Who is the third who walks always beside you?
When I count, there are only you and I together
But when I look ahead up the white road
There is always another one walking beside you
Gliding wrapt in a brown mantle, hooded
I do not know whether a man or a woman
But who is that on the other side of you?
T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land, "What the Thunder said"

Well, um, hello! I'm Tekli, and this is my bio (if you haven't noticed).

There's really not much to say about me, I guess... I like to write, but my muse (BOB - beta omicron beta) hates me. I like to read. I used to be a die-hard sci-fi/fantasy fan, but the genres are beginning to bore me. Now, I'll read anything interesting and well-written. I like anime and manga (and pocky). I play piano, violin, tennis, and field hockey, not necessarily well. I love science, particularly genetics and quantum mechanics, and math, the more esoteric the better. I am a ginormous language nerd, am fluent in English (heh), and am learning Latin, Attic Greek, French, and Japanese. Ben (www.fanfiction.net/~evilsockmonkey) is my wonderful friend from school. I'm on Gaia as Sessha42.

I am a confirmed Episcopalian. I see no reason for me not to be happy. I have a nasty little tendency to obsess... The self-sacrificing hero appeals to me, and turns me into a hopeless fangirl. Oh, and my theme song is "The Apologist" by REM.

Now, for something completely different...

My writing. Um, I write a lot of one-shots, drabbles, tiny little vignettes, yadda yadda yadda. I am no good at plots. Whenever I have to get something done in a story, it is... awkward. I have a Harry Potter multi-chapter plot-oriented fic, and I actually like it, but it's not something I have any motivation to work on. I obsess, but my obsessions fade, and I'm not nearly as into Harry Potter as I was when I began that story. (Which is why I've indefinitely stopped posting on theforce.net boards.) I prefer to write little character pieces, full of angst and demented symbolism. Recently I've fallen in love with the drabble.

I've dabbled in Star Wars, Harry Potter, Tales of Symphonia, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Rurouni Kenshin fanfiction, but very little of it should ever see the light of day. I read (or have read) Star Wars, Matrix, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride, Ender's Game, Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy (X and Tactics Advance), Golden Sun, Shaman King, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragon Ball Z, Weiss Kreuz, Juvenile Orion, Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach, and Trigun. I'm currently most active in Rurouni Kenshin, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Tales of Symphonia.

Oh, and if something I've written seems to be pure, mindless fluff, it probably isn't. Several of my stories are like that, such as Soft. It can be read (and hopefully appreciated) as a cute little romance fic, but that's really not what I intended when I wrote it. (I rarely say what I intended, though, especially on things so short.)

Upcoming fics? I'm a very spontaneous author, so I honestly have no idea... expect fics in Tales of Symphonia. Maybe even a bit of RuroKen or FMA, if I'm feeling brave. Or some stuff from school. I'm trying to write a Colloyd epic at the moment, but that's still rather tentative.

Fic status (if anyone is reading this, I love you):
Datta - prologue complete
This is the 'Colloyd epic' I've been mentioning. It chronicles Lloyd's journey with Colette to get rid of the Exspheres. I don't want to begin posting until I finish it, which will (hopefully) be by the end of the school year. 3/31: Blech. I was rereading what I had last night, and realized the two chapters I had written were rather OOC and... pointless. So I scrapped those, and now I'm working on a new first chapter that jumps into the action more quickly and with less strange introspective!Lloyd.

...that went on a lot longer than I intended it to. Woot. Let's hear it for rambling...

But the best thing you've ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously
It's only life after all... yeah...
