"Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don't feel I should be doing something else." - Gloria Steinem Crimson-Kiss 17 Welcome to my profile page! My name is Megan and I am a student with a passion for the written word. I have been reviewing stories on this site for a number of years and finally posted one of my stories a couple of months ago. Presently I am trying to muster up the time to continue with my story "Twisted Satisfaction" and have become an editor. I am a self- proclaimed media buff with a love for movies, television and music. I LOVE/SHIP: Puck/Rachel (Glee), Eric/Sookie (True Blood), Brooke/Lucas (OTH), Spike/Buffy (BtVS), Angel/Cordelia (Angel), Wesley/Lilah (Angel), Nate/Serena (Gossip Girl), Chuck/Blair (Gossip Girl), Draco/Hermione (Harry Potter), Jayne/Kaylee (Firefly), and Mal/Inara (Firefly). I have a tendency too, on average, cheer for the "underdog" couples. Parings where the two individuals are quite different in character but seem to compliment each other well. Basically, they prove that opposites attract. I WILL ALSO READ: Serena/Chuck (Gossip Girl), Spike/Faith (BtVS), Haley/Nathan (OTH). I HATE: Lucas/Peyton (OTH), Hermione/Ron (Harry Potter), Connor/Cordelia (Angel) and Angel/Buffy (BtVs). I understand that some writers strongly believe in these couples and I am willing to respect that. However I will not write about them in a love relationship under any circumstance. Case closed. I WATCH: Glee, True Blood, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I LISTEN TO: Relient K, Theory of a Deadman, Jack's Mannequin, Placebo, Snow Patrol, Dashboard Confessional and Nickelback. PLEASE READ: I would like to express my personal opinions on the following topic, to inform anyone who plan to review my stories, or any story for that matter. Flames: To most people flames are a cruel insult made by a faceless person, a comment made to personaly degrade them and their writing. Flames can hurt people and even shatter their self-esteem. So now that we have defined what they are and how they make some people feel let me say that I have two sides to take on this argument. 1) Some flames are intentionally mean and hold no constructive critisim whatsover. Those types of comments should be dealt with in a calm matter and should then be forgotten. Obviously this person who flamed your story has no positive feedback to give and is therefore of no use to you. 2) Other flames are not actually insulting your writing but are actually trying to improve it. These comments have constructive critism and are stated in a mature manner. Now there are some writers who get extreamely offended by constructive critism, immedietely getting defensive. However, a good writer knows that it is better to have someone other than yourself review your writing since they can spot errors that you cannot. If you cannot take constructive critism than you cannot write to the best of your ability and therefore will simply not succeed at writing profeshionaly. When it comes to my stories, I am very open to constructive critism and will try to use people's comments to improve my story and my writing skills. Pure and cruel flames though, will be used to make grilled- cheese sandwhiches. Note- If you happen to be looking for an editor for your fanfiction, please let me know, chances are that I can find some time to do so. So, now that you have been informed on everythin "me", please feel free to check out my latest story. Have a wonderful day and most importantly, keep writing! -Crimson | |||||||||
