16/1/09: New Year, new set of updatey things. Figured best to start anew or it could end up going on forever. I'm trying to get back into writing but I left my notebook that I use for reference and planning back at uni. I feel lost without it for multi-chapter fics. I realise I'm a complete idiot.

12/2/09: I'm honestly trying to work on a new chapter for Playing with Fire. Trouble is I slipped in the snow and broke my face a bit. You might wonder what that has to do with my writing but I'm finding it difficult considering my right eye is so swollen I can barely see out of it. My depth perception atm is terrible. Anyway I'll keep trying, I'd love to finish Playing with Fire within the year (as such my other fics might not get as much attention) but I make no promises.

27/2/09: Depth perception is well and truly back and has been for over a week. So the next chapter for Playing with Fire is underway. I'm busy with uni work as always but when I do have spare moments I promise I'll be doing my best to get it finished.

6/3/09: It was all going so well. I'd only got one more section to write (admitedly I've still got some biggish decisions to make about this last bit) but now I've had my first assignment dumped on me. God knows how long it's going to take to finish this chapter now.

7/4/09: Having beta issues at the moment but the next chapter is done. If the beta issues take much longer to resolve I'm just gonna have to put it up un-betaed. So there will be many apologies (potentially) about the multitude of mistakes I missed on re-reads. Oh and I'm about half way through planning the next chapter. At this rate it might be possible for me to finish Playing with Fire within the year but again no promises. And finally I'm probably not going to be working on Been a Long Road to Follow or Blood Lust any more. All inspiration for either of them seems to have dried up

1/5/09: Just found out my exams start right after I hand in my last essay. So I won't be able to work on fics for a while. It'll be early June before I can start up on them again.

4/6/09: My exams finished yesterday. WOOP! So I'll be able to start writing fics again soon. Could have done it today but the hang over from last night's celebrations kept me in bed most of the day :P. I'm actually looking forward to being able to write something that isn't academic for a few months before I have to get back to it.

26/6/09: New chapters for fics are with betas. As soon as I get them back I'll post them. I'm actually quite shocked that I've managed to type up new chapter for everything within less than a month. Hopefully I'll keep it up for the summer. When I get back to uni it's likely to be sporadic updating again because I'll be in my final year which means dissertation

31/7/09: So I ended up going back to my uni city for just over a week. A friend of mine graduated so there was a mental night out then my best friend returned from her year abroad in Japan and that meant another mental night out. I took my laptop with me but forgot my notes for chapters. The 2nd Shinrougumi chapter that I just posted could have been done sooner but the stupid laptop wouldn't connect to the internet in my uni house so it had to wait. But I'm back now and ready to get back to work on my fics since I can't find a summer job because of this darn recession.

20/8/09: Since my laptop is shutting down whenever it wants to writing is getting difficult. I keep losing big chunks which is very frustrating. I can't afford to get it looked at yet so have to put up with it for the time being. So the update speed will be slowing down from what it has been the past couple of months.

5/10/09: Well I'm back at uni and still having issues with my laptop occasionally (though it has got a lot better) but I won't be updating any faster. I hope you can all understand that I've got to put my uni work first. I've got a huge written project to do which is already scaring me and I don't have a meeting about it for another 4 days and I've got all year to do it so you'd think that would be plenty of time but I'm still terrified of it. Anyhoo, hopefully I'll get the next chapter of Courtesan finished soon (I'm about half way through it) but after that updates will be very, very slow in coming.

Future Plans: Now Playing with Fire is finshed I'll be working on my other fics in no particular order. I will try and give equal attention to all of them, obviously if I get more inspiration for one that one will get more attention than the others but atm that doesn't seem likely. I really want to start Deserting the Ranks but considering it's going to take a lot of planning on my part to figure out how the different Strawhat members will end up meeting Luffy as a Whitebeard crew member I don't think I'll get very far into the story before uni commitments force me to stop. So I think it's for the best if I wait on it for a while. It's similar with High School Teacher, I need to decide what elements from the two different series of the TV dramas I want to use and how to make them work before I start writing so I'll be sitting on this idea for a bit too.

Deserting the Ranks: An AU One Piece fic. What if Luffy had left with Ace to become a pirate and had ended up a member of Whitebeard’s crew? Over the years he meets the perfect members for his own crew and eventually deserts the Whitebeard pirates. When Ace is sent to retrieve them will he carry out his orders or remember his own promise with Shanks.

High School Teacher: An AU Final Fantasy XII fic loosely based off Koukou Kyoushi (Japanese TV drama). When Balthier cuts class with Vaan the two end up getting separated and he meets Basch. The two of them spend the night together not realising they’ll be meeting again soon as Basch is the new maths teacher at Balthier’s school.
