Author has written 53 stories for Sonic the Hedgehog, Spyro the Dragon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Fullmetal Alchemist, Shaman King, Boondocks, Inuyasha, Ranma, Chronicles of Narnia, Haruhi Suzumiya series, and Treasure Planet. Like many who write fanfiction, I do not use it for career-training; most of us amateurs use fanfiction as a device to insert our favorite cast of characters into a world that canon hasn't gotten its canonical hands on. You seize it to build your imagination around what you've always loved! * Serious business =/= fanfiction. Ah, and my style {if it's that...} is not for everyone, so you will either enjoy it or make a hard left on "Fuck this" avenue. I don't see myself as a polished writer and I don't make a big reach to follow all the literary rules on this fanfiction site, so a story from me might look like raw meat that's been left out in the rain. It should also be said that I don't normally like novels, either; hardly anything I read has been able to fight off the annoying side-effects of my short-attention span. Thanks to this, I am actually a hardcore "movie person." I find "all the eighth wonders" in cinematography and animation. I'm not "good enough" to bring my own "daydreams of cinematography" to life with my artwork, so―humorously enough―I try to do this with writing, and alas, I tend to try to either write in the same way a camera films a movie, or with the attentive "visuals" of an animator. With that being the case...yes, I am very big on imagery. XD; Warning I have a habit of writing psycho thriller content. To write in a perspective that is not your own, but "another person's" instead, is a great challenge! As perfectly and boringly sane as I am, I put "incoherent, inane thought processes" in my styles for almost every story; it's an overused favorite. It's a lot like experimenting on a different psyche and being able to detach yourself while involving yourself, and I usually go with whatever I think is the most jarring interpretation I can invent. Because it's so opposite from what I believe in, yet realistic to the way some people could privately think, I like to write in that pattern the most; it's the most "jarring" to me. It's like an actress who chooses to play characters that are furthest from themselves. Makes them a better actress. ...A "real" one. I'll admit that it's a bit exhausting trying to "create" a certain mental state, and a thousand revisions usually take place for genres like that to look passionate enough. License I've been a part of fanfiction.net's membership list since I was eleven or twelve years old. Those days were my writing glory days. Not because it was good-writing (hell no), but because I could write a whole story in one day and never stop. Does being pubescent give us superhuman diligence? Status-Quo I hope to one day have official "installments" on my profile, but that day might be lightyears away. Writing is far more draining than drawing ever could be for me; my emotions have to be well "seasoned" for those little emotional odysseys we call "stories." With drawings...I just don't want a line to look crooked (XD;), but I never view writing from a technical standpoint. I've always felt that emotion was a story's heart, not "just" the grammar or impressive sentence structures. You gotta feel the words when you write them! The latter is fixable and teachable; the former is found from within and...bummer-sticker crap like that. My point for "writing" was to compose Fine Arts and feelings into words, to immortalize the images I daydream about onto an actual canvas since I don't have Walt Disney's animation tools to do it...but more energy is required for that poetic hoo-ha, which is why I can't sit down and write shite right now! The "author part of my brain" is like a butterfly in a garden flitting from one flower to another! The writing also seems to look strained these days; I don't know if I care as much as about writing a story as I do about the way one sounds or "looks" at this point, and that shouldn't be the case. It's either this, or I put way too many feelings in one, causing it to lose all structure. Blargh, woe is moi. Future Focus May go back to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya for more Itsuki/Haruhi/Kyon works. "Unmasked" was my favorite story. I mean, the writing would shift from okay to "What the hell?" purple prose, but I was connected to that story, no matter how badly written it was. | |||||
