Here I am: Mary, 26 years old now, graduate journalism student living in the cold and peaceful province of Quebec, Canada. Brown-eyed, brown-haired, the absolute commonplace, considered by my mother as a quiet, reasonable and sensible person.

At least, that was before I discovered Phantom of the Opera.

Since then it's been a revelation, a raging fire. I've had rages of that nature before (X-Men, Imperial Russia, Thailand and Viggo Mortensen, to name a few), but never that strong. I've seen the movie five times in theatres and countlessly since its DVD release, re-read the original novel and every other book that was in any way connected to the story (about six) , rented former adaptations of Phantom(five), all of Gerry Butler's movies (nine) and bought seven of them, disrupted my bedroom decoration to match my new full-size-poster-of-the-new-movie-transferred-on-canvas-and-framed-in-mahogany, own soundtracks, books and a shameful number of memorabilia items, traveled to New York in March expressly to see the Broadway show, and I've heard these damn voices singing songs in my head for the last six months. Much worse, I sing along with them everywhere I go, with that awful voice of mine.

I suppose I should be glad my parents and boyfriend haven't locked me in an asylum yet :)

But while I was trying to overcome my despair that Christine didn't end up with the Phantom (how incredibly stupid from her), I found this site and discovered, fortunately for my sanity, that I wasn't alone in my obsession.

So you've got it. I love Phantom and I am an E/C shipper. As long as a story is well-written and plausible, I'll read it and enjoy. I
don't think I'll ever write my own stories though. French is my mother tongue and despite the fact I understand English pretty well, I don't
think much of myself as a writer in that language. My grammar sucks, my vocabulary leaves much to be desired, and if it took me a whole hour to compose this profile, you can be sure I won't be masochistic enough to write endless pages. Besides, I don't have enough imagination.

But you can count on me to write plenty of reviews, constructive comments (I'm not the flaming type) and encouragements to young writers.

Good luck everyone and thank you for writing all these delightful stories!
