"Searching for more than mere lies disguised as dogma, tired eyes tend to wander, seek the light Create in her sense of awe that sees Your beauty, let Your splendor flash with blinding light. Standing tall, all the aspen trees drink water as the rain falls down like laughter from the sky." -Something Like Laughter, Five Iron Frenzy ((clears throat)) 'Ello, my name is Gwen. I like long walks on the beach, romantic poetry, and getting caught in the rain. Hmm, describe myself in three words? Uh, perfectionistic... obsessive... and, um, romantic? Well, that bit's a slight obvious, isn't it? God, I'm miserable at these sort of things. Heh, I'm only joking. I detest rain unless I am inside and have no reason to go out. Actually, the part about romantic poetry is true. I do like it, but I could never be called upon to write it. I'm afraid I was denied the rhyming gene. : ( I also happen to be an absoluetly atrocious artist (hee hee, the alliteration was accidental). My dear companion (and occasionally my partner-in-crime) Dornar was more blessed in that department than I to be sure. If, by some lucky chance, he ever decides to post a sample of his work, you can also marvel at his talent. As of yet, he seems to be determined to hide his skill from the world. Dornar has posted a few stories and poems on this site as well. If you want to read them, his screenname is in my Favourite Authours list. It continually changes, but currently, it is choking.on.peanut.butter. It has been Not Afraid to Find, Sakka Akira, Toobil Streamdiver, and Mushrooms and Swords. I'm sure he will call me as soon as this is saved to announce yet another change. ; P Just a few random facts about me: My favourtie colour is purple, and, obviously, I am a Five Iron Frenzy fan. I also like DC Talk and, since Dornar listens to them insessantly, The Beatles. I seem doomed to only like bands who have broken up. I am a dog person, and I have several Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and I love them more than air... or any kind of pastry. Dornar and I both show dogs competitively. I think it's a lovely sport, and everyone should try it at least once. I've been writing on fanfiction for about three years now; I used to read and write in several different categories (Code: Lyoko, LOST, Teen Titans, A Walk to Remeber, etc.). These days, I stick to Harry Potter. I'm also totally in love with the Ginny/Severus ship (thanks to Sinister Spiders). My New Year's resolution is to write and edit each of my fics before posting because I wrote the fic "Every Shade of Green" as I updated the site. This, unfortunately resulted in my dissatisfaction with the story as a whole. I apologise profusely to those who enjoyed ESoG. If you hate me, I don't blame you. I was absent for several months, and then I quit the fic all together. I'd be displeased too. I work mostly with Ginny/Severus, but I also like most other fobidden ships like Ginny/Lucius, Ginny/Draco, Hermione/Snape, Hermione/Draco, and most yoais, my favourites being Harry/Draco and Dean/Seamus. I love yuri, but, other than Hermione/Ginny, Hermione/Pansy, Ginny/Pansy, Minerva/Ginny, and Minerva/Hermione, there aren't a lot of HP yuri couplings. If you see any good ones, please send me an e-mail! I'll try anything. : ) I try to stay away from cannon ships like Ginny/Harry and Hermione/Ron, but I'm not completely against them (well, not Hermione/Ron anyway...). I am against Percy pairings, most Ron pairings, and (in general) incestuous Weasley or Malfoy relationships. However, if these are not the main pairing of the fic, and the mood strikes, I'll read them. In my favourites list are "Background Secrets" and "Century Child" which both have twincest. Oh, and Ginny/Fred is completely amazing, and there should be more fics with this pairing written. Enough said. I'm Irish, if you haven't all ready guessed, so the spellings used in my writings are according to the Irish dictionary. I'm also guilty of using Irish slang words, so if you don't understand something, just ask. Nothing is posted right now, but I'm working on a story. It's a work-in-progress. It should be finished by Christmas or New Years, but I'm not sure if I'm actually going to post it. ~Gwen P.S. Just so you know, Ginny's real name is Ginevra, NOT Virginia or Ginerva. Favourite Quotes: "Duct tape is like the force, it has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together." I don't know who said that, but whoever it was was brilliant. "I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it." Dornar said this really randomly in the middle of an off-licence, and I happened to have a pen with me. I wrote it on his hand until we got home. "I don't mind straight people as long as they act gay in public." I have a shirt that says this, and I wear it all the time. : D "Call me when you want to... you know." Someone-- I'm not saying who-- wrote this on the notepad in my kitchen along with his new cell phone number. "Some men dream of fortunes, others dream of cookies." Fortune cookie! "A dark-haired woman will soon give you a gift." Dornar got this one the same day I got the one above. By the way, the trick to making fortune cookies funny is putting "in bed" after each of them. Makes them all the better, doesn't it? These are not mine obviously because I'm not quite this creative, and I have something of a life. I stole them off a website, but they made me laugh. As I said earlier, I'm a dog person; might I add that I'm a pure-bred dog person. I do not like designer dogs! This is because I think mixing different breeds is not only disrespectful to the centuries of careful breeding by dedicated people with mind to better their specific breeds (I'm a Dog-Natzi ; D), but the general conditions in which crossbreeds are raised are deplorable. Most of the time, these dogs are bred too early in life and to close relatives, resulting in sickly puppies. This is called Puppy Milling, and it's one of the main reasons so many dogs are in shelters and on the streets. Pointer X Setter = Poinsetter, a traditional Christmas pet Kerry Blue Terrier X Skye Terrier = Blue Skye, a dog for visionaries Great Pyrenees X Dachshund = Pyradachs, a puzzling breed Pekingnese X Lhasa Apso = Peekasso, an abstract dog Irish Water Spaniel X English Springer Spaniel = Irish Springer, a dog fresh and clean as a whistle Labrador Retriever X Curly Coated Retriever = Lab Coat Retriever, the choice of research scientists Newfoundland X Basset Hound = Newfound Asset Hound, a dog for financial advisors Terrier X Bulldog = Terribull, a dog that makes awful mistakes Bloodhound X Labrador = Blabador, a dog that barks incessantly Malamute X Pointer = Moot Point, owned by...oh, well, it doesn't matter anyway Collie X Malamute = Commute, a dog that travels to work Deerhound X Terrier = Derriere, a dog that's true to the end Cocker Spaniel x Rottweiller = Cockrot, the perfect puppy for that philandering ex-husband -- That's my favourite! Bull Terrier x Shitzu = Bullshitz, a gregarious but unreliable breed Sometimes, my info doesn't show up, so, if you want to contact me, my e-mail is my screenname, something.l1k3.laughter (at) gmail (dot) com without spaces and words, and my IM is silentglances. I mostly beta-read on this site, so if anyone needs one, feel free to e-mail or IM me. Damn, this is long. I'm done now. ; D | |||||||
