Author has written 5 stories for Yu Yu Hakusho, and Charmed. Hi! It's me, sashax13! I am a lazy, American, teenage writer(ish). I like to read & review other people's fanfic. That being said, I like anime, fantasy and science fiction so long as it isn't too science-y. My favorite TV shows- and, typically, fanfiction genres- are Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the anime Yu Yu Hakusho. (Yeah, notice any similarities?) I'm also a fan of Charmed, especially the original older shows. I also watch Dead Like Me, My Name Is Earl, Friends and I've been just dying to see Veronica Mars.My favorite movies are Star wars, the X-men series, Pirates of the Carribbean, The Lord of the Rings, Phantom of the Opera and Spirited Away. I like to read, too. Real books. Not just fanfic. My favorite books are A Great And Terrible Beauty & Rebel Angels by Libba Bray (BEST SERIES for girls- and supernatural lovers- EVER) Uglies and Pretties by Scott Westerfeld, The Stravaganza trilogy by Mary Hoffman, Harry Potter books by JK Rowling, Daughters of the Moon by Lynne Ewing (OTHER best series ever), Amelia Atwater-Rhodes's vampire books, Meg Cabot's books, The Two Princesses of Bamarre and Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares, Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen, the T'Witches book series by HB Gimour and Randi Reisfeld (hated, hated, hated the movie Disney made of T'witches!), A Seperate Peace by John Knowles, Laurie Notaro's books, Sahara Special by Esme Raji Codell, and Gingerbread by Rachel Cohn. I don't typically read fanfiction made off of books. This is because it is hard for any fan author to imitate the style of the original author, and if the writing style is different, then it just can't match or live up to the original. Whereas with TV, movies, or even anime, it is much easier for authors to take characters from a screen and put their stories into words, making these stories truly their own. I'm not really interested in long, multi-chapter stories right now. I loooove to read them, don't get me wrong, but I don't usually spring for big projects. I don't have time, effort, or energy to spend writing fanfiction for the internet regularly, much as I would like to. My stories are usually fairly simple. If you've read one story of mine and wish there was more, try reading one of my other stories and see if you like it. My favorite genre to read is parody. Basically, silly stories just rock! But I like it best if you make fun of everything instead of just one character/concept in particular. (Unless the character/concept really deserves it.) I will read most anything though, depending on what looks good. To be entirely honest, I don't like romances that much because usually they aren't always written well, and even when they are, they can be sappy or flat. Romance is OK but I think it works best as a side-plot. I like OCs but I have a lot less tolerance towards them in romance fan fictions. In addition, I appreciate any constructive criticism people want to dish out; I may not follow your advice but I will definitely consider it (even for my silly stories). I usually need help with things like structure and fluency so that I don't confuse my readers because of strange wording. If you find any mindless errors please feel free to point them out; I am usually pretty good with proofreading but I slip occasionally. Feel free to point out continuity errors, too, especially if they bug you. I may be aware of them already, but I try to make note of things that are obvious or that may not sit well with my readers. (Yeah, I know my silly stories are littered with continuity errors. Sometimes I have to sacrifice plot for jokes. Sorry. I hope they're funny enough to be worth it.) I probably won't do much revision once the story is online - I don't know how or even if I can - but I will take note of them to change in case I decide to revise or re-post the story. I hate to take things down, even if they aren't perfect, and I've always hated it when other fanfic authors do that, so I won't unless there's a major problem with it. I hope everyone likes my stories! ~sashax13~ P.S.- Check out my favorites lists! If they weren't good, then they wouldn't be my favorites. My friend, Lectaelf, writes fanfictions. She doesn't have anything posted right now, but she's a soon-to-be legend. When she finally gets her awesome Yu Yu Hakusho fic to publishing quality, you will love it. I know I did. For the moment, you can look her author page up or something. I know she likes to read and review. Note: Okay, I blew it and forgot to put a disclaimer of any kind on the Go Out For Donuts story like I meant to, and since I don't know how to edit stories already online, here is one now, because I'm copyright-aphobic and I will feel bad if I don't leave credit to the people from whom I borrowed characters, etc. So here goes: I did not write, do not have enough talent to have drawn or animated and am in no way involved in the production of the series Yu Yu Hakusho and claim no ownership of the characters of said series. In addition, I am in no way associated with Starbucks, and I apologize for slandering them because I really do like the mocha frappuchinos there, and enjoy their fast-food way of making coffee, even if it costs a lot and they put a lot of milk in. It is still good. Just pricey. I hope the Starbucks people will have a sense of humor if they ever catch wind of this, and they shouldn't feel bad because they're rich. Also, I don't own anything to do with Disney or Disneyland and I did use the name. I find Disneyland a very magical place- go there if you can afford it! This goes for a story about anything I post on here, least I forget a disclaimer in the future. STORY NOTES Here are some extra notes/summaries on some of my stories for more information and tidbits from the author, seperated by series: Yu Yu Hakusho The First Rule of Perm Matinence: (Apologies to the makers of Legally Blonde) I wrote this while I had writers block for TTLB- I wanted to make it into a chapter, but it didn't fit. The main purpose of this story is to poke fun at Karasu, and by association, Kurama. Because Karasu is one of those crazy, Uber-fashionable Hollywood type drama queens who needs to be put in his place. And Kurama is just asking for it. He's way too serious about things and doesn't seem to notice how silly he looks with all of his flowers. Someone needs to tell him that. Throwing the Lemons Back: When life gives you lemons, you probably can't handle it, because thing you're good at is saving the world and fighting demons! So, ordinary, mundane problems are not exactly your thing. So you solve them the only way you know how: by radically abusing your superpowers and making fun of each other. (Note: I AM planning on finishing this. I just didn't plan it well structurally, so it's becoming difficult for me to complete. Which I will.) The Evils of Schoolwork and Clothes Shopping: In YYH, people seem to tear up their clothes a lot. They really ought to get new ones. They aren't very good at store ediquitte, though. Hiei and Kurama Go Out For Doughnuts: They were late for the match against the Dr. Ichigaki zombies. What made them late? Getting attacked by a giant, malignant, nearly invincible robot on the way to the arena? Um, yeah, like anyone's gonna believe THAT. H & K would be better off just admitting the real reason they ditched, haha. Charmed In A Young Girl's Heart- A story based on a reference to the girls' past said by Prue on the first episode of Charmed. Apparently, the sisters had been introduced to the spirit board before... and tried to use it. There is a slight twist, that is not implied by the quote, but invented by myself to give the story more dignity. It may be worth noting that this story is NOT Alternatue Universe. The girls do not have their powers or Paige when they are young, but they are still affected by their heritage. | |||||||
