| Lackwit |
Author has written 8 stories for Lord of the Rings, Rurouni Kenshin, Robin Hood BBC, and Inuyasha. "Why a Lackwit, fool?" A Lackwit is a fool and the Fool in his guise as official simpleton was often the only one secure enough to criticize the king and his policies (within reason!) without sacrificing vital bits of himself. Although I don't play a professional idiot in Real Life I am both amused and saddened by the usefulness of such an act in what I have observed around me. At least I don't wear motley... I am a chemist with on-going right brain/left brain warfare who finds life annoying unless both sides are fed. I actually took up fanfiction to exercise the creative writing part that I feared was being stifled by all the technical writing I was doing and am pleased that both literary arms are feeling quite content (I actually am ambidextrous, by the way). I am a disciple of canon since I enjoy the challenge of being creative under the strict guidelines of the original work and find it good discipline for learning how to pay attention to the art of writing. Also, there must be a reason why I like the original characters, hmm? Of my fics so far, the golden child has been, amusingly enough, Gríma Goldentongue, which has won the following: 2005 Middle Earth Fanfiction Awards (Honorable Mention, General- Drama) 2005 Mithril Awards (Best Characterization- Minor Character) 2005 Mithril Awards (Best Characterization- Tolkien Character) Good Gríma :) My thanks to everyone! Anyway, please, grab a cup of your favorite beverage, fire up some mood-melding tunes, and relax as you read. Reviews are welcome but by no means mandatory! Whether you like what I write or not, I hope you at least enjoy the journey :) Update: 02 May 2009: Posted a new InuYasha fic, The Way Home. | |||||||
