Likes and Dislikes

I love writing. I've been partaking in this fine leisure activity since the tender age of seven and have spent the past thirteen years honing my craft. I'm still not done, nor will I likely ever finish, but I will continue producing written pieces of the highest quality I am capable of and hope they are sufficient enough to one day get published. Generally, I write in the fantasy genre, but lately, I've been dabbling in poetry, short stories, and other genres. Fanfiction is great practice and gives me a spectacular way to get feedback and input on my style, which is certainly more ornate than what is typical of post-modern literature. It should thus come as no surprise that I pretty much live for books: reading them, writing them, and writing about them. It is a tri-faceted reason to exist, and I love every minute of it. I also love anime and am proud of my 47-series collection. My favorite at the moment is Bleach despite numerous fillers, and if I tried to list all the anime I enjoyed here, I would waste away before I finished. My dad's chili is the best on the planet; when I move out, I have no unearthly idea how I'm going to live without it. I'm a food person, but I don't like anything that swims (with the exception of a swimming chicken, cow, pig, turkey, or deer). Chocolate is tasty... I could live off of dark chocolate if I wouldn't get a stomach ache. I mainly listen to rock music... symphonic metal is definitely my favorite genre, with my main bands being Nightwish and Within Temptation. I also love all my fans, not just for their praise, but for their encouragement and support.

But to every like, there is a dislike. I can't stand people who think they're always right, people who are unfairly judgmental (i.e. flamers, but constructive critics are definitely excluded), or people who have a superiority complex. I also hate bees with a passion... I am an apiphobic at heart since I had a handful of traumatic experiences as a child. I could live without the ideal beauty being on a magazine cover. Politics are boring and annoying (is anyone else sick of Obama and Hilary taking jabs at each other?). Fast food is disgusting. People who make fun of people who read are irritating (perhaps I should hit them with a dictionary...) I also don't like people who are pushy with their religions. And bad drivers... like, those people who go 40 mph on the freeway, and those people who tailgate you when you're going 10 over. Both are equally frustrating. For some reason, most of these are people... but I must add one more category: those who say it is my civil duty to get married. May you all one day know the kind of love I know, the love between a writer and her books (not just those I write, but with books in general).

Random Facts

~I was on a competitive swim team for five years. I quit swimming because I wanted to write more.

~My favorite color is orange. In fact, the walls of my room are orange; such is my love for orange.

~I turn into a megabitch when hungry and exhausted, but typically, it must be both in unison. By hungry, I mean I haven't eaten in 7 hours. By exhausted, I mean less than 6 hours of sleep.

~I love my cat. Lots. In fact, she was the inspiration when I started writing all those years ago. She's almost seventeen years old and was born on my birthday, May 31. So, I get to celebrate my birthday with her, which is always a blast and a half.

~Don't take this as bragging... despite the fact that I'm an English major, I got As in both Calculus 1 and 2 in college. Now, who was it that said English majors can't do math?

~I'm a morning person and a night person. I can rise with the sun under the right circumstances, and I can also stay up until 3 am under different circumstances.

~I have no definite religion, but if I had to pinpoint myself, I'd say I'm more Taoist than anything else.

Original Work

As previously stated, I'm dabbling in short stories and poetry at the moment. If anyone wishes to see any of my original work, feel free to look me up on DeviantArt. If I ever get anything published, I'll throw a notice up here for those of you who wish to look out for it. Otherwise, feel free to enjoy my fanfiction.

End Note

Thanks to all my readers, reviewers, stalkers/watchers, fans, etc. I know I say this at the end of every chapter, but I honestly don't know how I could keep going without you guys. I wish nothing but good things from you, no matter what side of the globe you are reading from!
