I am the Feral formerly known as Claw. Yeah. Remember the major server crash of '04? It took my former account with it. And while, yes, most of the stuff hosted on it was horribly bad and old and made me want to feed my fingers through a paper shredder in penance, it was still mine. So here I am again, with a new name and--hopefully--much better writing. Yay?

A note to readers concerning the Dum Spiro Spero continuity:

O-okay, so many of my readers have either been confused by this or whined about this that I feel I have to make a statement concerning it.

Dum Spiro Spero is not just a stand-alone story. It's the main part of a continuity that spans two other chaptered stories and two oneshots. These other oneshots have the same slightly-altered!version of canon, and work to set the stage for Dum Spiro Spero. In order, these stories are Painting the Silence, Precious, The Soul's Riven Gate, and Unworthy. Painting the Silence tells the story of how Gulcasa and Nessiah first became close. Precious gives background on each character's connection to Yggdra while also showing how events differ from the canonical game, in addition to presenting some important scenes that are referenced throughout DSS but never actually shown. The Soul's Riven Gate tells the story of how Roswell and Nessiah developed a relationship, and Unworthy was the DSS pilot. It takes place between chapters 8 and 9 of DSS and gives some background on Milanor's self-improvement complex. You don't have to read all this stuff to understand DSS, but for those who have read these stories, PLEASE keep in mind that they are a part of this continuity. This is why they differ from canon the way that they do.

HIATUS NOTICE

As I'm sure a lot of people have noticed, my productivity level has gone down over the past year. The main reason for this? College, plain and simple. It's a lot harder to write when you don't have much of a zen spot, and homework and Internet are there to distract you. So my writing has become a bit of a lower priority, sadly.

I'm really sorry to everyone who's been waiting for updates on things, I know it sucks to be hung out to dry when you're reading something. I'm going to put a lot of people out of their misery now and say that all my projects except for Dum Spiro Spero, Wreck of the Day, and Fate/ninth heaven are on indefinite hiatus. I do plan to go back to them and complete them at some point, but right now I just don't have the time.

Most of what will be appearing up here for the next couple months will be oneshots (particularly the one I owe Stormshadow13; argh, I've been keeping you waiting forever and I'm so sorry ;;;) and the occasional update to a major story. As soon as I can kick my Legendia muse into gear, I should have the rest of Wreck of the Day written out (three more chapters hnnnngh), but it may be a while before my FF:U muses start sending me Killer Plotbunnies of Doom again.
