A Singular Destiny is one of the latest ST books to be released (see below).
The last few pages are dedicated to this Typhon Pact

Here are my speculations & general breakdown. I look at them as an anti-Federation.
It's a group of the Tholians, Breen, Gorn, Romulan Star Empire, Tzenkethi, and Kinshaya.
If that's not the opposite of the Federation, I don't know what is.

If you don't know who the Tzenkethi or the Kinshaya are, don't worry -
I believe they're only in the books, so you're wouldn't know who they are
if you are solely a show/movie fan.

Not much to say for the Tholians, Breen, or the Gorn...
they're the same creatures they've always been.

~~~~HOWEVER~~~~

There's one thing I do want to point out -
the Romulan people have been split in two!

There are those who follow Tal'Aura - the woman who took over as
Praetor after Shinzon's death in Nemesis; they call themselves the Romulan Star Empire.

Then there are those who follow Donatra - she's the one who betrayed Tal'Aura
and helped the TNG crew in Nemesis; they are the Imperial Romulan State.

There are the minor details, of course, but for all intents and purposes,
Tal'Aura=bad
Donatra=good.
Donatra is actually working with the Federation and Starfleet -
I can forsee good things coming of her breakaway from Tal'Aura.

Okay - I've had my recommendation for Distant Shores up here long enough - it's time for a new set.

There's a group of TNG books that are really, really, REALLY (did I say really?) good:

After Greater than the Sum, there is a trilogy, called Destiny. ZOMIGOSH. o.O

I about died reading those... Oh, and the books after Destiny are starting to come out.

There've also been a few new DS9 books out recently - The Soul Key & Never-Ending Sacrifice.
Both VERY good, though Never-Ending Sacrifice took a bit to get started. The DS9 timeline in The Soul Key is still a bit behind the TNG/Titan/Voy one;
i.e. Ezri doesn't have her own ship yet - she's still only 'thinking' about transferring. A word of warning though -
you WILL be lost if you try to jump in without reading the books before this one. I nearly got lost and I've read every one. O.O
On another note - Never-Ending Sacrifice is a bit dry at the beginning (first 90 pages or so) but after that it picks up considerably
and fills in the blanks a bit, especially with the Cardassian's side of the Dominion War.

The anime has been restarted from where it left off! It is following the manga's timeline and will do so until the end (as the manga has been completed already). The new episodes are being broadcast weekly online at http://www.shonensunday.com/anime/index.php?sid=10&ep=1 and is also accessible from Takahashi Rumiko's website - RumicWorld.com.

I've already watched the first one and if they keep this up, it'll be awesome! Squee!!
