About my writing:
I have a very eclectic, broad genre of tastes in regards to fandoms, as you can probably see. My favorites, currently, are Bones, Young Blades, Sue Thomas: FBeye, and Harry Potter. In regards to pairings, I enjoy writing, and reading, Booth/Brennan, D'Artagnan/Jacqueline, Jack/Sue, and Harry/Hermione.
Hello. Because I see it all the time, I would like to take this chance, though no one may ever read it, to put out there my personal pet peeves, in the hopes that maybe someone will change his/her ways. I am not thinking of any writer in particular, so don't get offended if I seem to be bashing someone, I honestly don't mean to.
PET PEEVES:
1. Not separating paragraphs. They exist for a reason, and I won't really even read stories, even if the summary is really good, if it's just one or two giant paragraphs. This includes separate paragraphs for each piece of dialogue in a conversation.
2. Glaring grammatical and spelling errors. I understand a misplaced comma there, or a run-on sentence, but when there are no capital letters in an entire story, it really makes it difficult to read. And for spelling, I have heard that some people don't like spellcheck, especially for categories that include odd names and places, but there is a way to put those words into your dictionary, and then you never have to worry about spelling Hermione's name right again, because spellcheck will tell you if it's right or not.
3. Stories with more than one plot. What I'm talking about is a fic that starts off telling one story, finishes with it, then moves on to another story, within the same fic. If there is a new plotline that does not directly relate to the previous plot, it belongs in its own fic, plain and simple. Subplots within plots are fine, and are a mark of good writing skill, so keep those coming!
Well, after annoying everyone with my pet peeves, I hope that you will enjoy writing, and enjoy reading! And please, if I break one of my own rules, I would love it if someone called me out on it. I hope that I can keep my writing enjoyable for all, even nitpickers like myself.
