- "Out of Mind, Out of Sight"

In a nutshell: Parents are Guyanese, but Canadian, I am. Born and bred, baby. ;) If you wanna get really specific, Toronto ON is my little neck of the woods. I'm 19 (can vote! can buy lottery tickets! can legally get into rated-R movies! life is good =)), weird, and random. Very random. I'm in first-year university now, majoring in Sociology with hopefully a double-minor in Psychology and Creative Writing.

Likes: Anything with the name 'Joss Whedon' attached to it; Harry Potter!; chocolate; pretty much anything from Tim Hortons; watching episodes of shows I used to freak over as a kid (i.e. Sailor Moon, Power Rangers, Care Bears); reading; writing (no duh); lots of different kinds of music, I really don't know where to start (seriously, I got a little bit of everything in iTunes); Philosophy and Writer's Craft classes (Gr. 12 was teh awesome); David Boreanaz (-drool-); Jared Padalecki (-heartbeat quickening-); Jensen Ackles (-cardiac arrest-); (pine)apples; the colour red

Favourite YA Authors of all Freaking Time:
~ Libba Bray: A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, The Sweet Far Thing
~ A.J. Butcher: Spy High series (I love, love, love these books and am currently working out a way to actually own them)
~ Sarah Dessen: Someone Like You, Dreamland, That Lullaby, The Truth About Forever, Just Listen, Lock and Key
~ D.J. MacHale: Pendragon series (these books kick serious literary ass - each one is bigger and better than the last, and if there ever were to be "the next Harry Potter", it would (and should) be this)
~ J.K. Rowling: Harry Potter series ("Goblet of Fire", "Order of the Phoenix", and "Deathly Hallows", specifically. Sidenote: JKR = awesome for all time)
~ Scott Westerfeld: Uglies series (particularly the first three that made up the original three - holy crap, so intense)

On Constructive Criticism:
I love it. I really, really do. I'm pretty new at this, so any tips you guys could give me on how to improve, I'd really appreciate it. I want to get better at this, and the only way anyone can do that is to learn from their mistakes =) However, the key word here is constructive. I appreciate and accept the fact that not everyone will like what I write, and so if what I write is not to your tastes, then fair enough. If you have ideas on how things could be improved, I will gladly take the time to listen, but if all you have to say is, "I hate it, you suck," or some variation of that, then I'm sorry, but don't bother commenting. Just move on to a story that is more suited to your tastes. I read all my reviews and do take them seriously, but be forewarned, I laugh off all flames I get, and they will merely be used to keep me cold on these long, winter nights (seriously, when is all this snow going to let up? -frowny-)

Quotable BtVS / AtS Quotes:
"Bottom line is, even if you see 'em coming, you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does. So what are we? Helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come, you can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are."
- Whistler, "Becoming, Pt. 1"

"If you think that's enough to kill me, then you really don't know what a Slayer is. Trust me when I say you're gonna find out."
- Buffy Summers to Prof. Walsh, "The 'I' In Team"

Lindsey: "The apocalypse, man. You're soaking in it."
Spike: "I've seen an apocalypse or two in my time. I'd know if one was under my nose."
Lindsey: "Not an apocalypse. The apocalypse. What'd you think, a gong was gonna sound? Time to jump on your horses and fight the big fight? Starting pistol went off a long time ago, boys. You're playing for the bad guys. Every day you sit behind your desk and you learn a little more how to accept the world the way it is. Well, here's the rub... heroes don't do that. Heroes don't accept the world the way it is. They fight it."
Angel: "You're saying everything we do... it's a distraction... to keep us busy from looking under the surface."
Lindsey: "Ding! We have a winner! The world keeps sliding towards entropy and degradation, and what do you do? You sit in your big chair, and you sign your cheques, just like the Senior Partners planned. The war's here, Angel. And you're already two soldiers down."
- "Underneath"

"This exchange-student thing has been a horrible nightmare. They don't even speak American!"
- Cordelia Chase, "Inca Mummy Girl"

Buffy: "Do I like shrubs?"
Xander: "That's between you and your god."
- "What's My Line? Pt. 1"

Xander: "Where is he? Where's the creep that turned me into his spider-eating man-bitch?"
Buffy: "He's gone."
Xander: "Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats the insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!"
Buffy: "Check. No more butt monkey."
- "Buffy Vs. Dracula"

"Angel's lame. His hair goes straight up and he's bloody stupid."
- The Buffybot, "Intervention"

Angel: "You still my girl?"
Buffy:
"Always."
- "Enemies"

Willow: "Oz... don't you love me?"
Oz: "My whole life, I've never loved anything else."
- "Wild At Heart"
