For all of you that have read my latest chapter of One in a Million, I promised a sneak preview for a new story that I'm working on. It's called With Open Arms. I'm not going to give away the pairing quite yet, but once it is posted you will all find out who it is. So here is the sneak preview and I hope you all like it. Enjoy! With Open Arms: Sneak Preview I never used to welcome death. I never begged for it. There was a time when I was completely happy with life. A time when I lived everyday to its fullest. At least so I thought. When I met him, everything changed. Everything I thought I knew about life paled in comparison to the life I began to have with him. He was my best friend, my lover, my soul mate. Once I had him in my life, I knew that if he were ever to leave, I would no longer have the desire to live. With him, it didn’t seem like day to day life. It seemed like heaven on Earth. So, it would make sense now, that my life, each and every single day, is complete Hell. The light that was once in my life has now faded to nothing short of pitch black, except for a shimmering twinkle once in a blue moon when there’s a break in my medications to allow me to dream of his statuesque figure; his enamoring jade green eyes; the heart-warming smile I would always receive upon arriving anywhere in the vicinity of him. But all of that is gone now. Obsolete. And it will never be seen again. I no longer live my life to the fullest. I’m no longer happy with my life, if you can even call it a life anymore. I beg for an end to this torturous monotony. And I welcome death. With open arms. Xxxxxxxxxx 4 years earlier Have you ever watched raindrops trickle down a window? How they’re so much like one’s life? They travel down the glass all alone for a good portion of their journey; sometimes even the complete trip, they are alone. But then there are times when two droplets of rain, having already blazed their individual trails behind them, meet at one point on the window, the world. They meet and then they become one single, solitary raindrop and behind them, there is a trail. An even larger one than the two had blazed before. And they don’t separate. They’re together forever, until the end of their journey. If only life were like that in the end. I sighed as I stared out the window of my home, watching as the rain continued to pour down through the woods. I wished it would stop. There was so much I could’ve been doing; jogging, four-wheeling, motocross. But, no, the wind, the rain, the thunder and lightning were all preventing that. I folded my arms across my chest and turned away from the window, finding it utterly depressing to keep staring my misfortune in the face. I dropped my hands to my sides and began tidying up my already spotless living room. I lit a fire in the fireplace to warm my tiny home from the chilly spring air. The fire had no sooner started when a knock sounded on my front door. I stared at it curiously. No one ever came through this neck of the woods. I had no neighbors that were relatively close. My family was long gone. I got up from my knees in front of the fireplace and walked over to the door to see a figure, shrouded in a raincoat, the hood pulled over their head to shield them from the rain. Even though all the common sense in the world told me not to, I slowly opened the door and looked at the figure. Keep it rockin' Gabby P.S.
