Hi, I’m ill at ease.

If you're reading this, you probably want to know more about me or the stories that I’m writing. Well, here's a bit of both.

I've been writing stories since kindergarten; however, it wasn't until 6th grade that I actually started writing stories with plots. Mostly, I prefer to write original stories, as it allows for much more artistic freedom than fan fiction. I do have an account for my regular stories as well at http://www.fictionpress.com/~shayah

The reason I started writing fanfics was because of Naruto. There were just so many characters that I liked and I thought I could write a good story involving all of them. Or rather,some of them, as there are an insane number of characters in that story! o.O

As you may have guessed from my comment about it above, I’m a huge fan of artistic freedom. As a result, most of my storieswill beAUs, though I may have one or two that aren't.

As for the genres of stories that I will be writing, I really have no idea. I am a hopeless romantic, so there will definitely be a fare share of those. Even if it's not a primary genre, there will be romance. (Unless I can't get some characters that seem like they would like each other) I currently feel that I suck at writing action scenes, so I tend to avoid them. However, the fanfic that I am currently working on will have action in it. I hope that I am improving in the action genre, but I guess I'll let you be the judge of that.

My favorite things to writeare the thoughts of the characters. I am an actor and when I am casted as a certain role, I try to put myself into that character's life and think like they do. As a result, I have become fairly adept at delving into the inner workings of characters' minds.

My biggest peeve (one that I am guilty of too sometimes) is when characters in fanfics are out of character. this includes hooking up with people who they would never hook up in any sane world they are placed in. If you can write convincingly so that the characters are still the same people they are in the original story with the same likes, dislikes, peeves, etc. and somehow work two unlikely characters together, more power to you. However, if you just throw them together and start the story, it just doesn't work.

I have many many books, manga, anime, TV shows, and movies that I like, but seeing as I only plan to do fanfics for three of them (well, that's the plan. We'll see if that happens or not), I will confine the next part to just those three.

Naruto

Favorite pairings:

Naruto and Hinata (they both like each other. it would take an act of God, or something of that sort,to make them hook up, but the possibility is still there)

Shikamaru and Temari (everything is there for this pairing. it's wonderful)

Sasuke and Sakura (not particularly fond of either of the characters, but the relationship would work)

Haku and Zabuza (they're just so cute together _)

Hated pairings:

Kakashi and Sasuke (everybody loves Kakashi. lots of people love Sasuke. but you need more than that to make a relationship. Kakashi is not the type of person who would go for his students)

Sasuke and Naruto (they're best friends, but nothing more)

Sasuke and Hinata (I don't even know where this pairing comes from, but I have seen it)

Sasuke and Ino (the attraction on Ino’s side is obvious. the attraction on Sasuke’s side isn't)

Naruto and Ino (again, no idea where the idea for this came from, put I have seen it)

Itachi and Sakura (ditto to above)

Gaara and anyone (he's not the type to settle down)

Like I said before, it does depend highly on the author's writing abilities and the plot of the story to make unlikely couples likely. The only one of my hated pairings that I have seen done well is the Sasuke Naruto one, but I’m willing to bet that there are some of the other ones that would work out ok as long as the writing behind them was really good.

Escaflowne

Favorite pairings:

Van and Hitomi (of course)

Merle and someone (she deserves someone too, just not one of the characters that have been introduced. I think she needs a little cat boy of her own)

Dryden and Millerna (at first, I didn't like this couple, but by the end of the series, I loved it)

Hated pairing:

Allen and Hitomi (mainly, I don't like this one because it takes Hitomi away from Van. : p yeah yeah, I’m an idiot. I know)

Tithe/Valiant/Ironside

Favorite Pairings:

Val and Ravus

Corny and Lewis

Kaye and Roibin

Hated pairings:

None, actually. I haven't read many Holly Black facfics, so I don't know what other pairings people are using. But I would guess that I would dislike any pairings involving the people I mentioned above that are not cannon.

The Shinobi:

7/9/05- first chapter posted

7/21/05- second chapter almost completed, hope to post it withinthis nextweek.

12/7/05- Man, was I ever wrong on my last update. . Well, for all who were really pissed off that I haven't posted the next chapter of Shinibi, please forgive me. School has been massively cutting into my creative works time. At any rate, that chapter is now posted and happy.

4/30/07 - (man, I haven't updated in a long time!) Ok, so I am still working on this story (in theory), but life has been pretty hectic lately, so it hasn't made much progress. I did write another chapter, but it comes much much later in the story, so that doesn't really help much. But, I do have a present to hold you guys over (if any of my readers are actually reading this). Shadow and Wind:

4/30/07 - Another Naruto fanfic! Can you guess who the main characters are? Anyway, this fanfic is still in its most preliminary stages. The tentative name is Shadow and Wind (because it's about Shikamaru and Temari), but later the fic will deal a lot with their child (yes, I'm giving them a baby!) and whatnot, so I might change the title to A Union of Shadow and Wind. Or I might find a completely different name all together. You never know.
So far I have a rough outline for the first 10 chapters, but nothing actually written out in story form. I should be at least starting the fic this summer, but I don't know when I'll get it posted.

Cat and Mouse:

4/30/07 - This is idea I thought of recently for an Escaflowne fic. The main character is Merle (in case you couldn't tell by the name) and . . . well, that's all you get to know about it for now. It will be a short fic, maybe 3 or 4 chapters. Maybe more. Maybe less. I don't know yet.

Love Among the Ruins:

4/30/07 - This is another Esca fic I came up with. It's actually based off of a very, very, very odd dream, but I removed some of the less believeable parts (like the giant orange glow-worm type creature that attacks hitomi in the middle of a desert and Milerna having some strange mystical power to control giant orange glow-worm type creatures. I decided to ommit that part of the dream from this story.) Anyway, the story is basically an AU and (like the real Escaflowne), it centers around the relationship (sometimes good, sometimes bad) between Van and Hitomi. It also has some fun actions scenes thrown in there.
The first chapter is written, edited, and ready to be posted, but I'm not going to post if for a while. I've decided that keeping my readers waiting for over a year, like with The Shinobi, is a generally not so great idea. So, I'm going to get the first 3 or 4 chapters written and edited so that I have somewhat of a cushion for being lazy, busy, and/or forgetful and not getting the next chapters written. I hope to start posting this story before the end of summer break, but we'll see how that goes.

Moonless Night:

4/30/07 - This is an Escaflowne oneshot about Van and Hitomi when they were younger. And no, it's not an AU. I already have some of it written, but not much. Watch for this story in the future.

Dreams and Delusions

12/28/07 - This is a new Escaflowne idea I had. I haven't really figured out how to describe it without giving away everything yet. However, I can tell you that it's an absolutely brilliant idea and (hopefully) will be an absolutely brilliant fanfic. (It's an AU, by the way)

Christmas Wishes

12/28/07 - I posted the first chapter for this 3 or 4 days ago. The idea struck me in the middle of the night and I just had to write it. It's your pretty standard Hitomi on Earth missing Van terribly story, but there's a twist! It takes place at Christmas! Ok, I know, not much of a twist. As I said, it's pretty standard and you've probably read a thousand like it. Still, I never get tired of those stories, so I'm hoping you guys don't either.
And maybe there will be more twists later! Who knows. I sure don't. I think there are about two out of twenty stories I'm in the process of writting/have ever written where I actually have any sort of outline and this is not one of them.

Moon in a Cup

12/28/07 - Posted the intro to this one a while ago. It's not that interesting so far, seeing as I've just quoted the book and said, "I'm gonna write something about this" (more or less). However, it will be pretty and sparkley and shiney, so stay tuned . . . .
(It's a Tithe/Valiant/Ironside fic that takes place at Kaye's coffee shop)
