Author has written 17 stories for Phantom of the Opera, Phantom of the Opera, Glory, Pushing Daisies, Jersey Boys, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Misc. Plays/Musicals, Frankenstein, and Beauty and the Beast. My name is Cassie and I am obsessed with Phantom of the Opera and generally all musical theatre. I love writing and would like to become an actress ( I AM NOW PURSUING MY BA IN MUSICAL THEATRE!) My ultimate goal is to play Christine in the Phantom of the Opera someday. (Even if I have to stage the performance in my basement with my dog playing the Phantom.) I may be murdered for this but my FAVORITE version of Phantom is the 2004 movie. I know it is not perfect but it pretty much gave me a life during high school and will always be my favorite movie. The first time I saw it, I was absolutely enthralled. I even approve of the casting decisions of the three leads. I just think some people were expecting to be an exact replica of the stage show which it was never going to be. When I saw the stage show for the second time on tour (RIP) in Chicago, it finally captured me the way the movie had mostly because un-like the first time, I saw it with probably the best cast ever. Which included Sara Jean Ford as Christine, she was absolutely amazing. She played the role making the exact same choices I would have made. It was that performance that got me off my butt and ready to pursue musical theatre again and be able to play Christine someday. My sister was the student director on her high school's production of Phantom which I had no intention of seeing because I thought there was no way for them to do it correctly. I ended up going and it was actually pretty good and impressed me. Once again, this show grabbed me and made buckle down more seriously about my ultimate goal. (I have written a review of it and have a link to the production photos if you are interested.) I have an appreciation for Leroux and the first 2/3 of Kay. My avatar was chosen because my absolute favorite scene in the in the movie and the musical is Down Once More/Track Down This Murderer. The raw emotion of the scene gets to me every time and layering of the lyrics is fantastic. Is is just the absolute PERFECT climax to the story. I am fully a Raoul/Christine shipper. I just think they belong together. I could write essays on the topic of why they are meant for each other. You cannot ignore the fate that brought them back together after years apart. And Raoul is kind of man that fully respects and loves Christine for who she is. I honestly think that if Christine had wanted to leave him for Erik, he would have let her. And anyone willing to DIE not kill for the person they love they are good in my book. I can be coaxed into the occasional Erik/Christine pairing but I think there has to be A LOT of development on Erik's part to make it work properly. (Same with Erik/OC or Erik/Meg) Christine just does not randomly decide she is in love with Erik after all that has happened between them and her relationship with Raoul. Oh and Love Never Dies will never be canon in my mind, EVER! Andrew Lloyd Webber even said that it should be viewed as a separate story. But, what it really should be called is "Phantom 2: Andrew Lloyd Webber Wants a New Summer Home." The characters are not the characters from the original musical at all, they just have the same names and act that way because the plot NEEDS them too. Christine WOULD never just get up to go bang Erik, just no. Also, there is also the possibility that Gustave is not even actually Erik's so there is that. (Music does not=DNA Test) This also the reason why you will NEVER see Christine have a son name Gustave in any of my fics. Some Story Notes If you are going to read Wounds, Three Little Words or Erik in TV World and the majority of Kidnapped! keep in mind that it is some of my earlier writing and they are not as good as my more recent stories. I may be editing them in the future. While my stories are in progress, I will keep them in the Phantom book section and them move them to the movie section when they are done. I am going to re-edit the last few chapters in "The Last Persian Rose" because I am not really happy with where I took it (and neither were my readers!) That will be the first priority on here, then more updates. Trusting Desire may be done since I lost almost all the work done for that planned trilogy, but if I find it I will definitely finish. I re-read Erik in TV World and seeing as it was one of my older fics I knew it would not be too well written but I was wrong. It was horrible! It is like I never heard of proof reading. So I am thinking of re-writing that sometime in the future and getting on to that sequel I promised. Missing Time Series A series I am doing to explain the few things that bothered me and missing time in the 2004 movie. It is my favorite movie but there are still a few things I wished they had done differently. Some of them will be short, some of them will be longer just depends on what I am covering. I am trying to keep very close to movie canon. As in if it is mentioned in the movie that is the way it is in this series, which is why Raoul’s parents are alive. But, I will try to incorporate details of Leroux and the musical that will fit though I may have to bend them a bit. I am also operating on the idea that just because it was not mentioned in the movie does not mean I can’t use it (e.g. - Raoul’s sisters) but since in Leroux Philippe was part of the action at the opera house and they do not mention him at all in the movie or musical, he will not be alive in that portion of the story. If a few things seem glossed over or under explained in the stories, I plan to go back and explain everything in other parts of this series because my intention is to cover EVERYTHING. I am kind of trying to go at this in a How I Met Your Mother style with hints to things that will happen in the future or did happen in the past but will not be fully explained until all the right pieces are there. Yes, I have spent an un-godly amount of time planning this out, I filled a whole notebook. It may take a bit before I add another story in this series since I am busy with school and I want to pay some attention to my other neglected stories. But, I will only be covering the smaller topics for now, at least until my other stories are wrapped up. If you want to shoot me some suggestions of the small periods of time you want to see next, let me know. Wounds and basically Three Little Words will be re-written for this series. That is pretty much it, feel free to as me on Facebook www.facebook.com/CScarlettB just let me know you are from Fan Fiction | |||||||
