Author has written 31 stories for Harry Potter. Please pardon my mess. I've recently realized that the formatting is seriously not right for many of my fics, and am working to fix this problem. Rather than tear them down and repost, I'm just going to update them with properly-formatted versions. This may skew the dates somewhat, for which I apologize. I am not currently writing anything, due to some rl issues. I am, however, cross-posting stuff that I have previously posted elsewhere, in a bid to sort of standardize the archiving of my fics. Reviews and other comments are always welcome, of course. It drives me insane and makes me want to smack people. Asteria instead of Astoria - I've read the debates, and how Jo supposedly wrote it as Asteria on the Black family tree, etc. DH has it as Astoria, and I can't stand to read it any other way (plus, 'Astoria' sounds more regal and aristocratic and British, if you say it out loud). Related peeve: nicknaming Astoria 'Tori' (augh). Songfics - This is a fanfiction trend I just don't get. I can see basing a story on a song, or quoting a song at the beginning of a chapter, but inserting song lyrics in the middle of the story is the second-quickest way to completely ruin the flow of the piece. Related peeve: characters referring to bands that are so OOC as to be laughable (i.e. British wizards listening to American pop). Fanfiction profiles full of cut-and-paste nonsense - This is another trend that I do not understand. If you have nothing worthwhile to say about yourself, that's fine. Please do not make me scroll through pages of meaningless unoriginal trivia to get to stories lists. It's irritating, and nobody really reads that crap anyway. | |||||||
