Author has written 21 stories for Soul Calibur, Zelda, Resident Evil, Tales of Symphonia, and House, M.D..

Hey. If anybody cares to know, here is a little information about myself. Any updates about stories/poems either created or in the making may also be posted here...if I remember to post about it.

Name: Ali

Age: 18

Race/Country: British...well, Welsh/English...with a bit of Austrian, German, Chezc, Russian...basically most of Europe thrown in for fun

Pets: Shermy (dog), Lorne (rabbit...evil rabbit with red eyes), Willow (big white bunny), Stig (budgie) and fish, lots and lots of fish

Personality: If you meet me in person...I probably won't speak to you. Not because I'm rude or a misanthrope but because I am ridiculously shy and quiet when you first meet me. If you get to know me...I'm sarcastic and rather cynical, people tend to think I'm posh because of the way I speak, but I'm quite..insane. Or so my friends label me. I consider myself open-minded, I'm atheist (this may be a contradiction). Most people don't really know me that well because I'm so quiet, but I enjoy making people laugh and generally amusing them. Anything else? Oh yeah, and I'm lazy as hell.

General: At University studying animal behaviour and welfare. In my spare time I do volunteer work at my local Cats Protection League branch. And my main pet peeve is incorrect grammar and pronounciation...because I'm sad.

Important Issues to me: Animal Welfare

I beg of each and every person reading this to do their part in the prevention of animal cruelty. Even it's just buying free range eggs instead of ones from caged birds, or changing to 'Freedom food' meat or even just buying cosmetics that aren't tested on animals. These are not hard tasks to do. They will not change your life. You don't have to sacrifice anything ...but you might just manage to help save hundreds of animals from suffering by boycotting products or foods that condemn animals to a life of misery.

No animal deserves to be hit, hurt, burnt, beaten, bashed, cold, scared, threatened, starved, neglected, sick, sad, skinned, whaled, hunted, poached, punched or even stared at wrong. No matter what species, size or abusive treatment they've had, no animal deserves to be harmed.
They feel the cold.
They feel the heat.
They feel threatened and scared.
THEY FEEL PAIN.
Stop animal cruelty.

Indifferent pairings: Kratos/ Anna, Yuan/Martel, Sheena/Lloyd, Zelos/Lloyd, Kratos/Zelos, Sheena/Zelos, Kratos/Lloyd (No, I don't care that it's incest)

Disliked pairings: Regal /Raine, Genis/Presea, Presea/Regal, Kratos/Kvar, Lloyd/Colette, Kratos/Regal

Since ToS has many pairings which I can't make up my mind on, it gets an extra section.

Yes, I'm aware there are far more pairings, but the listed are the ones I could either be bothered to think about, or I have strong feelings about, either for or against. Oh, and as I side note, I ask Kranna fans not to send me PMs such as 'OMFG! Kraine would never work because...' etc. etc. Quite frankly, I don't care, nor did I ask for your opinion. I don't judge people based on the pairings they like, and I most certainly do not abuse them because of it, therefore, I ask that others extend the same courtesy. I make it quite clear. I do NOT hate Kranna, I do not dispute that it occurred. And yes, you'll notice that my preferred pairings often have recurring charactersm usually because these characters are my favs.

General fanfiction peeves:

Mary Sues - No woman is perfect, least of all people who are living their lives in a fantasy world by essentially writing themselves as a character. Incidentally, I also dislike people who turn Anna into a Mary Sue like character. She is Lloyd's mother...there is no chance she is perfect. She was a human being, who may or may not have had something a little different about her that attracted Kratos' attention. She was NOT some starry-eyed bint, nor was she some raging psychopath. If you're going to write Anna, have the courtesy to write her as a realistic, original character, instead of conforming her to the Mary Sue-esque stereotype.

Self-Insertion - Similar to what is said in the Mary Sue section, I don't think people should be living out their lives in a fantasy. I also consider it somewhat audacious to plant yourself into the middle of somebody else's work. Plus, the age old: stick myself into a strange world by some cosmic event, uhm and ah over whether to tell people what happens, and eventually fall in love with and marry one of the characters to live happily ever after gets somewhat tiresome when you've seen it done 20+ times or more.

OOCness - Unless it's a humour, try to keep the characters in character. Ask others if you're not sure if they are. I appreciate that it is sometimes difficult, especially in certain situations, but IMHO if you're not going to keep the characters in character, there's not really much point in writing fanfiction. There are exceptions to the rule of OOCness, but generally, it is one I abide by.

Drunk/ Random - 'Hey everyone, what would happen if the cast of insert name here got drunk and slept together?'. You'd have a lot of hangovers, unwanted pregnancies, and awkwardness between the characters. You can see people in real life go out and get smashed off their faces and end up in a compromising situation with someone they'd rather not. It's not funny then, I don't see why it should be in a piece of literature.

School/ college/ highschool - The majority of people who write fanfiction, that I know personally, are in one of the three mentioned situations. So...we don't really need to see someone writing about it, we know what it's like. It may be interesting to do something like this once, or if you can put an interesting spin on it, but like drunk fics, they're largely the same.

...And now, having looked over what I've just written, I notice that I probably look like a complete snob. For which I apologise. I'm not saying people cannot write such fics, it's just that I don't have an interest in them for the reasons stated above. I just have certain personal guidelines when it comes to writing fanfiction that are important to me

Oh, and providing you're not a Kraine or whatever other pairing hater come to flame me, I welcome PMs etc. Always up for a chat and meeting more people in the 'trade' so to speak...:)
