Update.

Mum has had her op, it went well although she feels 'mutilated' though apparently that's quite normal. She had an allergic reaction to the dressing but they changed it so that shouldn't be a problem, but they;ll be checking tomorrow to be certain, and she'll be getting her stitches out on Friday. Still waiting on the histology results, but as this was a "just to be 100 certain we got it" op, we don;t anticipate anything in that, just hoping for no unpleasant surprisers there...

I and my mum cannot thank you guys and girls enough for all the support and messages of hope you've all sent...big, big snugs for you all...and remember, I take bunny and story requests, so if you have an idea you want help with or a story you'd love to see written, don't be scared to ask and I'll see what my Muses and I can do...:)

UPDATE.

Well, there is good news and bad news regarding my mother.

The bad news is that it is a form of cancer and my mother will be undergoing a mastectomy, the surgical removal of a breast. The good news is that it is what is termed DCIS, or ductal carcinoma in situ. In plain English it means that it is a form of cancer, in one of my mother's ducts, but it is non-invasive, it has not breached the duct and extended into the surrounding tissue. It does need to be removed, or it could become invasive, but at this stage it is not life threatening and the risk of return is one in four. Mum will likely be monitored more often to watch out for this. Once the mastectomy is done, that should be it. she won't need radiation or drugs, it was found in time. Her operation will take place on the 23rd October.

As you can all imagine, this is a great relief to the whole family. Once again, let me extend our great gratitude to everybody who prayed for Mum and exended their best wishes. Your continued support and encouragement, prayers and thoughts have been much appreciated.

Once again, thank you all so, so much for your kindness, understanding, and support during this stressful time.

UPDATE.

My mother got a letter today asking her to go back to the hospital on 08/10/09. She is trying to reassure me (and herself) that they just want to give her the all-clear, but she is fooling nobody, least of all herself. The hospital are not going to ask her to travel the thirty-odd miles to the hospital just to tell her she's clear, so I am assuming some cancerous cells have been found. I will be going back to visit her for just over a wek in two days, and will be being strong for her.

What this will do re: my writing I do not know. I may lose myself in fan fiction, and turn out more, to keep my mind off it, or I may lose all inspiration and write less or nothing at all. Can I ask a favour of any who read this? Could you send me a PM or email with a message of support for my mother? People did this eight years ago when she had pleurisy and it cheered her up and put a smile on her face. She was very touched to receive best-wishes messages from people who didn't now her and God knows, she needs something to smile about.

Both my mother and I are Christians. If you are Christian (or any other faith) could you please add my mum to your prayer list, and if you are agnostic/atheist/no faith could you think of her and keep your fingers crossed for her?

I found out three days ago that my mother has two areas of pre-cancerous cells in her breast..it may even be cancerous as there are two distinct spots close to each other. She's having an op to remove a quarter of her breast in 2 weeks...if any cancerous cells are find she'll lose the rest of the breast (right) and the lymph nodes under the arm in a procedure known as a radical mastectomy...so if I don't answer reviews, PM's or seem cursory, my apologies...life's kinda biting me bad at the mo...and I really feel like shit at the moment. I am, so fucked up right now I don't know what I'll feel like from one moment to the next...

I was just reading the profile of Dancinglemur on this site, and was looking through her views on slash and TF genders (which make a heck of a lot of sense) and decided I may as well explain my main TF-gender-theory, hoping I can do so as well as she. (I say ‘main’ because I play in more than one version of the 07 Movieverse, but more about those sub-verses later.) So, here I go!

As Dancinglemur and other people have succinctly pointed out, as TF’s are a non-biological entity, the concept of ‘gender’ as we know it doesn’t make a lot of sense, but here’s my main take.

1) The distinction of ‘mech’ and ‘femme’ in my TF-verse is the closest translation TF’s can get to explain to pitiful humans the difference between Sparks that are strong enough to support a smaller Spark created by the energy created by a merge of two Sparks. The excess energy creates the potential for a new Spark in all merges, but only if a Spark is strong enough to support that new Spark is a sparkling created. Such strong Sparks are very rare, but because they can support this new Spark, the nearest way it can be described to a two-gender race, whose youngsters are (well technically speaking) parasites on their mother for their first 9 months such as humans is to describe these strong Sparks as ‘femme.’

2) I am too lazy to think up a new system for TFs for having offspring and I’m comfortable what is what is familiar to me. Clinging on to the mech and femme distinction keeps ME happy, plus means I have an ‘anchor’ that means I don’t have to use too much story space to explain TF breeding. Sparkmerge is complicated enough, explaining which partner carries and why would eat up so much story time it would risk getting boring IMHO, especially for regular readers of mine, as I would write anything but sequels as though for someone new to my ‘verse, as some people may see a later story of mine first.

3) One thing I have a different opinion on to Dancinglemur is her connection with few femmes meaning they would be perpetual breeding machines, for two reasons.

a) I was introduced to the TF universe by the 2007 Movie, which is why so many of my stories (as in, almost all) are set in that Verse. In that verse, they had, for millennia, the All Spark to do their Spark-bearing for them.
b) As such long-lived beings, they could probably stick to one sparkling every ten years if they chose, and still make everyone around them happy. Of course, if the war got to a stage where too many deaths occurred that could be a problem, and might be as 07 Starscream seems determined to keep the war going.

Well, that’s my version of the TF-‘verse, I’m not saying it makes other verses wrong, everyone’s view of the TF-verse is different, just explaining where I’m coming from.

Also I have no problems with what could be termed slash/femslash or stories with multiple partners in..though if you've read many of my stories, you'll know that already. Love is love, who cares what gender (or number) are involved, especially where robots are concerned?

I also think it is onlty fair that I give you all an idea of what is currently going on with my unfinished stories. I regret to inform that all of my unfinished Pokemon stories are indefinately stalled as I currently cannot gear up the incentive and enthusiasm to continue them. I have not abandoned them, I am sure I will finish them sometime, but you may have to wait some time.

On the Transformers stories I can be more hopeful, I am currently holding off on new stories and concentrating on completing the rather large amount of in-progress stories, but different situations apply to different stories, so consult the list below for details. As other projects change and are completed, and as ideas pop up in my fevered brain, some of these notifications will change, hopefully moving up in priority, so watch this space!

AllSpark, Go! - Currently stalled but being worked on and should soon be updated. Priority - Low.

Dilemma - Still being worked on and not stalled, will be updated once I have cleared some of my other stories. Priority - Low.

Hunting Party - Currently stalled, no idea when it will be completed. Priority - Low.

On The Naming Of Seekers - Waiting to be completely rewritten. Priority - Low.

Writer Silver_fox_trot has asked - and received my permission - to continue the story started in the second of "Sam's Snippets." Thus she will be reposting the original Snippet, but continuing the story. She and I will both be continuing it but each taking it in different directions. This author is NOT plagiarising as we have discussed it and I have given full permission for her to do so, but she is the only one who has such permission.

Recently I have received (thankfully only a couple of) reviews and PM's that have quite rudely told me to hurry up with the frequency of my updates. I am saddened by this, as these people are obviously under the illusion that all I have to do all day is sit and write, or be lazy. This is not, as most of you know, true. I am 35 years old, and as such, have work and domestic issues at work in my life.

Not only do I have real life issues and concerns which occasionally bites me on the aft hard enough to keep me away from my writing for weeks at a time, no matter how hard the plot bunnies bite, but both I and my Muses have off days, and we both like to have breaks and holidays. Please respect this, and do not chivvy me or pester me if I haven't written for a while. Asking if I'll be updating this or that story any time soon is acceptable: telling me to hurry up or scolding me for not updating quickly enough for your tastes is not. Also, being rude about it anonymously is just bad manners.

Thanks for kind comments, additional bunny ideas (credit will ALWAYS be given for this) and for pointing out errors, in either plot, spelling, or just dumbaft mistakes (or mistakes that I, as a Brit, make about America or American systems.) ConCrit is good, and sometimes a writer's best friend.

Over 2 years ago, I found I have Asperger's Syndrome. So if you find some of my stuff strange or off the wall-that's probably why! And aspies tend to have obsessions. My latest and current greatest is the 2007 Transformers movie. I am currently archiving a LOT of Transformers movieverse-based fan-fic, so if that's your thing, take a gander at my stories! Be aware that yes, I write fluff, smut, slash, het and pretty much everything in between.

I also sometimes, especially if your request spawns a bunny that bites me hard enough, take requests. Just be aware I do not write excessive violence, protracted torture, alternate universes featuring evil Autobots, or non-con. I dislike writing ongoing angst and am a bit of a bugger for happy endings.

There are also certain pairings (in a sexual context) I am reluctant to do except as crack pairings as without a crack element I cannot see them being consensual. These would include (but would not neccesarily be restricted to) SamxStarscream, BumblebeexStarscream, SamxMegatron, MikaelaxMegatron, SimmonsxStarscream, and similar such pairings. This does not mean you can't ASK for these pairings, just that you may not get them, or may not get them with a sexual element, or there may be a sexual element, but the story would be crack.

Non-sexual pairings are different: "Delta Angel" involves Starscream and Annabelle Lennox but is innocent. I like writing fluff, but don't get many ideas. If you want a fluff pairing, go right ahead and ask!
