Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter.

Hello Harry Potter fans.

If you're reading this profile, then you've come across one of my three Harry Potter stories...either that or you're a previous reader who's coming back to see if there's anything new.

Honestly, there probably won't be anything new in the near or intermediate future. Every once in a while I get the urge to write something new for Harry, but it's not that often really, and I'm busy enough with work and other things that I don't have the time to devote to it the way it deserves. Plus, and this can't be discounted: The only detailed ideas I really have are for a sequel to As Yet Untitled, which does not have a terribly large fanbase. So I would be more or less writing to myself, and that's not practical.

But anyway, here's a quick guide to the three stories I've written:

Harry Potter and the Final Straw is a Sixth Year story, written from December 2004 to June 2005. Please keep that in mind, those dates, they are before the final two books. So any info in those books doesn't count for the story. Straw was my first try at this kind of thing, and it's kind of messy, another thing to keep in mind. I'm always amused/irritated by reviewers who expect professional caliber work from some complete amateur doing this in his/her free time. Still, it's endured in it's own way, and I get about half a dozen reviews per month on it, even though it is over 5 years completed.

The Brave New World is my opus, a story covering the final two years of Harry's schooling, and is set primarily in the United States. I'm an American myself of course, so I decided to move him over. I was going to do this with Straw, but changed my mind. I didn't here. World was written from December 2005 to September 2007, with a five month break when I lost interest/had writer's block. It too is a bit messy as far as style goes, and there are tons of outside characters, by definition given the principal setting. It's probably the most polarizing of the three stories as far as reaction goes. The message boards at various Harry sites just loathe it, while reviews were largely positive. Word to the wise: World is very long, though not the longest fic on here, so be prepared. A sequel to this story is not out of the question, as long as I walk the epilogue back.

As Yet Untitled, which in real life is the title to a long forgotten song, is the story that wasn't going to happen. I used so much stuff with World that I just though there wasn't no angle left for me to write. Well I found one, and on a whim I decided to roll with it. Untitled was written from May 2008 to July 2009. Aside from one plot point it's canon compliant throughout, and follows Harry as an adult, starting roughly a year after The Battle of Hogwarts. It's about politics and relationships, with not a ton of magic really, at least nothing new. I think this is the best of the three as far as style goes, and the characters are the most canon friendly of the three stories as well. So it was a lot like a writing exercise for me, as well as a response to all the canon cops who pounded on me for the other two stories, to prove that I could write in that vein. A sequel is possible, but again, not for awhile.

I do appreciate the people who take the time to read and review the chapters, especially given that some time has passed since they were all completed. I should tell you that I only fully read the positive ones though, any flaws in the stories are ones I've long been aware of/alerted to, and I generally stop reading the negative reviews after one sentence.

Anyhow, thanks for checking out my profile, and for reading my stories. They occupied countless hours of my life over a 5 year period, but it was a very rewarding way to while away the hours, and I'm proud of the results.

Thanks,

Alex
