Author has written 6 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh, and Kyou Kara Maou. 14th of July, 2008: Name: Chantelle Yuuri/Wolfram... (spoilers warning) I am going to take this opportunity to explain my views of the whole seme/uke thing with them. I've been getting several reviews saying, 'I want Yuuri to be seme! Then he can go perverted on unsuspecting uke!Wolfie...YEEEEE!' Well...I'd have to disagree... To me, Yuuri and Wolfram haven't got a specific uke/seme relationship. Because their relationship isn't just about who's on bottom, true? ITFOA is not about getting them into each other's pants, okay? There are PLENTY of those out in the fanfiction world...I thought that writing a fanfic about how their deep friendship blossoms into a deeper love makes it more...realistic. More sweeter, and not as shallow. I mean, sure, there'd be sex eventually...EVENTUALLY. You can't just have them jumping from friendship to sex buddies in two chapters. Love doesn't work like that! Especially since Yuuri's such a wimp. He's still not used to the idea of being bi or homosexual, so it would take a lot of time before he became accustomed to the fact. Not to mention his mind's so used to pushing Wolfram's affections away, right? If you really want to look at a seme/uke relationship between them, I'll discuss it then. Since everyone seems to want Wolfram to be ukeish, I'll explain why he's not going to be. I think my main reasons for that is because he's not weak. The ukes you see in yaoi Animes (Such as Level C, which I haven't actually seen but have heard a lot about) are spineless. They don't have much flare to them at all; they're quite weak and submissive to their seme!lover. They're really, really girly, too. Wolfram is not a spineless, weak or submissive person! He has a lot of flare to his character; he's possessive, he's strong-willed and passionate, which aren't the traits of an uke. He is determined to win Yuuri, but not to the point where he forces himself on him, either. So, is he uke, or seme? I can definitely see him as an uke on an occasion such as their wedding night, since Yuuri would be nervous and all. But, after that, I think he'd be seme most of the time. And yet, Wolfram is not as manly as a regular seme, but he certainly is not as feminine as a regular uke, see? Now, onto Yuuri. I really can't picture Yuuri as a seme, overly-possessive, perverted guy. Like, seriously. xD Like...think about it for a moment. Let's get Anime!Yuuri into our minds and picturing him acting perverted like that... Um...just a tad out-of-character, guys? xD SERIOUSLY! Yuuri isn't like that. xD At the start of KKM Yuuri would have made a decent uke, but he's matured a lot over the series. And, since ITFOA takes place after the end of the series, he's going to be mature. He's not going to be ukeish and weak, because Yuuri is a strong person. But, I see Wolfram as someone who is stronger. You can't really give them a seme or uke classification because their relationship does not work like that. There's nothing clear about who's which because it doesn't matter. I'm NOT going to make Wolfram an uke, because he's not that girly, he's not a weakling, and he's more possessive then Yuuri. I don't like it when Wolfram is portrayed as a spineless female. He has a lot of flare to his character. He's manly because he's physically strong, and girls find him appealing, yes? He's also, in a sense, just as mature as Yuuri. I'm NOT making Yuuri into a possessive, overly-jealous, perverted seme. His character isn't like that at all. He's kind, understanding...he doesn't assume the worst in suspicious situations, because he believes there's always a reason someone does something. Like, with Conrad betraying him...Yuuri believed that there was a reason behind it all, no matter how much he was hurt by Conrad's harsh words at the time. Now, let's examine Yuuri and Wolfram's relationship. They care about and trust each other unconditionally. If Yuuri cries, he does it in front of Wolfram. When Wolfram cried, he did it because Yuuri is leaving him. Their relationship is VERY deep, so deep that to have them jumping into each other's pants would make it more shallow. Love is a very key factor in their relationship, and the lust will come later. Sure, in episode 65, Wolfram sounded quite lustful, but he hasn't done or said anything like that at any other stage. He also doesn't force himself upon Yuuri because he wants to be certain Yuuri is ready, so he takes things slow. That's why their relationship is progressing rather slowly in ITFOA. Because that's what happens in a relationship like theirs, with the steady change from friendship, to brotherly, to something deeper and romance. Things go very slowly in these sorts of situations because it's REALISTIC. They also have a lot of respect for each other, and here comes the key difference between Yuuri/Wolfram and Conrad/Yuuri. Conrad admitted towards the start of the Anime that if Yuuri died, he would die, too. Let's remember that Yuuri only recently came into Conrad's life - the one that holds Julia's soul, the woman that Conrad loved - and that's what you do for someone you love/loved. The difference between friendship and romance...In a deep, trusting friendship, you would offer your life for them. Later on in the series, Conrad states that he would give up his life for Yuuri. I think the feelings he had for Yuuri at the start due to the fact that Yuuri held Julia's soul fades away into a brotherly-protective thing. Halfway through the series, at that infamous cliff scene with Yuuri and Wolfram, Wolfram admits that if Yuuri died, he would die with him. See, there you have it: the difference between friendship and love. Friendship - you would die FOR them; Romance - you would die WITH them. That's how deeply in love Wolfram is with Yuuri. When people make that sort of admission to him, Yuuri is stunned. And since then, Yuuri's care and trust towards Wolfram increased greatly. Proof of this is shown in episodes 56 and 57, which are my favourite episodes in the entire series. Simply because it demonstrates how much Yuuri cares about Wolfram. Wolfram gets kidnapped, and Yuuri freaks out. However, on normal occasions he organises to have he and his advisers to assist, but the moment he realises that it's WOLFRAM that's been kidnapped...He doesn't think rationally. He just goes after him on his own! (dreamy sigh) And when Yuuri found Wolfram, he was relieved to find that Wolf was alive. And Wolf was angry that Yuuri had followed him alone, and Yuuri admits that it was a spur of the moment sort of thing. Wolfram acts all frustrated that Yuuri had followed him, but deep down, he's glad that he isn't alone, and that Yuuri cares enough to follow him. Cute, ne? THAT'S WHY HAVING THEM JUMP INTO EACH OTHER'S PANTS RUINS HOW DEEP THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS! Ugh, honestly...Like, sure, Yuuri had a wet dream about Wolfram. That made me grin like a chesher cat, but it was a dream! Guys have that tendency to have wet dreams, right? They're fantasies; it doesn't mean Yuuri's going to suddenly rape Wolfram or something. And, of course, like every fangirl, reading lemons is something I do...as long as there is an interesting plot and CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Otherwise it's too much like a porno. x.O So, to sum everything up, I'm not making an uke!Wolram because it's out-of-character, I'm not making a perverted, possessive seme!Yuuri because it is VERY out-of-character, I'm not basing their relationship around lust and sex because their relationship needs to develop and deepen, and things will progress slowly in my fanfic. ITFOA, as I said, is not going to have them going from friendship to sex in 2 chapters, okay, guys? (sigh) Don't think I'm being mean! O.O I actually laugh when I get reviews saying stuff like, "Wee! Girly uke!Wolf and possessive!Yuuri", but I don't want people to get the idea into their heads that that's how ITFOA is going to progress, because it's not. I don't want to disappoint anyone. If you guys want to read a fic about seme!Yuuri and uke!Wolfram and them having really hot sex, you'll have to find another fanfic. ...Well, that got rather long, hehe. o.o;; Shuichi/Yuki vs. Tohma/Yuki... (spoilers warning, and mostly me just defending Seguchi from Shuichi/Yuki fans without making myself look like a Tohma/Yuki fan) Well, I've felt the desire to express my opinion on these two pairings since I've recently watched the English version of Gravitation, so I shall! Okay, I am getting rather tired of seeing all of the Shuichi/Yuki fans bad-mouthing Seguchi. This is simply because I am tired of people thinking that Seguchi loves Yuki in a romantic sense. After watching the show more then 3 times now, I really can't see how Seguchi could love Yuki like that... The Shuichi/Yuki fans get all angsty because Seguchi starts trying to break Shuichi and Yuki up when it seems that Shuichi is creating a lot of pressure on Yuki and is affecting his well-being. He was supportive of their relationship up until that point, true? If he loved Yuki romantically, wouldn't he be more opposed to their relationship from the very beginning, not just because Yuki starts coughing up blood? I don't think Seguchi meant, 'I love Yuki in a romantic sense' during that scene with Aizawa. He was angry that Aizawa would have upset Yuki and threatened his career, so of course he would have wanted to do something about it. Yuki is the most important person to him in the world. People are allowed to care about a single person more then anything else without wanting to make-out with them, yes? After all, Seguchi was with Yuki when he shot the other Yuki. He was with him at the most impacting point in his life, and he wants to take care of Yuki and make sure he never gets hurt again. And, let's not forget that SEGUCHI IS MARRIED TO YUKI'S SISTER. They're brother-in-laws. It's almost like a paternal love, but it seems deeper then that, yet not in the romantic sense. Seguchi wants to make Yuki happy, and if it looks like Shuichi was causing Yuki stress, he'd want to break it off between them. When Yuki disappeared the same day that he and Shuichi had that date, whose fault do you think it would look like for the guy's disappearence? Of course Seguchi was going to suspect that Shuichi did/said something to upset him. I adore Seguchi's love for Yuki. I think it's a very special thing, and to have people ridicule Seguchi because of it just angers me. I also don't believe that Yuki loves Seguchi romantically. He's never given any inclination that he does, and, in fact, it seems as if he gets frustrated sometimes over the way Seguchi worries about him. But no matter how frustrated he may get, it's not like he tries to remove Seguchi from his house when he comes over to visit. He's perfectly capable of doing so (He's thrown Shuichi and his sister out when he was really ticked off at them), but he doesn't. Yuki doesn't show his love very well, but he does care a lot for Seguchi - NOT ROMANTICALLY - because the guy was there for him when he shot the other Yuki. I really love their relationship, but it isn't the lovey-dovey kind. Yuki loves Shuichi romantically. "The truth is, I want to be with you." And Shuichi, quite obviously, loves Yuki romantically. Finally, at the last part of episode 13 with Seguchi and Yuki...it confused me for a while when you see Seguchi's upset expression when Yuki says he's going back home to Japan. I've been contemplating it for a little while, and I did question Seguchi's feelings for a while...but, it doesn't signify that he's disappointed that Yuki's going back to Shuichi. I think it's more that Seguchi is worried that Yuki will be alright from now on - after all, Seguchi found him visiting the other Yuki's grave. Just a tad worrying, yes? I think Seguchi realises that Yuki will be okay with Shuichi, though...he's just always going to be wary. So, I don't think Shuichi/Yuki fans have much reason to hate dearest Seguchi. I'm more of a Seguchi fan then a Yuki fan (Well...I'm a Ryuichi fan first and foremost, but let's not get into that xD), so maybe I analyse Seguchi too much...but, I don't think so. I think I'm correct in saying that Seguchi cares about Yuki non-romantically. Of course, I can understand the fans gettting angry that Seguchi starts trying to break up Shuichi/Yuki. Well, think about it - the most important person in the world to you starts coughing up blood from stress caused by his lover. What would YOU try and do, hm? And so, that is all I have to say on that matter... Additional Stuff... Random: Me: | |||||||||
