Author has written 4 stories for Teen Titans, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. This profile has been abandoned by its author, but he wishes to keep it active as a reminder of what a terrible writer he was. I'm still going to put the MPAA ratings and reasons at the beginning of each of my stories. It's quite useful actually, and I think everyone should use it, that way we'll always know what to expect. Name: Is strictly confidential Age: 15 Hobbies: Writing, filmmaking, and critiquing stories Basically, I'm just a film buff trying to grow up to be a great director, writer, etc. I also want to give good, detailed critiques to people. Not many readers give constructive criticism anymore, but I want to change that. Stories Under Construction: Avatar: the Last Airbender: Untitled Comedy (Pilot) Katara is three months pregnant, and everyone is trying to figure out how and when it happened. For some reason, Sokka is the prime suspect. Untitled Drama - Two years after the war was won, Aang and his friends pay a surprise visit to Meng. Those two years must have been really hard on her. Basis for Reviewing Fanfictions: I work with the star rating system (zero to four stars) because it's easier for me and the writer to comprehend. Also, it's because Roger Ebert and James Berardinelli use it, and they are my favorite critics. I only review stories that are 5,000 words or higher. Zero stars: None even worth mentioning. Half star: Terrible story with almost nothing going on for it. One star: Just a plain bad story. No redeeming qualities or not many. One-and-a-half stars: Just a step below mediocre. Two stars: Average, mediocre story. Reading it won't really change your life. Two-and-a-half stars: A story that's not exactly mediocre and has the potential to be good if not for a few problems. Three stars: Good story. Receives a recommendation Three-and-a-half stars: A story that raises above the normal entertainment or good story and is worthy of a strong recommendation. Four stars: Hands down, one of the few excellent stories written. A must-read with great characterization, a clear, strong storyline, etc. This is not as detailed as it should be, but I'm still working on it. Reviewed Avatar: the Last Airbender fanfictions (alphabetically/by rating) 1. Iroh's Folly (four stars) (...the first "Avatar" fanfiction to...be: original but faithful, and very well written...it's also funny, suspenseful, and, most importantly, human.) 2. Turbulent Alliance (four stars) (...sets its story within the framework of the original show’s canon, but merely uses it as a springboard into the deeper, unexplored depths.) 3. The Journey (three-and-a-half stars) (...one of the few fanfictions that deserves to be read AND remembered.) 4. Stuck With You (three stars) (...has all the elements of a recommendable short story and is told with much creativity in Katara's point of view.) 5. A Blind Reality (two-and-a-half stars) (Subtly is all that's missing from making this a worthwhile fanfiction.) 6. A Wish Gone Wrong (two-and-a-half stars) (...pure entertainment from start to finish.) 7. The Scars of Defeat (two stars) (...crafted well and easy to read, but not really interesting.) 8. The Weeping Sun (two stars) (There's a certain degree of confusion and grammatical error that keeps you from getting completely absorbed.) 9. Air & Water (one-and-a-half stars) (Careful planning and originality must not have had its say in how this fanfiction should be done.) 10. Colder Than Ice (one-and-a-half stars) (...strange and confusing...) 11. Peace? (one star) (A combination of bad plotting, hardly comprehendible writing, undeveloped characters, and plain screwed up logic make it one of the most entertaining experiences. For all the wrong reasons...) 12. The Night Before (one star) (...devoid of a greater sense of characterization, and relies entirely too much on its cheesy plot and dialogue to get it through.) 13. Slipped Away (half star) (...expecting something entertaining or challenging was pretty foolish...) Greatest Avatar: the Last Airbender Fanfictions A list dedicated the the very best fanfictions that should always be remembered. This is list is under construction and is very personal. In no particular order: Iroh's Folly Turbulent Alliance My most reviewed story right now is Harry Potter and the Nerd's Rock Collection. | |||||||||
