Author has written 16 stories for Harry Potter, and Twilight. I'm a 30-something year old mother of 4. I read and write fanfiction in what little spare time that I have. It helps keep me sane. -I am participating in The Fandom Gives Back to benefit Alex's Lemonade. I have a first come, first serve one-shot up for grabs. The thread for it is here. -I run a small LJ community called The Twilight Enabler for fic recs if you're ever looking for something else to read. Not all of those stories are housed here on fanfiction.net. The community is open to public recommendations, so I haven't necessarily read all of them , but there are some excellent stories on there. That was an afternoon of boredom and my lack of finding an imaginative screen name, so I took a character name and slapped my age on the end. Since I remained active in that fandom, I chose to keep the username... and then it just sort of stuck. Eight rules for writing fiction: 1. Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted. 2. Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for. 3. Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water. 4. Every sentence must do one of two things -- reveal character or advance the action. 5. Start as close to the end as possible. 6. Be a sadist. Now matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them -- in order that the reader may see what they are made of. 7. Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia. 8. Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To heck with suspense.
