Greetings everyone!

For any of you who actually read these author profiles (does anyone really?), I thought I'd explain a few things.

Some info about my C2 archive, the "Compass Rose": If you've gone through all the pages in it, then you will probably notice that there will often be long lists of stories from one category or another rather than a random mix all over. Well, that's because I tend to go on "binges" of a sort of different animes. Originally, I was in love with Gatchaman and Ronin Warriors. But there aren't that many Gatchaman fanfics on this site for some reason, and I can never find too many Ronin Warrior fanfics that catch my fancy. Oh well. Such is life. At any rate, I've got lots of Harry Potter, Ranma, and Naruto stories in there, somewhere in the middle is a rash of Slayers! stories, now and then there's even a few Sailor Moon and YuGiOh! stories, and if you take the time to look through it there's a few fics from other categories in there as well. I add fanfictions I find interesting quite often actually. Enjoy!

Spread Your Wings has been recontinued! I did find a half-page of notes, but didn't like where I had been going with it before. Very cliche. And I had been running an idea around my head for another Harry Potter fic that with a little tweaking easily attached to the one chapter I had up for SYW already. Yay me! I'll keep going with it for as long as I can, and hopefully will actually complete it fully. I can't guarantee that I'll keep updating as quickly as I have been, but maybe I will at least be able to lengthen my chapters once I slow down. Update: I took a break to focus on life, and then when I had time to go back to writing I had trouble reconnecting. So SYW may continue to be On Hold for a while longer. Never fear, I do plan to continue!

Some info on my non-completed story: What's In A Name? has been discontinued; I remember perfectly well what I wanted to do but I've completely run out of inspiration. I think possibly because I tried to combine too many aspects into one fic and made it too complicated. Anyway you can probably guess everything that happens next, I've already let out the Sirius surprise at the end of chapter 3 and there should be plenty similar HP fics to base an imagined The Rest Of The Story on it. For a good Harry As A Mage fic I recommend The Awakening of a Magus by the-dreamer4, and an excellent Severitus fic is Seeing Beyond the Veil by Sakura Saisaka, both of which served as inspirations for several aspects in my What's In A Name? fic.

Some info on the lackluster second half of The Great Coalescence Saga: While I had my ideas for where this was going, I simply ran out of steam. I ended up fleshing out the outlines I had for the remaining chapters. So I have several extremely short chapters on the end that get across my basic thought of what I wanted to write. I might eventually get around to revising and actually writing full chapters, but I doubt it. I've lost interest in the story. It's done and I probably will never look at it again. Those of you wishing there were more details, more fights, actual Shadow Monsters raging in the city (which I forgot to write about), and Dual Monsters details, I had originally intended to look up some background facts (especially for the Dual Monsters) to flesh things out but never got around to it. Feel free to apply your own imaginations and pretend the chapters are longer and better written.

I've considered taking What's In A Name? and The Great Coaliscence Saga down, but I have had several reviews for each saying they really like this fic... and I have always been vexed when authors take down fics I really like that they don't/can't continue or just lose interest in. So I'll leave these up for those people even though I cringe to look at them. Just be aware I'm not going to continue them.

I do have several ideas, especially for Harry Potter fanfics, simmering on the backburner. Considering I seem to be better off writing oneshots or really short parody/humor type fics and the ideas I have are more suited to longer stories, I shall probably not get around to writing and posting them. However if I do give it a shot, I will try to do most of the writing and revising before I post even one chapter, otherwise I am likely to get a couple chapters in with long pauses between each and realize I want to do some major revisions to the storyline and would need to take everything down... and the amount of work it would all take would bring me to a standstill. Perhaps I will post a series of story ideas in oneshot format to see what sparks the most interest, and try writing from there. Who knows. At any rate, I hope you all enjoy what I do have written.

Some people like to review asking authors to lengthen their chapters. Do these people realize how long the "short" chapters are? On a Microsoft Word document, three whole pages makes for a pretty short fanfiction.net chapter! And yet, its around 1000 words for 3 pages. I don't see how those authors with the extremely long chapters manage - they're practically writing a book for each update! And some of them update pretty quickly! Give those authors a hand, they really deserve it! Some of them can write long and fast and quite well, practically professional level. As amazing as those authors are, however, there are plenty of us amatuers out there who are just writing for fun and don't want to work too hard at it. I fall into the other catagory; shorter chapters are much easier for me. I may be writing 3 to 5 pages in Word, but they don't look that long when I post them. Okay, so in a novel 3 to 5 pages is not a full chapter, but I'm not writing novels I'm writing fanfiction! Therefore they can be short and still get the point across, since readers usually know the background like "who is Harry Potter, what is his wand made of, and what do his relatives look and act like." A brief sentence instead of a full detailed description usually suffices.

Cartoon Network's Fusion Fall: Waaaaaay awesome!!

Unfortunately I cannot subscribe right now, and as I sadly discovered that means I'm stuck in the Future with nothing to do but try the Infected Zone races. And of course, that means getting lost, falling off more platforms I can count, taking a half hour to figure out where the end flag is, and generally getting frustrated with the whole concept of timed courses and speed jumping. Anyway, it looks like there are a few FF fanfictions being started, and a couple of them looked good and have been added to my C2. I have an idea for a FF story, but since it can only focus on pre-game events and a few "behind the scenes" type scenes sround the Future setting, I'm not going to bother writing anything at this time. Maybe at a later date, if I ever subscribe. In the mean time I just really wish I could - I love the concept of the game!

Please note: I read both het and slash so you'll find stories of both nature here. And a number of stories (especially oneshots or short, usually pre-canon-events stories) that don't have a pairing, focusing on other things. I've also bolded the authors who write more than just one or two stories I particularly enjoy.

Disobediencewriter: author has tons of fics and I recommend most of them, so I won't list them all here and you can look up the author instead! Harry Potter fics.

kirallie: Ditto above! HP, Naruto, and HPNaruto fics.

padawan lynne: Mistress of HP Star Wars crossovers; "Walking a New Path" multi-fic epic. Also "The Chronicles" series, but that one is currently taken down for rewrites. Looks like a fair amount of fics in the works too, and most of them are HPSW crosses.

"Aftermath: A Story of Blended Cliches" by trimatter - A Ranma fanfic crossover with Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo. A Ranma-chan fuku-fic, but an extremely good one, pairs Ranma with Tenchi. The only thing I found weird was the beginning and ending - the beginning is a prologue of post-fic events before the majority of the fic becomes a sort-of flashback, but then the ending goes over the events of the prologue differently. I overlook those small continuity errors because the majority of the fic is absolutely awesome!

Ar-Kaos has a multi-fic Ranma epic starting with "Dead Man Walking" and ending with Arc V "Gateway To Dawn". - This is a Ranma-Nabiki pairing featuring an older, smarter, tougher Ranma, darkish military themes, and evil aliens (though the general populous don't know about the aliens). Truly fantastic with well-developed characters and a believable but still insane Kodachi and a psychic Gosunkugi Hikaru.

"Blood Prince"; "Heir of Blood"; "Blood's Sacrifice"; "Blood Dance" by Shade Dancer - A Mafia! Harry Potter series with realistic OCs and new sides to canon characters. Shade Dancer finally returns to the series for the fourth installment. The series seems to be following a one-fic-per-Hogwarts-year routine. This is a Harry-femBlaise pairing, and the story is great!

"A Second Chance at Life" followed by "Changes In a Time of War" followed by "A Magical World" by Miranda Flairgold - Trilogy: Harry becomes independant and leaves for a new, tough and awesome school in Canada and makes new friends. Voldemort's just the beginning. Now there are demons invading! Vampires, fae, elves, bloodmagic, and more!

The Elemental Series (four fics) by Raven Dragonclaw - Harry gets amnesia, is adopted, and joins a society of elementals even more secret than the Wizarding World. Plus the gods are real and love to meddle, and Dark Angels are being reborn. The series seems to have been abandoned unfortunately, it hasn't updated in quite a while. But that's no reason not to read what has been written, because what's there is awesome!

"Hero of the Thousand Retreating Backs: Harry Potter" by Chibi-Reaper - A Harry Potter Discworld sort-of crossover. Features a cowardly Harry and his best friend DEATH. Awesome and funny!

"Just Another Perfect Soldier" by sparkley-tangerine - Harry Potter Gundam Wing crossover. Harry and Heero, very much alike and possibly upcoming slash pairing. The Gboys have a new bodyguard duty, and where has this new mysterious gundam come from?

"Orion Black: Time Traveler" by Rose-Aislin - Harry Potter is missing and then Sirius Black's husband, a Hunter and a time traveler, turns up. But where's Harry? (Rose-Aislin also has a related fic that gives a series of oneshots of Orion's time with Sirius back in the Marauder's Era)

"Partially Kissed Hero" by Perfect Lionheart - a great super!Harry, pairing with Hermione and Luna. A partial Dementor's Kiss in third year unlocks the horcrux in Harry and he begins to fight the Dark Lord Voldemort and the Dark Lord Dumbledore. Kentucky Fried Chicken - finger lickin' good!

"Perfectly Abnormal" by evansentranced - oneshot, pre-Hogwarts; Harry is perfectly abnormal thank you, and driving the Dursleys insane passive-aggressive style!

"Fighting the Gods" by phoenix catcher - HP SG1, Harry the Tok'ra, last of the Alterrans. But who is Ryver Potter?

"Cast Between Worlds" by phoenix catcher - HP SGA, Harry loses his magic but gains a new power. Joins the military and eventually the Stargate Atlantis team. eventual slash.

"Harry Potter and The Ancient's Bane" by Kalistar - HP SGA sibling-who-lived, Harry is John Sheppard's younger brother.

"The Immortal Spacemonkey" by Shannon K - SG-1/Highlander crossover fic: Daniel is Immortal and there are people after his head, even on other worlds! I think there's a sequel now too.

"Take the Green and Go" by Usagi-Hasano - Ranma falls in Spring of Drowned Shego. Crossover with Kim Possible.

"Silver Moon, Golden Sands" by Scarlet Moon - Sailor Moon Yugioh crossover with YamiSerenity pairing, Mamoru and majority of senshi bashing.

"What Dread Hand" by Bone White Butterfly - a Batman Beyond fic; Terry goes deep undercover with the cat-people. Then things start to go wrong. Chapters are not entirely chronological but later chapters include a timeline. Very well written.

"Sudden Burst of Speed" by CRose - Ranma gains the Speed Force and joins the Flash family over in the Marvel Comics superheroes world.

"Harry Potter and the Invincible TechnoMage" by Clell65619 - Harry is adopted by Tony Stark (Ironman). Super-tech and chaos magic! Befriends Hermione and the Patil twins. Still too early to determine pairings, but I can make an educated guess. grins

"Technomagus" by esama - HP SG1 crossover. Harry with an Ancient Repository of Knowledge in his head, the Flamels as his guardians, and is using Alterran tech to change the muggle and magical worlds.

"The Awakening of a Magus" by the-dreamer4 - super!Harry but very well done. 5th year Harry becomes a magus (mage). One of the best super!Harry fics I've read. Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy are good.

"The Best of Times" by Ozzallos - Ranma vs Sailor Pluto, Ranma in a fuku, and two alternate endings.

"The Essence of His Soul" by My Echoing Silence - Harry and Kurogane share a body. sibling-who-lived fic with a yuyuhakusho twist!

"The Tiger Who Knew Too Much" by Lily of Trust - a Ronin Warriors story. No armors, but plenty of mafia. Sorta Dick Tracy-ish; Mia is a PI! Sage returns from the dead! Very intense.

"The Truth in All Things" by P.L.S. - HP HL BtVS SG1; Methos was Slytherin and Harry used to be an Immortal. Giles and the Watchers, plus Immortals going through the Stargate. The Hogwarts Founders were not who you think!

"The Ultimate Escape Artist" by dogbertcarroll - Harry Potter, ultimate escape artist. pre-Hogwarts. It's hilarious!

"Crucible" and "Wall of the World" by sexylyon - two unrelated but excellent Gatchaman fics. Very introspective.

"Not Your Usual Veela Mate" by Janara - veela!Draco and mate!Harry, but note the title. It's actually quite interesting and develops Harry and Draco's relationship slowly and well.

"Desperate Measures" and "Raspberry Jam" by v v c - two more, unrelated, DracoHarry fics that develop their relationship well and in new and interesting ways. DM features independent!Harry as a veela. RJ is a bonding fic with no veelas.

"Invisible Sun" by lightning bird - a Fusion Fall fic, mildly AU, of pre-game events. Dexter meets the PowerPuff Girls and finds friendship and family. Leads into a during-game fic "Taken", and sequel "A Time For Heroes" set between the two. ATFH focuses on Ben-10 and Dexter's developing friendship as the FusionFall war kicks off. Quite well written.

"In Another Lifetime" by Jade Hunter - Ranma encounters the Sailor Senshi. Things don't go as the girls expect. oneshot. Unique take on the Ranma-from-the-Silver-Millenium plot.

I have other fics in my favorites list, but the ones above are the best of the best!
