Personal Conundrum: I'm dreadfully embarrassed by my older (and some of my newer) posts and wish no one would read them. At the same time, I like reminiscing on those mistakes that made me the writer I am today and don't have the heart to edit/delete them.

Reading Predilection:

My preferred genre is Romance and (other than Friendship (especially if it hints at romance) and Family (especially Dean-Sam)) is the only FanFiction genre I read.

My initial experience with FanFiction (when I was still in middle school, if you can believe it) was limited, for the most part, to the snarky and (sometimes) sweet realm of love/hate, which I will never cease to enjoy. Back then, all my (relation)ships were completely decent and acceptable by the general public's standards--even if the characters, themselves, hated the idea. Best friend ships, clichéd though they may be, were kind of a follow-up interest, since they offer a vast amount cuteness and fluff potential, which is sorely lacking in most love/hate relationships. Unfortunately for my now squiffy sense of morality, my weakness for fluff and love of a good challenge lead directly to my newest (as of a couple years ago) obsession; M/M slash is my one and only guilty pleasure, but it's just so adorable and fun to analyze that I simply can't resist! While I mostly stick to over-thinking the dynamics between the male leads in buddy cop, buddy criminal, and, okay, buddy anything movies, books and television shows, I do indulge in the occasional man vs. man, nemesis pairing.

Without hesitation, I refuse to read any ships/stories that fall under the following: femslash--not because it's wrong but because it's just not my cup of tea; incest (any closer than third cousins), which is wrong but is tolerable (but still corrupt on so many levels) provided both parties are of the same sex and are unable to have deformed children; inter-species because it is biologically unsound and should be frowned upon just as much as relations with infants; and "M-preg" because it makes absolutely no sense and shouldn't logically occur to anyone.

Even if the main genre of a story is Romance and the following are secondary, I also usually avoid the genres of Angst, Hurt/Comfort and Tragedy for three reasons: 1. Angst is too often overdramatic, OOC and written in poor taste; 2. I don't like making myself miserable; and 3. FanFiction is a place in which what I wish was fictional reality can come to fruition, and I resent those stories that do not follow my master plan (control freak alert). A plus to this no-negativity strategy is that in the process, I steer clear of a few other subjects about which I'd rather not read, like rape, abuse, eating disorders, excessive drug/alcohol consumption/addiction (I don't mind drug/alcohol usage, in general.), death (only readable in rare cases), cutting/suicide, emos, and Twilight-inspired vampires (because sparkles and monsters don't mix).

The above does not mean I won't read a story with a sad ending; I've even written a couple, myself. I just prefer that nobody strays from character norms in the process of being rejected or dumped or otherwise wronged.

And I hate when boys cry like girls (1). Just saying.

Finally, though I may mock a ship and/or debate a shipper who ships it, I can always understand why someone would ship it, and I try not to let a person’s choice in ships affect my opinion(s) of him/her.
