Author has written 11 stories for X-Men: The Movie, and Lord of the Rings.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have disabled anonymous reviews. I will not be re-enabling them for the foreseeable future. Someone here at FFNet has taken it upon themselves to harass me through anonymous reviews and quite frankly, I'm sick of it. You got something to say to me? Now you don't get a choice. Sign in or shut up.

Ok, this profile of mine is in desperate need of an overhaul, so here I am...Hi! I'm Rowena, 30something mom and writer of fanfic centered around the best character ever, Wolverine of the X-Men...I am currently working on the 5th installment in an ongoing series featuring Logan and an OC...the 4th part of the series has just been completed...HOWEVER, i sometimes get distracted by other plot bunnies, who can be pretty demanding for attention, so I actually have FOUR total stories starring the most Wolvelicious one in the works...in no particular order, these are:

"Headhunter": A crossover with the Chris Snow books by Dean Koontz

"Evil Plot Bunny" (obviously not the real title): A "what if" kind of concept, kinda hard to explain

"New Evil Plot Bunny" (see previous entry): Logan and a female OC forced by circumstances to wait out a blizzard together (working out to be kinda smutty, actually...might be too much for FFN!)

SO, why did i tell you all of this? Because I'm going to start posting chapters of the other stories in the next few days...unlike my main series, I make NO promises at all in regards to updates for them...why? Because these are the stories I work on when I'm frustrated with the regular series...sometimes a scene isn't developing the way I want it to, sometimes the muse and I disagree about what's happening next...either way, there are occasions where putting it down for a bit helps me work out the kinks and these are the stories I work on when that happens...I'm going to start with "Headhunter" and if I get to the point where there's nothing left to post or it's finished, whichever comes first...the rest will follow when I'm happy with what I have...or I come up with titles...:)

In the spirit of writing in general, I've found a very cool website that starts with "Part of Speech" and goes through the entire gauntlet of writing nuances: http://www.towson.edu/ows/index.htm

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I have recently joined up with three other writers from here at FFN, namely Dee (MidLifeCrisis), Rhia (RhiannonUK) and Joe (joegood2003) to make an archive site for our stories. It's called Blood 'n Adamantium and you can find it at http://www.geocities.com/bloodnadamantium/. We will be posting things there that we can't post here due to the ratings, but there won't be anything so explicit that it'll make your hair curl...:) We also have a forum we set up for discussion of our stories, but that's not required to hang out...there's plenty of other stuff to do in there too! So come on and hang out with us at http://bloodadamantium.proboards56.com/index.cgi

Hope to see you there!

Ok, we've all seen them...phrases, sentences, whole passages in other stories that make you laugh and the first thing you think is "I wish I'd thought of that!" Well, my beta reader Turiel Tincdaniel and I have started a LiveJournal community to share what we all think are the best of the best quotes from our favorite stories...:) And by "we all", we mean YOU too! We don't read every fandom and I'm sure there's plenty we're missing...so come on over and share your favorite funny stuff with us!

I have decided to rename this portion of my profile "The Gallery of Cowards". Why, you may ask? Simple. This section is for my previous anonymous troll (because we all know that cowards don't want anyone finding out who they really are) and for my newest troll/"flamer", Arkham Boy. First, the anonymous reviewer and everything they had to say:

""Now that you all have PROOF that i'll post a new chapter for a new reviewer, give it a go! Heck, you could end up getting this whole story in about three weeks as opposed to almost two months:) Just click the little "go" button, say hello or something and poof! Update for you:)"

WoW so review whore bitch- you even review yourself with cursing imaginary flamers??

You really think that whoever left an annonymous review (if there was one) will come back to read you own review to UR story?? LOL you flame but couldn't have the basic IQ of simply ignoring one so called flame.

O go and rant about the bad grammar in a review. 30 plus and she still hovers in a section for which she is over-age. Madam, writer with half a real talent don't hover at this site.
Or you may start with-

I'm a mom- and I bully kids , makes me feel better about my own mediocrity in writing. I flame because I have great grammar skills and others don't- and I wish I could write something which people will want to read in real life.

Oh oh oh don't forget when I tell you that you suck; humble down and accept it otherwise I will keep on ranting all over the site about how ungreateful you were-
See it is the writers like you who don't accept advice of the great me that I FLAME. Now time for me to go and rant at F/R forum. Come now lick my shoes till then I, the great Rowena deVandal, will go to my flamer forum. Time for me to present my for a good .

I'm jilted reviewer so I flame- " I poured my heart in the review and moron author didn't pay me atention-boohoo? How will I teach them boo hoo)-one word for likes of you- pathetic.

I can create a sock puppet account and leave a name- But you are such a quarellsome, bickering bitch that I would block you from replying back anyway. Do you have any man in your life - I pity him- Tendecy to over criticize and repeating it, will lead you to a lonely life sooner or later- a woman who will be alone, sad and even whose cat will scratch her. Or maybe you go for doormats.

Have a good laugh- afterall you enjoy flames. It was very tame anyway. I'm too kind to be cruel."

Now, whoever the hell you THINK you are, I say the same thing to you that I said the the faux Flame Rising: Grow a pair, man up and flame me with a signed review. At least I have the stones to do that, unlike some people who choose to remain nameless and for what? Afraid I'll revenge flame you? I've got better things to do with my time, sweetpea.

And for your information, I've been reading X-Men comics for a good long time. I'd be willing to bet that I started reading them before you were born. I watched the cartoon while you were still in diapers. A good story transcends all boundaries, including age, race, religion and anything else you can throw in my face. I'm also pretty sure you don't even know what a "review whore" is. See, unlike a true review whore, I don't hold my story hostage if I don't get reviews. My stories are updated on a very regular schedule, except for a brief period when personal issues got in the way. My comment has NOTHING to do with story updates and everything to do with the simple curiosity of who is reading my stories, nothing more.

What I find pathetic is that you basically told me who you are. You left my story to visit the Fireplace? Guess I'll know who you are soon enough. Unlike you, I've never attacked the writer, only the writing. Have fun here at FFNet while it lasts. I'll figure out who you are and we'll see which one of us is removed from the site first.

TROLL UPDATE: If you're reading this, trolly troll, take notes. I won't be keeping any more of your reviews in my review box for any longer than it takes to laugh my ass off at you and share it with my buddies. You have said nothing to me that I haven't heard before and since you lack the guts to identify yourself, I'm over it. Buh-bye!

And now, Arkham Boy. You can see his review on "I Remember It Like It Was Yesterday", and in the spirit of fairness, here is my response to that review:

Hi there!

First off, thanks for having the stones to stand for what you believe in (though I wonder if you would have left a signed review if I still had anonymous reviews enabled). I appreciate your candor, though I think you kind of missed the point of the story.

This is what we call "tongue in cheek" humor. It was born out of a discussion about self-inserts and how unrealistic they really are. So I decided to explore what might really happen if a real person did find themselves suddenly transported into one of the universes that suffers the most from self-inserts. So, let's take this one point at a time, shall we?

Did the self-insert understand the language right off the bat? No.

Did she fall in love with one of the canon characters? No.

Does she have a previously unrealized power or ability that only "woke up" when she found herself in Middle Earth? No.

Did she take up a bow and shoot better than any elf in all of Middle Earth? No.

Essentially, I wrote what would probably really happen to any Plain Jane that woke up in that world. If the humor value went over your head, that's not my fault.

Thanks for reviewing!

Ro

As you can see, I felt that I addressed his points in a concise and polite manner. However, this is his response to me:

And i have to wonder if you would have delted my anonymous review if theoption was there because you couldn't stomach the critque? funnily enough thatflame rising, dosen't he have 'several' signed accounts and is dedicated toflameing anyone but that's ok with you, including multiple accounts? A case ofdo as I say but not do as I do?  Is it neccsary to point out to a mother who is 30 in how not to waffle out anarguemnt. Your comments literally skipped the entire question and point thatwas riased, which was: Was it a waste of time writing it? Given how you wroteit and the lack of maturity in your responce then I'll take it as a yes sinceyou basically said in your last comments that it lacked of all effort intoanything creative. Now comming from someone who is gearing up for the NationalNovel Writing Month I have to say you offered a weak point of argument (andstructure) You want to talk to me about the rule of self inserts? I find Dr.Merlin's Guide to Fanfiction to offer more of an insight into the tips andguide into fanfiction then 'your' answer. I don't mind people replying, just as long as they something worth saying.Something that your having great difficulty in doing right now.

So, how did he make the "Gallery of Cowards"? Because he blocked me so I can't respond to him. Only a coward who felt their arguments weren't worth the bandwidth they take up would feel the need to take their toys and go home in an attempt to get the last word. Well, we could have kept this private, Boy, but I do have answers for all your questions and they are going HERE.

No, I wouldn't have deleted your anonymous review. But I feel that if someone truly believes what they are saying and they have the stones to say it, they should stand by those words with a signed review. I'd apologize for forcing you out in the open, so to speak, except I'm not sorry.

As for my previous "flames", they were personal attacks and made almost no mention of the story itself. I understand that a classic flaming strategy is to make them as personal as possible, but when a person follows me around to all the forums I frequent with the sole purpose of finding things I've said to quote out of context, that goes beyond mere flaming and into harrassment. Better people than the both of you have flamed me on other forums. I wouldn't even call what you left me a true flame, more like a sputtering spark. For future reference, if you're going to flame someone, it's a good idea to make sure you have a better grasp of grammar, spelling and punctuation than the person you're flaming.

As for F/R, he does what he does for his reasons and I do what I do for mine. You'll have to ask him directly for the best answer to that, but I assure you, you won't last long on his forum. As for me, I have one account, this one, and I always leave signed reviews.

Was my story a waste of time writing it? No, it wasn't. Everyone else who's reviewed it are intelligent people who obviously understand tongue-in-cheek humor. It's not my fault you didn't get it. But then, I have a feeling that you didn't necessarily leave your review for the purpose of reviewing, but because you're pissed off about something and felt that my review board was the best place to air that complaint. I don't see where I ever said anything about it lacking effort or anything of that nature in my response to you, so besides the aforementioned grammar, spelling and punctuation problems, I can only guess that you have trouble with reading comprehension as well. Might I suggest paying attention in school? It'll work wonders for the rest of your life.

Since I won't be blocking you, I'm sure you'll have a response for me that I'll see in my inbox soon enough. Just remember, as long as I can't respond to you privately, it'll all be left here for the entire world to see. I'm sure you thought you got the last word when you blocked me, but as you can see that tactic didn't work. If you're smart, you'll quit while you have a chance. But I don't think you will. See ya!

In the spirit of sharing things that make us all laugh, one of my beta readers, Turiel Tincdaniel, sent me a list of rules for Halloween and Christmas from the Xavier Institute...this was authored by mice and wal_lace on livejournal and i'm sure a search for them on that site will help you find it...however, i do feel the need to share #17 on the rules for Christmas...visual thinkers, please put down your drinks...i'd hate for you to spit all over your computer...:)
