My Offsite (HPDM) Fic Rec's

There are many brilliant Harry/Draco stories out there for everyone to read. Although many can be found right here on FanFiction, sometimes you need to have some Gryffindor courage and venture out of FF. Here're some of my personal favorites I've stumbled upon in my travels.

Wildfire is a brilliant Harry/Draco three-shot. I think this has to be the only dark fic I've read and enjoyed and said I'd read it again. It's not really for those who prefer fluffy, romantic scenes and sweet, loving kisses; it's for the audience who is constantly looking for anger, angst, pain, sorrow, and everything overwhelming that mirrors their own. It left a horribly bitter, ashy taste in my mouth, but I enjoyed reading Wildfire immensely.

Secrets is... it's just impossible to explain its amazing qualities in their entirety. The author manages to create an alternate universe within the Harry Potter series that is both believable and enjoyable. Harry's relationship with Draco, as well as some other important Slytherins, progresses perfectly, and I was able to envision all of this happening in the world of Rowling's, had she not been set on Harry being straight and living a happily-ever-after life with Ginny.

A Szerelem Labirintusa is a gorgeous Harry/Draco creature!fic. In my numerous searches for stories featuring humanoid beings like Veela, vampires, and werewolves, I came across this one-shot, and whenever I think of good creature stories, this particular one always comes to the forefront of my mind. I enjoyed its lilting, dance-around-each-other attitude, as well as the descriptions of the labyrinths; it makes me want to travel to Hungary, just to see these dark mazes.

Irresistible Poison... I believe that this was one of my first Harry/Draco-shipping stories that I'd ever read, because when I stumbled upon it not too long ago, I recalled reading it in the distant past. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I rediscovered it: the story's plot is brilliant, and I enjoyed how things took a nosedive near the end. Draco loved Harry, not voluntarily, but due to the influence of a potion, and that was the basis for a romantic relationship between the two of them. It's all about one's control over the other, and being honorable. It's a must-read for any true Harry/Draco fan.

Starts with a Spin (the website it's featured on is down for some reason...)was probably the first Harry/Draco fic I ever read, and it definitely brought me into the occult-like obsession with this pairing. It was an immensely enjoyable read for me, and its brilliance was made apparent throughout the fic. I loved how a simple game of spin-the-bottle changed Harry and Draco's relationship.

Transfigurations is AMAZING. I found it in a H/D starter kit. Definitely read it. (:

Harry Potter and the Inconvenient Condition is just so... so... Augh! If you're a fan of Vampire!Harry and fate, you'll adore this. It's hilarious, sexy, and full of lovely, lovely bloodplay.
Really, I never would've thought that fooling around with a scalpel would be so hot.

Reparations, and its sequel, Foundations, are two stories worth pulling an all-nighter to read--which I'm sure I did, more than once. Reparations is more plot than fluff, while the Foundations focuses mainly on the blossoming romance between Harry and Draco. I usually don't like original characters all that much in fan fiction, but Saras_Girl does it right in these two stories! And her creations within the Harry Potter universe (ex: wet fish hex) are ingenious. Serious kudos to this amazing author.

The Lodger is love. You know those authors who attempt to wield depression and the like, and fail horribly? Well, Mad Martha pulls it off brilliantly, and Harry and Draco's relationship progresses believably till the very close. A truly enjoyable read!

There are, of course, many more breathtaking Harry/Draco fics out there to be read, and I've barely skimmed the tip of the iceberg with my fic rec's.
