Author has written 28 stories for Harry Potter, Inuyasha, StarTrek: Voyager, StarTrek: The Next Generation, Phantom of the Opera, Star Wars, Rurouni Kenshin, StarTrek: The Original Series, Yu Yu Hakusho, Lord of the Flies, Sandman, Doctor Who, Death Note, Firefly, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Torchwood, and Castle.

Le'letha…

…believes things into reality.

…is pronounced leh-LEH-thuh: omnivorous bookworm, lifelong Trekkie, and fanwriter.

…has a fleet of starships inhabiting her desk.

PROS: speed-reader; sensible; imaginative; good memory; devoted to things she believes deserve to be devoted to; loyal; good student; works for her own spending money; organizes; tidy; can shut up; doesn’t smoke, swear, drink, or do drugs—and never wants to.

saw Star Trek: 2009 the Thursday before it came out—and loved it!

CONS: often vague; occasional complete space-case; lazy; procrastinator; asocial; solitary; sometimes depressive; spiteful; hypocritical; not always in tune with the world; sarcastic; vengeful; paranoid; not to be let loose in a bookstore with too much money.

…is not on Facebook. Get over it.

AND: obsessive; nitpicker; organizes compulsively; fantasize-r; night owl; lesbian—and not ashamed of it (deal with it, people); bookworm to the exclusion of other things.

…fell in love with Star Trek at five years old and has never looked back.

IF I WERE A FICTIONAL CHARACTER, I WOULD BE...I grok Tara (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). From the very first time we met her, nothing that woman did ever surprised me, because it was always what I would have done. But I’m now going to update that to Izzy Sinclair from Doctor Who Magazine’s comic strips. For those of you who don’t know her: lesbian obsessive sci-fi fan having the time of her life running around the universe with the Eighth Doctor. Ladies and gentlemen, the first half of that description is absolutely me. (And I wouldn’t say no to the last half, either…)

...is living in an expanding universe of awesome people, some of whom are actually real.

Things That Annoy Me: Crossover/OC romance; ridiculous pairings or plots; plagiarism; idea snitching; writing or stickers in books; people who dog-ear pages; most of my age group; how much anime, books, DVD box sets, and graphic novels cost; homophobes; racists; instant-message-speak; online social networking sites; iPods; Bluetooth attachments. Because I’m just weird that way.

…denies everything, and believes that everything is true; these statements are not always contradictory.

More About Me: If I like a series, I will own it. All of it. This costs me a lot of time and money, and ends up with every Star Trek episode ever aired on my shelves, or a thorough collection of Eighth Doctor novels (guess who now has all 75 of them, and "The Dying Days" to boot? And I'm still missing a few audiodramas...but not many. On to the New Adventures!). But I think it’s worth it. I love cats--when I was a kid I wanted to be a cat when I grew up, and it’s still a good plan--and cats generally like me too. I drink too much Dr. Pepper. I’m horribly nearsighted, without my glasses I am useless. I like replying to reviews but am not good at maintaining conversations; I tend to compose replies in my head and then forget to send them. I’m a night owl, mornings are for morning people, which I am not.

…must own “the complete set”, however long it takes.

I’ve noticed it’s a tradition on the Internet to pretend that you’re insane. I won’t claim to be, but I’ll stay up from first dark to long past dawn to watch all six Star Trek: The Original Series movies or entire seasons of Doctor Who at once. So you may pass sanity on my judgment as you like.

…thought she was crazy…until she came here…

What I’m Working On Now: "Paint the Town Red", a crossover story between Castle and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in a post-BTVS universe where Slayers patrol New York City, and Castle and Beckett investigate the murder of one of them. Currently holding my personal record for the story of mine that is most followed. In current events, the characters snatched the plot off me and ran away, leaving me scribbling hurriedly over my old plans in their wake. I've managed to corral them into Chapter Eleven, which is pending.

On Hold: a “One Hundred Things” list for Torchwood; and Slowly: "One Hundred More Things" for Doctor Who. And if you don’t think that sounds like fun, you clearly haven’t read “One Hundred Things”. Scroll down. (Feel free to do your own ‘Hundred Things’ list for whatever series, it wasn't my idea in the first place.)

Memory Alpha: Masterpiece Archive: If one of your stories, alternate or original universe, oneshot or epic, is included in this c2, you’ve passed the Highlighter Test, and nailed the plot, setting, and/or characters as well as or better than the original. (‘Memory Alpha’ is the planetoid in the Trekiverse containing the biggest library in the Federation. And it’s not infested with Vashta Narada, either.) On that note! (No…the note before that…) Star Trek fans! Go read SonOfTed’s brilliant Star Trek stories; he is a genius writer and I’m not just saying that!

To everyone who has asked about A Time for Pizza: Ye gods! It was a throwaway, people! Not that I’m upset with the attention, of course. (Wow!) I had not planned on continuing it, but… keep asking, and you never know.

…was once told she was obsessive, and wondered why anyone thought she didn’t know.

Personal Rules:

Reading: Take the good with the bad and use mindbleach sparingly. Each story has four chapters to sell me (unless it’s just bad). OC or crossover romances are out. I do have a soft spot for a few slash pairings, and a few (mostly canonical) straight pairings. (Femslash? Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Willow/Tara. And that's canonical.) I don’t need to put a list here—you can probably figure them out by looking at my favorites list. I read A LOT and all over the map.

Writing: Someone (grayangle) once told me: “Other things just have to be done before your readers’ enjoyment. Going to get something to eat is a good one; the bathroom is another. Bathing & friends are over-rated at times.” I’m a semester away from my undergraduate degree and applying to graduate school; cut me some slack. But I haven't gone away! If you point out any mistakes, I will beat myself up more than you ever can and then change whatever the problem was. In the words of the window washer…all will be made clear. I love this saying; I wish I had made it up.

Reviewing: Universal Rule Two: DLDR: don’t like, don’t read. Don’t ask about Rule One. Constructive criticism is appreciated. I like to reply to reviews. Flames will be dealt with by the flame police. (Le’letha grabs a fire hose) Lock and load!

The Highlighter Test: Le’letha, but use it: Take your story. Take a highlighter. Read the story. Anything in that story that you can back up by pointing to the original book/TV show/movie/manga/comic book/whatEVER, highlight it. If, by the end of your story, the pages are covered with highlighter, you pass. If they aren’t, you fail, and it’s rewrite time.

…keeps at least one foot in the Dreaming at all times.

Obsessions/Fandoms/Interests…now with commentary!

Star Trek: The Original Series (I recommend watching the remastered editions; nostalgia is nice, but the updated special effects are just stunning…and the episodes themselves have not changed and are still good! No, really. They are.)

Star Trek: The Next Generation (I grew up watching this series; it’s a major part of my self-concept. It’s as familiar and comforting to me as…well…pick your example. Also, there’s Patrick Stewart, who’s just plain awesome. He is. You can’t argue with that.)

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Probably the best of the Star Treks, actually, when you come right down to it. Don’t watch it in pieces or out of order—you’ll miss the glorious, gorgeous character development and plot machinations. DS9 really made the Trekiverse a real place, and full of people we loved…and loved to hate, of course…)

Star Trek: Voyager (So much better than it’s been painted since the series ended, I am completely a Voyager fan. Don’t hate it, okay? And I’m a Janeway fangirl—just ask SonOfTed. Hey, there are worse role models to have. Look at it this way. When I was teenybopper-aged, my role model was Kathryn Janeway…not Miley Cyrus. Have I put this in perspective yet? Admittedly, I may possibly have a list of Seventeen Ways Voyager Could Have Been Better, but then again, maybe I don’t.)

Star Trek: Enterprise (Again, better than people will admit, except for, of course, These are the Voyages, which I won’t even watch. Trek has to be pretty bad for me to not watch it. But on the whole, Enterprise is definitely worth watching—Season Three/the Xindi War is just lovely.)

Star Trek: 2009/XI (WHOOO! STAR TREK IS COOL AGAIN! Do you have any idea how good that feels? And Star Trek: 2013/XII rumblings are rumbling… (Le’letha does a Trek-inducing rain dance, somehow without embarrassing herself, because, hey, look, Trek!))

Doctor Who (...and YES, I actually DO like the classic series! And for once in my life I AM CAUGHT UP AND CURRENT! It's a good feeling. Personal preferences: fine, Eleven can stay. But I’m still deeply attached to Ten, and Eight, who I consider to be 'my Doctor'. I am fond of Eight…that’s now an understatement. Don’t ask, it’s complicated. In brief, the Eighth Doctor is exactly the sort of person who, upon leaving his best friend (Fitz) alone in a strange city for a few days, will make sure he has a car to get around in—and then forget to leave him the car keys. True story (Unnatural History). This tells you everything about Eight you will ever need to know. On that note, to paraphrase Tierfal, I ship really good Eight/Fitz slashfics extra-fragile overnight FedEx. Don’t you call me up and tell me it’s non-canonical. Almost ALL Doctor Who romance is non-canonical. Don’t hate on my pairing and I won’t hate on yours. Having said that, my story "Fortunes and War" seems to be slashier than I wrote it as. Don't know how that happened.)

The first successful Doctor Who spinoff, Torchwood (…so still annoyed over Children of Earth; I loved those guys, I really did! I planned on keeping them. …BUT I haven't seen Miracle Day yet. I'm getting around to it, with increasing trepidation. People keep frowning.)

…and the second, The Sarah Jane Adventures (I adore Sarah Jane, and I’m not sure why. Maybe because she was there for the first Doctor Who episode I ever watched—Revenge of the Cybermen, with Tom Baker. I thought it was awful...then realized that I was an hour and a half in, and didn't want to turn it off. I enjoy watching this show because I don’t have to eat my fingers down to the wrist with anxiety, as I occasionally do with Doctor Who. And, speaking of...ah, God. Ah, God. I've done my crying. Don't talk to me.)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I was introduced to this series recently, within the last couple of years. Whatever did I do without it? It’s cleverer than people give it credit for (I keep spotting things I missed the first, third, or sixth time through an episode), and it’s just fun… Hey! Heyheyhey! If anyone out there knows of any fantastic Buffy fanfics or authors out there, please drop me a PM, let me know…I am hesitant to poke my nose into the MASSIVE amount of fic out there without a map. For the record, I was comfortable with ‘ships as they stood at the end of Season Seven, except for Willow/Kennedy. Too soon, writers. I missed Tara. And also for the record, I find the amazingly increasingly depraved relationship between Buffy and Spike hysterical. In a good way. Please toss me some fic, people.)

Sherlock (Ladies and gentlemen, there is a God, and he or she occasionally calls up certain British TV writers in the dead of night and goes: “Psst…” As evidence I present Russell T. Davies and the rest of the Who Crew, Lynda Le Plante of Prime Suspect, and Steven Moffatt and Mark Gattiss of Sherlock. Ladies and gentlemen…I am in love. And agony, of course. But I've been assured that there WILL be a Season Three! All I can say is...there had BETTER. And SOON.)

Castle (Funny mysteries! Fantastic! And…hey, look, it’s Mal! As a Firefly fan, gotta love Nathan Fillion. And WHERE did this lady Stana Katic spring from? I want to see more of her… Amazingly, for once in my life, I am up-to-date on a current TV show. ...and it's annoying. How do you people deal with this one-episode-a-week thing? Since I usually just buy DVDs instead of watching shows broadcast, I’m usually a year behind…not this time!)

Stargate: SG-1 Atlantis (were new fandoms for me, and then I went through it at a record pace. More awesome people for me to adore! Silence in the library please…Universe is next once I get my Netflix account working.)

Jonathan Kellerman’s Alex Delaware mysteries (NOTE: Alex made me want to study psychology. I owe this guy. They’re good books, read ‘em.)

John Sandford’s Lucas Davenport mysteries (NOTE: and Virgil Flowers too! Also good books, read ‘em.)

Rurouni Kenshin, my very first manga series

FullMetal Alchemist (though I’m behind on the manga, I know the anime pretty well.)

Death Note (blew my mind. Still does.)

Terry Pratchett’s Discworld (is too much fun for words. My words, anyway—his do pretty well.)

anything by Neil Gaiman, especially The Sandman (rearranges my brain on a regular basis. "American Gods" may be my favorite book of all time. Read it. Buy it. Read it AGAIN. Don’t lend it to anyone. YOU WILL NEVER GET IT BACK.)

books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (especially anything featuring Special Agent A.X.L. Pendergast)

Sherlock Holmes (That man! That infuriating, wonderful man! If you look up 'unconditional love' in my brain, there's a notation that says, see: Watson.)

House, MD (Speaking of Sherlock Holmes, as we were…look, he makes me laugh. I don’t understand the medicine, but I take comfort in knowing that the actors probably don’t either. ...also, former Buffy actors keep popping up, which is weird and disturbing but hilarious. Haven't seen any of Season Eight yet...I'll wait for the DVDs.)

The X-Files (turned out to be one of those things I went around saying ‘what did I do with myself before I met these people?’ I’m not sure if Mom’s thrilled or not that I’ve taken over another of her fandoms…I’ve already stolen Star Trek and Doctor Who out from under her. I'm getting back into it when I have the time. Good times, good times. How did I forget that they were funny?)

Star Trek: The Animated Adventures (Really. Shut up. I know.)

Mythbusters (I have learned more science from this show than my senior-year-of-high-school physics class; they make me laugh; and really...sometimes we just need to blow crap up!)

Firefly (wonderfully shiny, and cancelled too soon)

George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire (is what they had in mind when they invented the words 'EPIC', 'complicated', and 'unpredictable'. Hey, I heard an ASOIAF joke the other day: "Every time we complain about the delay, Martin kills another main character!" This is quite possibly true. …Read it anyway: by the time you finish the six and a half THOUSAND or so pages that make up the first five books, we might actually know something about the sixth one. But probably not. Still, in the interim, you can go read them again. While we're on the topic: I was pleased with the HBO series, but annoyed that they keep billing it as 'an HBO original series'. Ladies and gentlemen of the HBO, I have six and a half thousand pages that prove someone else made it before you did. Please, people. Books are still better though.)

As well as:

Yu Yu Hakusho, Inu-Yasha, Diana Wynne Jones, The Chronicles of Narnia, His Dark Materials, Erin Hunter’s ‘Warriors’, Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, Foxtrot, ‘Classic’ Sci-Fi (Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, etc)

And the list goes on…

…says TALLYHO! and laughs.
