Ah, the Joys of Authorhood...

(updated at my convenience and whenever my memory serves me, which isn't often)

I'm thrilled that you decided to take a gander at my modest little corner in cyberspace. I won't be making any bold promises about regular updates because apparently my life has not been very generous in that regard and I tend to suffer from writer's block or "mental constipation" as I affectionately call it, so if you're interested in anything here I highly suggest setting it up for an alert; just set it and forget it! Actually, don't forget it...that would hurt my feelings tremendously :( If you happen to like something I've written enough to actually grow impatient waiting for the next installment, forgive me. Ideally I would be churning out novels on a daily basis, but that ability seems exclusive to people like James Patterson.

Writing and music are two things I hold dearest to my heart. I could go as far as saying that I find solace and refuge in the worlds that the wonderfully inventive minds behind my chosen fandoms have given us- the readers, viewers, and players- and I like to build upon them and see where I can take them. I've become something of a perfectionist over the past few years and it's not uncommon at all for me to review and revise my work on a regular basis if I feel it falls below my standards.

And no, my avatar is not suggesting I would like you to join me in bed because that would probably disturb both of us on several levels.

So, why don't I do "disclaimers"? It's simple. This is a site dedicated to FAN FICTION (see the pretty key words?) If I did legally own any of the characters used in any of my work, why on Earth would I be writing fiction about them? Is such a thing even possible? Wouldn't that be one great oxymoron, figuratively speaking? It just...makes no sense to me I suppose. So I guess this could be considered a general disclaimer. Carry on!

PLEASE NOTE: If, for whatever reason, you feel the need to report me, either do so silently or send me a short DECENTLY written message explaining what is wrong. I do not react kindly to inflammatory language of any sort, vulgar or otherwise. I am not intimidated by anyone's superiority complex or need to fulfill a sense of power they obviously lack in the real world and choose to relieve with strangers on the internet. I am very easygoing and approachable, but do not mistake me as your doormat.

ALSO: Even though I do not own the rights to any of the characters (unless it is an OC), shows, films, games, etc. I base my work on, I most certainly do own the fiction itself. Please, for the love of all that is holy, do not steal my stuff. I think the general rules of plagiarism we're all taught in school would apply in this case. Be creative and do your own thing; I know I definitely try to. If, however, you'd like to incorporate an element from any of my pieces into your own writing, all I ask is that you first contact me about it and give credit. If you're unsure about something, just send me a message; I won't bite. Of course, if you happen to spot anything closely similar to either your own work or that of someone else's, I assure you of two things: 1) It wasn't intentional and 2) I honestly do not do enough reading on this site to go ripping people's ideas off. I'm just too busy fantasizing about that next chapter or project to do something like that. Exceptions will include non-traditional fiction styles such as "manuals". I try to give credit whenever possible in such cases, but it's usually impossible to track down the originator of an idea so I apologize for that in advance. I guess it becomes a matter of public domain, more or less.

Bio

Occupation: I'm a Creative Writing student. Let's hope one day I write something good enough to pay off all that debt I'm accumulating :)

Gender: "She's a lady, whoa whoa whoa, she's a lady..."

Signs: Aquarius (Cancer Moon and Rising) & Snake/Tiger/Monkey/Sheep (according to the Chinese everyone has 4 animal signs, not just 1) Apparently I'm also Grass and an Otter in other zodiacs. I could go into more detail on this one since I have an interest in zodiac signs bordering obsession, but that's for another time and you probably could care less at this point :P

Likes: Writing, getting reviews :hint hint: , wasting time, humor, brooding over the darkness in life, kindness and teamwork, IMing, neat gadgets, my shiny new Macbook, sleeping, different cultures, being a yo-yo vegetarian (actually I hate myself when I eat meat but sometimes it's inevitable for the time being), cuteness, watching cat videos on YouTube, unique artwork, sparkly things, engaging in deep and meaningful conversations (otherwise, I'm usually very introverted and won't speak much), science, the spring and fall, fireflies, the night sky, snacks, spirituality, interesting people, animals, complaining and pointing out the flaws in just about everything yet still managing to remain optimistic, good music, nerds and geeks, wondering if my brain has an OFF button...My interests and likes/dislikes sometimes fluctuate on a whim or along with my moods, which can shift at the drop of a hat sometimes. This is just a short list I happened to slap together because listing things is fun and very "in" these days.

Dislikes: Arrogance, mindless violence (yes, when it comes to certain games I play this makes me a bit of a hypocrite, but I DO cover my eyes so that has to count for something!), greed, rude people, cruelty, deceit, stupidity, the negative results of consumerism, disrespect for the environment, people and entertainment without substance, excessive or unnecessary swearing (my depictions of Mugen and similar characters being a lone exception to this rule), that hideously annoying song from "Dirty Dancing", traditional education, most social norms, people who viciously attack something without even bothering to thoroughly examine it, people who are quick tempered and like to yell, people who think being drunk equals "fun"...I could go on, but I'd much rather you read my stuff.

One More 'Ting!

Like many writers on FF.net, I thrive on reader feedback and always appreciate when someone takes the time to leave me any. That said, I really seek comments that specify what you did or did not like about a chapter (or the story as a whole), what's working or needs to be improved, and so forth. I'm not asking for a mile-long review (feel free to write one if you must!) but I do value constructive criticism that helps me grow as a writer. I hope this little note accomplishes that goal.

Announcements

-SWS: As a general rule, I will post any important information about this story in this section. I want to become more organized than I was in the past and hope it will help my readers in the process. Any additional details, comments, or notes will be included within the story itself in the form of an "Author's Note (A/N)" or "Please Read". I am also in the habit of continually editing my work even after it's been posted and this usually consists of deleting or altering inconsistencies that in my opinion ruin the flow of the story. This might also take the form of aesthetic tweaks for a cleaner, lighter look and feel. If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions please feel free to contact me, I aim to improve my work as much as possible. If you're an "old" reader who would like to refresh your memory, I highly suggest doing so since I've made a number of changes.

-Sesame Street: This one is taking second priority to SWS but I enjoy writing it nonetheless!

-Unfamiliar Waters: A somewhat experimental ficlet, nothing to take seriously. Just something I slapped together one late night out of boredom and some inspiration from pretty music.
