Author has written 40 stories for Teen Titans, Garfield, Code Lyoko, Calvin & Hobbes, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Hello! I am Rae Logan. I can be found at many other sites with any variation of my "name". You might also know me as the author of the "Teaching Darkness" fan series featuring Mephiles the Dark. Fun Facts of Teaching Darkness: I am the leading provider of Mephiles based fanfics, and the only writer of an entire series about him. "Teaching Darkness" started exactly the one year anniversary of Mephiles' game debut. (Unintentionally) "Teaching Darkness: Visions" was inspired mainly by both the beginning of the novel "Watership Down" and the song "Don't Stay" by Linkin Park. "Teaching Darkness: Job Quest" breaks the most of the fourth wall in the entire series so far. It acknowledges the Tails Doll curse, Sonic merchandising, and many other Sonic fanbase stuff. "Teaching Darkness: Relapse" is most reviewed story of the series to date. "Teaching Darkness: Memories" is the longest story to date, with an even bigger shed of light on the "true" backstory of Mephiles and Dark. Mephiles' character in the series is built up from the personality portrayed in the games. His darker side is portrayed as an entirely different entity that resides in a way similar to how Mephiles had in Shadow in "Teaching Darkness". Mephiles (in the series) is allergic to milk and other dairy items because real life hedgehogs are. Shadow is not, however, because of his half Black Arms DNA. Though using a Next Gen character and taking place in Soleanna in the first story, The most of the series takes place in Westopolis, which was the setting for Shadow's solo game. The idea the Shadow stays with Rouge is an homage to Sonic Battle, and regardless if he still does in the games, Shadow works for GUN as well as Rouge. Mephiles is portrayed to be about ten years of age in the series (Though "Memories" states that he is about eleven) because of the date of the Soleanna Disaster, which was a little over a decade ago, though Mephiles will try to tweak his age. He acts pretty much close to Shadow's age most of the time, but acts his true age when upset or distressed. Mephiles is portrayed with the same powers and a little bit more. Because of his time traveling prior to settling in this time period, Mephiles has gained the power to (unwillingly) see into the future of that time line. He also is able to do his own version of a Chaos Spear, and he has shown that he can Spin Dash, though possibly not as good as Shadow. He also has a feral state of mind when too much pressure is exerted on him. Unfortunately, he is not able to distinguish friend or foe in this state and is as every bit dangerous and unpredictable as a rabid dog when he's like that. Mephiles (In my series... God... I hate having to type that over and over again...) gets queasy at the sight of blood and nearly passes out (if he hasn't already) at the sight of his own. As the series progresses, Mephiles becomes more mature of a character, evolving from an easily startled hedgehog to understanding and a little braver.
