Author has written 3 stories for Tribe, Doctor Who, and Firefly.

UPDATE, summer 2008

It's been a long, long time since I updated anything! There have been various personal reasons for my lack of attention to my fics, but this is directed at those of you who've been disappointed about my Doctor Who fic 'Suddenly I See' in particular. My interest in the DW fandom went off in a different direction you could say, after series 2 ended. While I liked Ten and Rose when they were there, once Martha came along, I found I prefered her as companion, and I transitioned very easily to the change. What was difficult for me were the vicious shipper wars and Martha vs. Rose crap that reached its height during series 3.

All of the bad feeling put me off writing a Ten/Rose fic, and I found myself hating Rose Tyler, mostly I now realise, because of some of her more obnoxious fans, who insisted on degrading Martha all the while spouting off about how much better Rose was. It wasn't easy, as I liked both Rose and Martha, and was sick of the pathetic sniping. I bowed out of this fic entirely because was just sick of Ten and Rose, and I also knew that because of my bad feeling toward the show, the fandom and my two main characters, I wouldn't be able to continue the story as I'd intended.

I am only just coming back from my Rose hate now that most of the series 3 wank is over and done with. It hasn't been easy to get back in the frame of mind needed to write this story, but I think I'm actually getting there. Ten and Rose are the reasons I first loved DW and began to write this story, after only being 5 episodes into series 2. There's a reason for that - they made the show fun for me, just as Ten and Martha did in series 3. I began this because I had a story to tell about Ten and Rose, and I really want the fans of this to finally see what that story was.

So here goes, I'm going to try and finish this story once and for all. There's some major editing I've got to do first, but other than that, I really want to get going on writing the remaining chapters. I must remind everyone though, that this fic has never and will never be a quintessential 'shipper' fic. I'm not a Ten/Rose shipper per se, I just enjoy writing them, if that even makes sense. What I'm really saying is, this won't end in time babies and happily ever after forever and ever. And I seriously hope I didn't spoil anyone's expectations there, because if that's what you were really expecting - you're reading the wrong story!

SCARLETT

Born: 1987.

Country: Ireland! Home of really green grass, bad roads, Riverdance, a national obsession with drinking tea, U2's lost youth, a pub on EVERY corner (sometimes three, no jest), the third most expensive prices in Europe, and people descended from people from the Iberian peninsula. So we're basically Spanish. This is a true fact.

Suddenly I See: If you're reading this profile, chances are it's because of this story. All you lurkers that have the story on chapter alert and don't review - I know you're there! Seriously though, just drop me a line. I'm addicted to this story, to the characters, to the show, but I don't get paid for the time I put in, the reviews are the payment. That said, I'm never going to be a writer who asks for this many reviews in exchange for the next chapter. So never fear, the next chapter will always come along, regardless of reviews. They just help the inspiration arrive a bit quicker.

For all you discerning viewers who are interested and/or curious, "Suddenly I See" will be approximately 35 chapters long, though it could be longer, I'm undecided. This story will have an afterword, which will basically serve as a 'making of'. There may be a collection of deleted scenes that were not included in the story, or were discarded plot arcs.

While it is a Ten/Rose romance, that is not and will not ever be the main focus of the story. Apologies to fervent shippers. For those wondering if there is a grand plan for this story, the answer is: YES (and no). Yes, because there is a plan, and no, because I often deviate from it to follow a better plot arc which occurs to me as I'm writing it.

We Don't Need Another Hero: I have recently resumed writing this Firefly story that I began summer of 2006. As with SIS, I appreciate and love reviews, they're an author's life blood. So far, I've enjoyed the feedback for this, it's been really encouraging. My love for Firefly surpasses by a long shot my love for Doctor Who, despite the very long and wordy DW story I am currently writing. I didn't start a big huge FF story simply because I am not Joss Whedon and I have so much respect for his take on the 'verse that I all I knew I could do was a very small, focused story. I have a fascination with the idea of River/Jayne, which is where the first seeds of this idea began.

As though who've read it might gather, it's very much based off of how the episode 'Out of Gas' was structured - there's the present day of the story, and then flashbacks, sometimes double flashbacks. In fact, that episode is probably my inspiration for showing all the flashbacks and the other character's stories, because I really loved seeing the glimpses we got in OoG.
