Current News/Fandoms:

News:

-Musical season and play season are overlapping, although marching band season is over. Check out my LJ (link above) for in depth information if you are that terribly concerned, but basically I am insanely busy with various practices (musical and many other productions I'm involved in), being a senior editor on my school's newspaper, and dance. Oh, and I student directed the Fall Play (which, though it's over, requires a large amount of time for my sanity to recover), so don't expect to see much right now.

Fandoms:

-Powerpuff Girls

Activity in Fandom: Reading, maybe editing/rewriting a past story if I get the chance.

Just reading for now. It's been several years since I had seen the show, then I happened to catch a rerun and remembered how much I loved this show when I was younger. I had a flashback from when I was eight, and I dug through all of my old stuff and found all my old PPG notebooks, CDs, t-shirts, toys, etc. I was always a Buttercup fan, which is funny, because I'm probably the least like her out of the three (because she's a tomboy and I'm SO not).

Anyway, I'm a bit disappointed with the fic action around here. The fics out there are making me hate the Rowdyruff Boys, mostly because they're always paired in a sappy, horrible, OOC romance. I can't take it. I've found some good fics out there (I think maybe ONE RRB/PPG), but it's getting rough, no pun intended. I've been thinking about rewriting/editing my old Buttercup/Elmer (random, I know, but I always loved their awkward friendship), if I have time. I'm starting to get some good ideas, and I'd rather rewrite an old story than come up with a completely new plot. We'll see; I'm a bit busy right now (see above).

-Star Trek 2009

Activity in Fandom: Reading and writing.

Stained is on hiatus right now, as I'm busy (see above). I haven't forgotten about it, though... Real life has gotten in the way of my productivity and inspiration. Fear not, it will be updated someday.

Oh, and thanks to all who have made the Hurt!Jim community/c2 thing as strong and popular as it is. We have a great and expansive archive, several awesome staff members who keep their eyes open for new Jim!whumping stories all the time, and a spectacular number of subscribers. I'm proud to be its manager- I've never been a part of such an active group on here, and I'm thrilled. Stories are added all the time. I don't always get a chance to review all current stories every day, so if you have a story you feel should be added, PM me with your recommendation. It's a good way to get my attention to make you a staff member, too, which I've done. Keep up the great work, guys!

-NCIS

Activity in Fandom: Reading.

Just reading, right now. I love Tony. And Tony angst/hurt!Tony. And Tiva, but only if it's done right. In fact, I like Tony friendship with everyone, specifically Gibbs and McGee. I also like McAbby in small does. However, I'm not a fan of any sort of slash in NCIS... I don't know, it's not the slashiness itself, but the fact that it sort of seems like incest to me. Like McGee and Tony are brothers, and Tony and Gibbs are more father/son or brothers type thing. And why is Tony usually involved, unless it's some Abby/Ziva ship (which I REALLY don't understand). I also don't like Abby/Gibbs, at all. I don't know... I'm picky about my pairings, I guess.

A bit about me:

I'm an insane girl who spends all of my free time singing, tap dancing, listening to her iPod (named Linus), playing DDR, or other crap. I like to obsess about one certain movie, Broadway show, book,or TV show. Most obsessions last anywhere from a month to a year, although I've been having bazillions of weekly obsessions lately.

To you, my name is Marty. I used to have a lengthy explanation of why this is, but I decided to take it off because I felt like it.

My penname comes from the most awesome Crayola crayon color, razzmatazz, which is this rockin' pink color I love. I added an 'a' in there because it sounded cooler. Therefore, we get razzamatazz73. However, until early 2007, I used the penname lucyrocks73, so if you're wondering what happened, that was it. I changed my penname for the first (and probably only) time because I wanted to show that I am a different writer than I was when I was younger.

I'm basically "retired" from full-time fanfic writing; just about everything is discontinued. Any new fics that pop up under this penname are legit, but will probably be random drabbles that can be changed to "complete" without changing anything (stories are better that way anyway). I had a really long note explaining this decision, but I got sick of looking at it everytime I wanted to check something on my profile, so this is the condensed version. The full version is on my DeviantArt if you care.

Anyway, I'm more of an original fiction girl now, so although I'm still addicted to reading fanfics, I just don't have the time or motivation to write them anymore. But I've been getting a little better at reviewing, so that's a plus. But think that it's important to realize that I don't have time for this anymore.

So, I'm still around- but don't expect to see anything huge. Like the fairly popular Star Trek 2009 fic I been worked on for the majority of summer 2009 that started out as a small collection of short stories and blew up into a ff.net community with several staff members and story stats in the hundreds.

But that's it! I swear!

Wishing Only Wounds the Heart is a Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends fic I co-wrote with Dude13, a few years ago (back when I was still lucyrocks73) and it's on his profile. You can read it here.

Favorite Pairings:

Violet/Quigley (A Series of Unfortunate Events).

Klaus/Isadora (A Series of Unfortunate Events, NOT with Fiona. In the words of Elphie Marky: I really hate Fiona. A lot. She was okay in the beginning of the book. And then Klaus was all like "ooo Fiona" and I'm like "no you have to love Isadora b/c she's cooler." And then Fiona was all like "woo I'm a traitor and I'm gonna be on Olaf's team with Fernald" and then she kissed Klaus. I knew it was coming, I heard it before. And then I was like ahhh no. I hate Fiona. Isadora&Klaus forever! This is the infamous "Fiona Rant" that became my guide for the six short months I was active in the ASOUE fandom).

Lucy/Charlie Brown (very unlikely, I know. I always thought it could happen, though.)

Frieda/Schroeder (another unlikely one.)

Mark/Joanne (RENT... once again, a rare and unlikely pair)

Harry/Ginny (HP... canon, much?)

Ron/Hermione (HP)

Harry/Hermione (HP...You'll notice I have Ron with Hermione above. I really don't care.)

Luna/Neville (HP... not exactly canon, but I think it's sweet)

Buttercup/Elmer (PPG... please no RRB. They irritate me to no end because they're always OOC and badly written)

Mac/Goo (Foster's... I know many people who hate it, but if it's written well, than I'm all for it.)

Jim/Pam (The Office... It's canon to a degree. And JAM is the best pairing name EVER.)

Kim/Ron (KP)

Drakken/Shego (KP)

Cherry/Ponyboy (The Outsiders... very hard to find, and it's usually not written very well)

Sweeney Todd/Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd...Adorable.I love how clueless and then annoyed he is about their relationship. And then he kills her... And it's kind of funny.)

Bella/Edward (Twilight)

Kevin/Gwen (Ben 10 Alien Force... I DO NOT like them too sappy though. Not a lot Gwevin fluff for me- just a little)

Ben/Julie (Ben 10 Alien Force... Julie's kind of eh, but she's better than all of the OCs they always pair Ben with. Or Gwen, even though I like the occasional B&G fic, but not always. And I'm not big Bevin person either- it's nice to read about Kevin and Ben sometimes, though.)

Spinelli/Maxie (General Hospital... SIGH!!)

Uhura/Kirk (Star Trek: 2009... I'd like to see it sometime, though I think she's okay if not awkward with Spock)

Tony/Ziva (NCIS... Tiva!)

McGee/Abby (NCIS... no one else. No offense, but Gibbs/Abby disturbs me. A lot.)

Star Trek 2009 Pairings (yes, it needed its own category):

I don't LOVE any pairings in this fandom. I really don't have a OTP. Why? Because I see everyone as so close, that friends-family-lovers jump isn't that hard to imagine. I also support more slash then I ever have before in here, because... Well, Jim is kind of a slut, and I can see him trying to chase anything that moves. And I mean that in the best, most loving of ways.

However, everything depends on how well-written the pairing is. Sappiness makes me want to hurl, as does out-of-character-ness.

So...

Het pairings I support:

-Spock/Uhura (It's okay. I like them together for the purposes of the movie, but it seems kind of Hollywood-reboot forced. If it's done right and not too sappy, I'm okay with it. But I'm not so in love with it that I go searching for it, as I am mostly a Kirk fan.)

-Kirk/Uhura (Eh. Love them as friends, but I also love that awesome tension they had in the movie. I could see them together, and I'm curious to see someone try it.)

I've also read one or two Kirk/Chapel stories I liked, as well as a few Bones/Chapel and Bones/Uhura stories that were very good. It depends on my mood, I'm afraid.

Slash pairings I support:

-Kirk/Bones (LOVE this one a lot. I just can't explain it... It's friends-turned-brothers-turned-romance... I can see it.)

-Kirk/Spock (A given. The granddaddy of all slash pairings, of all fanfiction pairings ever... I'm really picky about this, though, as I find Spock is a character that is not often as well-written or understood as he could be. A very complex character, thought there are some fantastic stories out there.)

Opinions on Slash:

Well, to be honest, it used to make me want to puke. I'm not mean to people who write it or are... well, you know (I get uncomfortable about stuff like this); in fact, I'm friends with MANY people who are. I accept them for who they are, and what they like. It's not really any of my business. But when I became part of the Newsies fandom, it was something I had to learn to enjoy, considering that Sarah (who I loathe) is the only girl in the movie (other then Medda, and she doesn't count because she's way too old for those guys). Slash isn't my favorite thing to read- but I will admit, a few of my favorite stories on here are slash. You won't find me writing any- but I read some. I just don't like really, um, explicit stuff. But I'm like that with everything. And I very much like some of Star Trek slash out there, just because Jim Kirk is such a manwhore anyway that it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he would swing both ways (and it's just an awesome fandom).

So the answer is, yes, I occasionally read slash, even though it isn't anything I'd ever write. I AM NOT against anyone who writes it- I won't bad mouth them. And I'm just fine with that, and I hope you are too.

OC/Mary Sue Rant:

I HATE THEM. ALL of them. And don't get me wrong, I'm guilty too. Irene from El Shaddai won a title (I don't remember which) in the Newsies Miss Mary Sue competition. But I don't like them. Ever. I will admit that I can occasionally find some decent ones, but it's seriously about once a year, and I've been around this site for a while. Why don't I like them? They are usually the author's idea of perfection, and they are awful. There are some fandoms where romance doesn't work except if it is slash (see Slash Opinions above), and the sooner people figure that out, the better.

Little sisters, nieces, cousins, random thieves or ex-criminals, Burger King workers (of which I'm guilty- go read Wishing Only Wounds the Heart). I don't care if there are few or no girls in the fandom who exist or aren't already taken. PLEASE don't make someone up. (cough Star Trek 2009 and Newsies cough cough). C'mon guys... You can do better.

And what do I hate even more? Mary Sue slash. It's not the slash issue, not at all. But people usually invent Mary Sues because of a gender-specific character shortage. If you're going to write slash, I'd encourage you to use CANON characters, please.

So my message, the thing I BEG of you: DON'T WRITE OCs, no matter how desperate you are! And if you must, go Google yourself a Mary Sue Litmus Test. And don't lie to yourself. It's ridiculous.

This isn't meant to offend anyone, but it's true! MARY SUES (sigh, and Gary Stus) are obnoxious. And EVERYWHERE!

Summary of me in three words/phrases:

Dance. Dr Pepper. Music. (yes, that was on here before the "Beets. Bears. Battlestar Galactica" phenomenon on the Office)
