For now, though, feel free to check back at the forum for the oncoming wave of fantastic fics. I am the host of the YuGiOh Fanfiction Contest. It's a contest actually thought up by SilverCrescent17. I found her forum with the idea, loved it, and asked to be a judge, all while spreading the word throughout the more popular Yu-Gi-Oh forums. You may remember me interrupting chats for this very reason. Well, people came, got interested, and we started talking. While waiting for current head SilverCrescent17 to make an appearance, we discussed rules and ideas and got to know each other. We PMed SilverCrescent17 many times telling her about the now active forum, but we received no reply. Eventually, when everything was more or less smoothed out and we were anxious to start, one of the contestants suggested that I take over the contest, since it seemed that SilverCrescent17 had lost interest. Other contestants agreed, and I became the new host. I created a new forum, put together a list of pairings, and we started the contest. And I am proud to say that ever since, the contest has run successfully a total of five times, and are in the midst of our sixth "season". With that little history lesson over, here's the contest in a nutshell. Should you join, you'd be given a challenge pairing. It could be anything, yaoi, het, yuri, AE, DOMA, whatever. You get a week to write a one-shot for that couple. Submit it on time, and then the contestants have 4 days to vote on their favorite fic. The one with the least number of votes is kicked off, and we keep doing this until there's only one writer left. If you're interested, I have to warn you that you gotta have time to do this, because (ask anyone involved with Season 1 through 4) it is a demanding thing. Think of it as practice for real world writing, in a way. The only "canon" pairings I love are Tamaki x Haruhi, Vegeta x Bulma and Goku x ChiChi, Matt x Christie, Ryoma x Sakuno, Joker x Harley Quinn, Jack x Sally, Yuki x Machi and Ayame x Mine. I tend to prefer yaoi, but as you can see from the line above I like het just as much. Villain x Villain pairings are the best.
