Hello everyone. My name is Sarah. Two of my friends and fellow writers on this site are SparklingTeardrops and Slina. My little sister goes by the name all-lucys-r-me around here. I am sure they would love it if you checked out their author pages as well. You will find them under my favorite authors section, along with some of the other wonderful author’s whose work I enjoy.

A little about me, for anyone who is curious: I am a singer and private singing teacher. I have taken voice lessons for just about as long as I can remember, and music is my passion. I also love animals and have worked as a veterinary assistant. Real life doesn’t leave much time for writing, but I always say that I need free time in order to stay sane; I just have to pick and choose what I do with that free time. Sometimes it’s fan fiction, other times it’s not.

One of my greatest loves is The Phantom of the Opera, especially the original novel by Gaston Leroux. My obsession with Phantom began in June of 2003, the first time I heard the Original London Cast CD of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical. I fell in love instantly with both POTO and Michael Crawford, hence the name Sarah Crawford. At the point when I discovered the ALW musical, I was pretty clueless as far as other versions go. I had seen the Claude Rains movie (which I didn't care for much), and that was all. But now I read, watch, and collect everything Phantom that I can get my hands on. My favorite versions of Phantom are as follows: 1) Leroux, 2) Andrew Lloyd Webber Stage Version (including the marvelous 25th anniversary performance), 3) Phantom by Susan Kay, 4) Lon Chaney 1925/1929 Movie, 5) Charles Dance TV Mini Series, and 6) Andrew Lloyd Webber 2004 Movie Version, with the other versions following thereafter in no particular order. That addiction, however healthy or unhealthy it may be, is the reason I am here.

My second and more recent fictional love is Harry Potter. I actually didn’t get sucked into the HP world until 2009 when my husband got me to watch the movies with him for the first time. I thought they were good, but didn’t love them like he did. Then we watched HBP in theaters. Neither of us could wait 2 years to find out how the series ended, so we borrowed the books from family, read them all, and fell in love with them. The rest is history.

Other fandoms that I enjoy (but don’t obsess over on the same level as POTO and HP) include the following: Braveheart, Dracula (book, movies, and musical), Jekyll and Hyde (book, movies, and musical), Les Miserable (musical and movies, someday I’ll read the book), The Lord of the Rings (movies, yet more books I’ll read someday), The Scarlet Pimpernel (musical and movies, haven’t read the books yet), The Secret Garden (musical and movies, haven’t finished the book that I started reading as a child), Sherlock Holmes (ACD stories and Sherlock BBC), The Woman in White (book, movie, and musical), and pretty much anything by Jane Austin (and the movies based on them). I may read stories in all of those fandoms and more, but will most likely only write stories based on The Phantom of the Opera and Harry Potter, with perhaps the occasional one-shot based on one of my minor obsessions.

I started writing when I was pretty young, but did not write anything of much value. In high school, I enjoyed role-playing online. Although that has become a thing of the past for me, I look back on it with fond memories. I think that role-playing gave me some good practice writing and helped me to get out most of my bad, clichéd stories before I came here. I also love writing fan fiction, and someday I would love to write something publishable, most likely in the historical fiction genre.

Your reviews are very much appreciated. They inspire me and help me improve; I can always use constructive criticism.

About pairings: Although pairings that just flow naturally happen more often in real life, I tend to enjoy pairings that take a lot of effort to work out. The difficult pairings are just so much more satisfying to read and such a challenge to write so that they are in character and believable.

In POTO my OTP is Erik/Christine, but I also enjoy Raoul/Christine one-shots and longer fics with a decent plot. I do not like E/OW. Period. End of story. Even the semi-well-written ones make me cringe. While I admit that it is possible that Erik could find love in someone other than Christine, I believe that it would take many years for him to put the past behind him, and by that time he would be and old man. I prefer to see him paired with Christine or dying of love for her like in Leroux.

In Harry Potter, I actually enjoy both cannon and non-canon pairings. My favorite characters are Severus Snape, Albus Dumbledore, and Remus Lupin. I love Severus/Lily, both in its cannon unrequited form and AU form. One of my favorite pairings is Severus/Hermione. Again with the difficult pairing thing, and I can really see her stepping into his life and more than filling Lily’s shoes. I also enjoy seeing Hermione paired with the other men of the older generation (Remus and Sirius); she is the only student in the series that I can truly see as mature enough to marry a man 20 years her senior. And yes, I can see this working with the long lives in the wizarding world. I like the idea of a good Hermione/Draco fic, but have only found one so far. And no, I’m not a Ron hater. I enjoy the Hermione/Ron pairing as well. There is not a single cannon pairing in the HP series that I dislike. My favorite cannon pairing is Remus/Tonks. I also enjoy the semi-movie-cannon paring of Neville/Luna. As with POTO, I avoid Cannon-Character/OC pairings, since they are generally poorly written self-insertions.

About my stories: the summaries are below, so I will just list my “progress reports” here.

Erik's Eyes, The Perfect Gift, and Of Lilac Trees and Scarlet Scarves are all one-shots, and therefore they are finished.

Requiem Mass: Their Beloved was completed in 2007 after two years of abandonment. I hope you enjoy the finished product.

Mazenderan Chronicles is unfinished and currently on hold. I know vaguely where I will go with this one; I just need to take the time to properly plot it out and finish writing and editing it. However, I have no earthly idea how long that will take, since I don’t know how many chapters it will take to arrive at the story’s conclusion. Please be patient with me. Updates will come someday, but not until I take the time to re-writing the entire story, including what has been posted here. When I started posting this story I was re-working it, and now I believe that I want to re-work it yet again from the beginning, since my characters and general writing style have changed and developed so much since I last touched this story. I would also like to do some research in order to make it more historically accurate and original instead of just depending on Kay. While her version is brilliant, it’s not my version.

Together Forever, my old favorite of the stories, is finally being finished. Yes, you read that correctly, I’m working on this one again. After years on hold, I had a talk with my co-authoress and she gave me her blessing to finish the story on my own. While we would have loved to finish it together, that just was not possible. Hopefully I can live up to my readers’ expectations as I write for both characters. The final chapters may come slowly, because it is challenging keeping up writing the two voices now that there is only one authoress. But the rest of the story is plotted out and being written.

The Lullaby- A short story exploring Erik’s childhood. This one should have three or four chapters, but I am still working on the first one and doing the necessary research.
