Author has written 23 stories for Van Helsing.

If you have any questions or concerns about your authoress, feel free to read my blog, take a look at my website, check out my mostly ignored LJ or deviantART, scroll through this detailed profile, or contact me via email or PM.

Review Policy: I accept any kind of constructive criticism, so long as it is constructive and not... well... a flame. Please back up any of your suggestions with evidence so I take your argument seriously and please, if at all possible, be tactful. Tactless individuals lack any sense of class, decorum, breeding, or education and tend to be ignorant, conceited snobs that are deficient of any form of self-respect - do NOT be one of those people. I'm TOTALLY good with sarcasm, but just a wise piece of social advice from one human being to another - I wouldn't recommend using sarcasm if you are unacquainted with the individual you are aiming it at. Because in most societies, that is considered rude; and being rude makes you applicable to the description of what a tactless person is. Just a piece of advice.
Also, FAN-FICTION does not require bluntness, nor is it meant to be perfect - whatever that is. I do take constructive criticism seriously, however, as I wish to improve on my writing and I'm open to suggestions. Just use tact. That is my only request. I have gotten good at swallowing my pride, thanks to flamers and personal failure and hey, I'm not a God. It doesn't take a scientist to figure that one out... The pun was intended. But yeah. You get it. No need to beat that bush anymore.

Disclaimer: My work is copyrighted as mine. The storyline, plots and non-Van Helsing characters I own and hold rights to. Everything else that is stated as not mine or anything that involves the Van Helsing characters and Stephen Sommer's movie/script I clearly do not own. I also do not own Count Dracula; instead he owns me... though I wish it was the other way around. Things would be SO different if it was :) - ©TM

And just a random side note: I am very aware that my author's notes in my older stories make me sound arrogant and immature. For that, I apologize. Those author's notes and rants are utterly ridiculous and humiliating and, I'm certain, will make for some very pretty black-mail in my future, but I'm leaving them up there so I can look back at them and laugh at myself. Just ignore the insane a/n's and focus on the story, if at all possible. :) Thanks.

The Actual Profile:

"I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it." - W. Shakespeare, 'As You Like It'

I'm an English major, full-time college student with aspirations of becoming a published author in the future. I'm in my 20s, have been writing for years and have been telling stories since I first learned how to talk (my parents can back me up on that. As a child I was a compulsive story-teller/liar extraordinaire). I write fan-fiction for fun, but mostly as practice. I'm an avid reader and writer and a music junkie - I literally listen to just about everything. I'm partial to classical/opera, 80s music, and Within Temptation and/or Nightwish - varying on my mood. My literary heroes are Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell and I adore William Shakespeare with every breath in my body. I cannot live without rain, music, or the great outdoors and one of my favorite things to do is walk on the beach at night with only the moon and stars as my light. Yes... cliché and "romantic" I know, but its true. There's nothing like the feel of sand between your toes and a coastal breeze. I love the smell of rain, Christmas trees, and books; especially old books. I'm a zealous photographer and nothing inspires me more than being outside. I LOVE to travel - in fact, my love for traveling plays a great part in me being relatively poor. But hey, I don't mind it too much. Just as long as I don't starve and can pay my bills. I've been fascinated by vampires since I was a kid and that fascination is still existent. I'm a hopeless romantic, a carb-addict, and my favorite beverage is pink lemonade. I'm the oldest of six siblings, the youngest of them being autistic. My mother and father were both from large families and although the extensive numbers of relatives is, at times, exhausting I can't imagine my life being any different, nor would I want it to be. I'm a dreamer, someone who finds it easy to get lost in one's own thoughts; wondering, contemplating, and most of the time, just imagining.

Lets see... anything else about me worth mentioning?

Basics:

Age: 20's
DOB: 27 February
Sex/Gender/Orientation: Female and straight
Education: High School and College grad (AA w/ honors in English and Liberal Arts), cont. on for BA+MA in English - emphasis on literature, minor in history.

Favorites:

Author(s): Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Oscar Wilde, Charlotte Brontë,William Shakespeare, and Elizabeth Kostova

Beverage of Choice: Pink Lemonade and Ginger Ale
Food: cobb salad, clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, chicken alfredo, and grilled salmon with homemade salsa
Junk-Food: White-Cheddar Cheez-its and hot pockets

Comedians: Jeff Dunham, Bill Engvall, Dane Cook, Eddie Izzard, and Bill Cosby
Candy: See's Bordeaux and Raspberry cream truffle
Flowers: roses, violets, lilies, gardenias, amaryllis, and irises
Color(s): jewel tones / dark colors (i.e. emerald, sapphire, scarlet/ruby, amethyst, obsidian, etc.) But if I had to pick ONE, red would be it.
Band(s): Within Temptation, Nightwish, Muse, Daughtry, Paramore, and Journey

Violinists/Strings:Angèle Dubeau & La Pietà and Janine Jansen

"Harry Potter" or "Twilight": Harry Potter. "Twilight" had great potential and didn't even get close to meeting it. Instead, Stephenie Meyer botched the vampire genre with her sparkly-glowy vegetarian vampires who are disturbingly possessive. REAL vampires don't SPARKLE, little girls! Accept it and move on.

And Some Quotes:

Jane Austen:
+ "What are men to rocks and mountains?"
+ "Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves; vanity, to what we would have others think of us."
+ "Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love."
+ "The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel must be intolerably stupid."
+ "It sometimes happens that a woman is handsomer at twenty-nine than she was ten years before."
+ "Woman is fine for her own satisfaction alone. No man will admire her the more, no woman will like her the better for it. Neatness and fashion are enough for the former, and a something of shabbiness or impropriety will be most endearing to the latter."

"After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.” -Aldous Huxley

"The Genius are different. They are given to wilder passions, deeper introversion, acute agonies of doubt. There's darker forces which are unimaginable to the rest of us. You see, passion can destroy genius if it is not contained." -Rose Grainger

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It Goes On." - Robert Frost

"Somehow it's reassuring I'm not the only one pretending to be normal." - Dexter Morgan

"There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line." - Oscar Levant

"Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt." -William Shakespeare

"He who sedulously attends, pointedly asks, calmly speaks, coolly answers and ceases when he has no more to say is in possession of some of the best requisites of man." -Johann Casper Lavater

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined." -Henry David Thoreau

"There are some things in this world that are not meant to be spoken. The most beautiful simplicities of this life are either found in the wordless sound of music or the exquisite expression found only in the written word. With speech, one falls under the blunder of ramblings and unnecessary details. When writing, everything is meticulous, everything is thought-out. Only the vital details are expressed." - Me

o0o

"This is who I am in my basest form; no façades no lies. Simple, honest, naked truth. Hate me if you must, but love me if you can."

Enjoy the fan-fiction. It's meant to amuse.

-T.S. Mayne
