue: I have half of 15 written (at last) but I am still finding it hard to focus on that and my school work at the same time. I also regret to inform you that it is further delayed because of a personal family happening. I know that no one really cares but one of our cats died. He was only 2 years old. He was sweet, quirky, and a huge brat but utterly loveable. You can think me nuts for being so upset over a cat, but he was very dear to me and my especially to my older brother (who is currently serving our nation overseas). Faron (the cat) will be missed. The dog is already looking for him. I think his girlfriend (as we jokingly called her), my cat Artemis (Arty for short), hasn't noticed yet because they didn't interact much except when eating. So, because I don't write very well when upset (or grieving), I am sorry to say I doubt I will be making any progress until I manage to move past this. It's silly, but his death also reopened the pain from my grandfather's passing . So here are my web memorials. I didn't do these before because I usually don't post anything truly personal. Well I know which way I want to go. and I'll start writing chapter 14 soon. Hopefully the rest of it flows from there. Please know that my work starts up on the weekends again (it's a gig) so I will be losing writing time to that and school which starts on the 29th. I hope to see anyone who's reading BOotB on Thursday 08/03/11 I looked back at my older stuff and man does it stink! 07/14/11 So Yeah ,yesterday I figured out that the account I thought was always an alt was actually my original one. Kind of crazy, huh? I don't even know why I switched over to this one to begin with. -_-' Dang it I'm getting old! As of October I'll have been on FF.Net for 8 years! Mind you if I went by when I was introduced to the sight then as of August I've been on FF.Net 8 years but I didn't make my first account on here until 2003 and didn't make this particular one until 2004. And on the other side of that divide I'm pretty sure I'd have never counted on how I'd turned out being what my life would be. Oh well, c'est la vie. 6/20/11 Good news, I made progress ob BotB:B2. let's see if I can keep it going. 6/18/11 Wow it seems all I ever do on my profile is rant anymore. So before I start yet another one here's the news: Still kind of blocked on Bolt out of the Blue: Book 2 Earth, but I have an idea that might work on getting me past my writer's block. With the chapters I have pre-written as a buffer there may not be a hiatus. 5/28/11 Book 2 should be on track for most of the summer though I'm still stalled about around chapter 9 so this story may or may not have to suffer the same fate as my KH story which is languishing in an incomplete state. I shall do my best to get past my writer's block but know that I have ADD moments, and I'll get inspire to write a totally different story while trying to get my current project done. The number of incomplete stories on my hard drive is a bit ridiculous. I repeat this to anyone actually reading my stories and this as well, I will do my best to get past my writer's block and find my focus, Scout's Honor! Wait a second, I'm no longer a girl scout. Hmmm, ok then Trumpeter's Honor! 5/25/11 Ok rant time again, but first a couple of announcements to anyone actually reading this (doubtful). One: Bolt out of the Blue Book 2 Earth, is up. Two: well there really isn't a two aside from the fact I'm still writer's blocked about half-way through Book 2. 5/16/11 While I know I'm not perfect when it comes to proofreading my chapters/stories, I find that I can no longer stand it whenever people blatantly butcher the English language and don't even both going back to fix it! Hello, ever hear of content replacement? I might not be innocent but at least I make the effort to fix my mistakes! I'll be reading a story with a fairly good concept but I can't go past certain chapters because they have dialogue formatted incorrectly and they have grammar mistakes that would make an English teacher/professor/major froth at the mouth! Please get a beta, have someone else read it, or go over the chapters yourselves for pity's sake! It doesn't have to be immaculate it just has to be correct. -End Rant 5/6/11 Ok, I'm such a liar! I will be continuing to work on getting CoST finished, but since I already have part one of my 3 planned fics for the challenge response finished, I've decided I'm going to post part one of Bolt out of the Blue. So Book 1 will be posted throughout the course of the summer (Well it may not take that long to get it all up). So Enjoy! 5/4/11 After much thought, I've decided to delete Avatar 2006. Not only have I changed my writing style since I started that fanfic, I just don't have the desire to finish that fic any more. That being said, I'm going to focus on getting my KH II arc of CoST finished before I can devote some of my scattered creative energies to the Challenge Response I'm writing. It's a Naruto/Avatar: Last Airbender crossover. So If anyone actually cares, keep an eye out for Bolt Out of the Blue. 4/6/11 Ok this is going up here because it caught my eye and appalled me. I was looking for a Naruto fanfic to read whenever this pairing appeared: Neiji x Hinata I don't know why I'm even surprised anymore. Any time I see a pairing like that I want to puke because not only is it NOT acceptable in most modern societies it's also just asking for genetic defects. I find this pairing just as bad as Danny X Jazz from Danny Phantom because Hiashi and Hizashi were identical twins, meaning genetically Neiji, Hinata, and Hanabi are half siblings. How anyone can think incest pairings are ok is just beyond me. Perverts. If I offend anyone well, I'm not sorry. End Rant. 1/1/11 Happy New Year! So I was just checking my alerts and after looking for something to read on an author whose story is on my alert's favorite's list I finally looked up 'The Prince of Tennis' on Wikipedia, just to see what the heck it was about aside from tennis. On principle, I think sports manga are lame and this goes double for more serious sports movies with three exceptions: Angels in the Outfield, the Natural, and The Rookie. Comedies I have no issues with. Any, back on point, I looked up the summaries and have decided that I shall never actually read this manga because my impression is they add a bunch of stupid 'special moves' like Mortal Kombat does to martial arts, which borders on ridiculous ergo I couldn't possibly ever take it seriously. Main reason: I took tennis lessons for over six years and was on my alma mater's JV team for a year (granted I stunk because I can trip on flat surfaces and my hand eye coordination is pathetic), and I still play tennis occasionally. If there were any such 'special moves' I sure as hell could have used some! Yet, I had to make do with forehands, backhands, volleys (forehand and backhand variety), lobs, overheads, serves and any other normal moves those who actually play utilize. I'm certain I'm forgetting a couple but I'm pretty sure there aren't a whole arsenal of new moves beyond those. Long story short: serious sports manga/comics/movies are lame. Wimbledon, awesome. 11/26/10 Hello, I've stalled out on my NaNoWriMo story at about half way. So I tried to read to get back into the zone. Instead, I got into the zone for other stories. Oh well. I've removed Project X from this profile and will probably be moving it to one of my alt accounts. (I got a bit crazy in eighth grade and made two alternate accounts, this one starting off as an Alt, and another). If anyone actually cared about my story (doubtful) it will be re-posted soon on an alternate account. 11/1/10 NaNoWriMo begins. Good Bye Sanity... 09/29/10 Over seven months since last post, wow. A lot of things have occurred between last up date and now. Most of them inane and nothing to do with FF.Net aside from the fact I am still hopelessly blocked on CoST. I manage to get the short 358/2 Days part written, with the Birth By Sleep stuff thrown in here and there and due to my own take on things I have Yensid's tower done. I, however, am completely stuck on Hollow Bastion. Oh well, all I can do is hope my inspiration comes back to me soon. Perhaps I should abduct the old Family PS2 and replay KH1. Replaying 2 helped slightly with me finishing the end of the KH arc. On to my geeky-ness. I just borrowed my cousin's copies of Blackest Night, Blackest Night: Black Lantern Corps Volume 1 (Which had Batman, Superman, & Teen Titans in it), Blackest Night: Black Lantern Corps Volume 2 (which had The Flash, JSA, and Wonder Woman), and Blackest Night: Green Lantern. Bottom Line: Wonder Woman 2 and Wonder Woman 3 have my inner BMWW geek going 'Squee.' I have new respect for the Lantern Corps though, some of the 'extra' lanterns were kind of 'Huh?' and same goes for a few of the Black Lanterns, most of them were 'whoas' and 'who's that agains?' as I'm not the most avid comic book reader. Though, thanks to Wiki, fanfiction, Justice League (Unlimited), my vague memories from the animated Superman and Batman shows, Lois and Clark, and Smallville I wasn't as lost as I thought I'd be. ^_^ 02/03/10 Posted through the end of the KH 1 arc on CoST. I have looked at a full summary of Birth by Sleep and will be incorporating what I can into my story. I also acquired 358/2 days and beaten it on Standard mode and will say this out right: I hate Xion. You play the game and you'll hate her too. I'm going to try to get most of my KH2 arc written before I post any more of CoST. So to anyone still reading CoST it's on hold again. 10/14/09 CoST I've finished writing Hollow Bastion, and I've posted part of it. Currently I am stalled past that and once I post the rest of the Hollow Bastion chapters I will return CoST to the writer's block status as I am working on some of my original fiction right now. 8/11/09 I need to update this more. Ok Chosen of Sky and Twilight will be updated sporadically, and I've been working on many other ideas. Most of the time I delete them but I hope I can come up with something good. 3/9/09: What a busy few months. Performed in my last High School Musical as a student (Pit Orchestra-Trumpet), passed my grad project meaning I only have to pass English and Gym class to graduate,and for the first time since my school started competing in the WIRC we placed! We got fourth but we placed! Story Wise: AS of current I am writers blocked/working on several ideas in hopes to end writers block on the stories I currently have posted. I have begun overhauling Project X, but I'm on chapter five and stalling. After I finish all of my current in progress stories, I will post a new story. I'm not dead, yet, but Updates are going to be rare. 1/18/09 my first profile update of the new year. Wow. Yeah, a lot has happened since June of last year. Most of it bad. But life isn't always a bed of roses. Only 138 days until I leave the hell-hole I call High School. Then I'm off to college. Most of my stories are on hold, I've got too many ideas flying in every direction and I'm also trying to focus on my original stuff. So those who actually read my stuff, I apologize. I majorly need to rework Project X and Avatar 2006 I'm blocked on. So I'll try to get everything fixed and in good order but for now there will probably be no new updates. 12-16-07 Hi, not dead yet but I'm blocked on two stories, unblocked on one. If I deem it good enough and my friend betas it I'll be posting that one and putting the two others on hiatus. --9/13/07 Ok only CoST is left in progress and I will work on getting it through Halloween Town as I am stuck. I shall now go through my repetoire of stories to see if any are good for posting. 9/6/07 Hi, OK I finished Legendary gift leaving only 3 in progress stories to finish. I never let stories die so all my new stuff will have to wait for me to finish the three left. CoST might not be finished for a while but MTT and EBHR will have to be dealt with. Once those are done I will focus on getting the KH arc of CoST done before CoM arc and the KH2 arc drafted mentally. Compelling read, couldn't put it down for five hours straight. "Man Made Global Warming" is complete and utter balderdash. Reputable science backs me up on this: The warmest and coldest periods in history were in fact pre-industrial. All this "Going Green" bologna is our version of the Sod Busters. For those of you out there who might not have my wacky brain, the Sod Busters caused a little something called the Dust Bowl out in the Great Plains. They were trying to make more rain (I think) and wound up pretty much destroying the ecosystem for a period of years before things got better. This is food for thought to those who are seriously buying into all of this 'green' nonsense, but those oh-so special bulbs they want us to use instead of the standard tungsten filament bulbs have a rather poisonous substance in it: mercury. The fumes are where the term "Mad as a Hatter" comes from (Mercury was in hat polish). Also, my closing statement on this would be: in all of their "calculations" I have yet to see any of these so called scientists acknowledge what really controls our climate (It sure as heck isn't us). You know what that ultimately is? It's called the Sun. Finally my opinion/policy about Slash/Yaoi/Yuri/Shounen-ai/Shoujo-ai/Gay/Lesbian pairings First and foremost:I support the right for people to do what they want. However, it doesn't mean I have to like what they do, understand? I will not persecute or mistreat someone based on the fact they are gay. I'll treat them as they've treated me. It doesn't mean that I'll ever be 100% comfortable with their lifestyle (and who knows they probably aren't comfortable with mine). So I'll admit up front I do not approve of it. However, since my approval means absolutely nothing to to rest of the world that just applies to my opinions and things I like. Secondly: This leads into my opinions as far as fanfiction and I suppose my wish for what was. I am sick and tired of people taking canonically straight characters such as Yugi Mutuo from Yugioh, Harry Potter, Merlin (though that one might be more up in the air than I'd like), Lita/Makoto from Sailor Moon, Ami from Sailor Moon and Sora from Kingdom Heats, ignoring their characterizations and putting them into slash pairings. So here's something I wish these writers would respect: Leave Canon Sexual Orientations alone. IF they're straight in canon, leave them as is. The same also applies in the inverse Gay in canon is Gay in fanon. Hence why if I ever write a full length SM piece (doubtful) I will respect and leave intact the pairing of Haruka and Michiru/Michelle same goes for Yukito/Toya from Card Captor Sakura. However, I suck at writing even Hetero-pairing interactions. So the pairings will be there but not really seen (just like my hetero-pairings usually are 'cause I focus on the story not the romance and I generally suck at writing them) When it comes to genderless characters (e.g. robots) and what we perceive them as, that's where things get tricky, but if the author makes it believable then it's a good pairing it's just neither slash nor straight because of the lack of actual genders. Though, I will take this time to say I despise the X/Zero pairing in the Mega Man X fandom. I don't particular care for the X/Alia pairing either. Nor do I like Mega Man/Protoman or Mega Man/Base in the Classic Series. Especially Mega Man EXE/ Protoman EXE from NT Warrior because there Mega Man is technically Lan's twin brother (through a long and complicated back story and is most definitely straight NOTE: This is based on the games). I don't care much at all for the show's Mega Man EXE/ Roll EXE pairing...I got into Classic first and I can't deal with a Mega Man dating a Roll. There is always an exception: If the slash pairing is written well and it is between two characters whose orientations are never explicitly written, I might give that fic a chance. Note that 'might' is my operative word. This does not, however apply to L/Light pairing from the Death Note fandom. L, to paraphrase a friend, hasn't discovered girls and Light's leanings are more to the straight end of the spectrum in manga/anime and he is definitely straight in the movies. In the end, these are my opinions. Yours probably differ but I will change this for no one, because this is me and I've never been one for conforming to what people tell me. OK other things OH-On Hold I cannot spell to save my life with out the wonderful spell checker, so my grammar sucks. Should I ever write GX fanfiction (aside from being one section of the third MA story, there won't be girl Slifer students. They'll be a separate entity called Isis and be gray. What I cannot stand on FF.Net: Reveiwers who have no idea on how to give constructive criticism Also, If any one flames me, here is what happens to flames- Laughed at then I shall ignore thy presence for the rest of that particular fic. Anonymous flames shall be deleted. Signed flames, not sure yet,might stoop to your level or not depends if you even have any stories. Those I dislike the most. Also, whenever you flame do not assume I will not respond. Especially if you accuse me of being intoxicated. Flame Policy Expanded on the topic of Anonymous Flames: Like previously stated, these types of flames will (most likely) be deleted. If you're too lazy to either get an account to flame me with or sign in to flame me then your flames won't be left to distort my actual review amounts no matter how small that number is. Flame Policy Updated on the topic of Signed Flames: I've decided that stooping to the level of the flamer is a useless, childish endeavor. However, I will do my best to ignore them and attempt to not rise to the occasion. Also, those of you who leave flames who do not have stories, I consider to be cowards. Those of us who do have stories are showing vulnerability which you attack without exposing any of your own. Hence why you are what I consider to be completely yellow. End Rant Other, other things: If you really like my story and want a character in it, you can ask me and I'll usually comply. Believe me on this; the plot isn't mapped out when I start a story. I only know most will have a happy ending. I like happy endings. If you want a character in it and it's early on, there is a good chance it may get a big part. If you are a friend, you may even get a character designed after you. In reallity this man is the leader of an underground militant group and wants Dr. Light to build him a soldier with his blue prints for X. After reallizing a robot is too impractical he forces Dr. Light to alter the blue prints to cybernetics and make him a cybrog instead. Xavier Prosper's life wasn't going too great either at that point and it got worse when he was kidnapped by the same man Dr. Light was now working for. This man forces Dr. Light to turn Xavier into a cyborg or he'll kill him. Dr. Light reluctantly complies. After this man who calls him self The Commander fails to break Xavier he forced Dr. Light to seal the boy away and erase his memories at gun point. After deciding his life wasn't worth letting the commander enslave that boys Dr. Light refuses to tell them the unsealing code and is shot.
