Author has written 2 stories for Legend of Zelda.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.

NEWS FLASH (01-31-09)

Writing on Dusk has re-commenced!! I am currently in the middle of writing the next chapter of Dusk and am very happy about it. When will this be posted you may ask? I haven't a clue yet, deeries. I believe I will begin posting chapters to FF.net again when I have managed to write enough chapters that I am satisfied I will be well on my way to finishing Dusk. I have some ideas playing around in my head for later chapters, but I am still quite unclear how I will wrap things up. Not that it matters at this juncture because Dusk is only in the beginning stages of the story on FF.net. I'll just keep writing and we'll see how it goes. :)

I also have my next story in the works which is actually further along than Dusk is at this point. I am VERY excited about this story. I am not saying one thing to anyone about this story. It will be a surprise!! ((smirk)) All I will say is that it IS another Zelda story. I most likely will not post any of it until I get Dusk pretty well wrapped up. We'll all just have to wait til then and see what it is and how it's received. hehehe.

Please feel free to send me messages and encouragement. It will really help me get going. I promise! I just need a boost. :)

poverty and poor amusements (01-26-09)

Deeries,

Is there any one of you who actually reads my profile page? I am wondering if there is anyone at all still interested in me writing more stories. I should like to write some more, but I keep promising and not being able to deliver. My life has been rather chaotic. I suppose that is just how things sometimes go. I have recently printed out my works in progress to read over them. I believe they are things I wouldn't mind reading myself when they were done. It's hard to say though. I have pretty terrible self-esteem. I also tend to think I'm not good at much and when I do something correct, it isn't any big deal. :)

Anyway, sorry about the fishing. It's difficult for me to be self-motivated. A few nice messages would help...that is...if anyone is paying attention to lil 'ol me anymore. hehe.

Love for the deeries,

Greetings! I am Becca.

That is all the information I care to provide about myself at this time. If you really wish to have a better understanding of my personal self, please consult the song lyrics for "Hairy Trees" by Goldfrapp. In fact, just go listen to that song because it is terrific! Also, if you don't understand the innuendo within that song (or any other Goldfrapp song for that matter), please revisit it when you're older. ;)

Seriously, if you are just a little bit internet savvy, it should be easy to find me hanging around other places too. AKA: MySpace, Facebook, not AIM...if you want that information, send me a message. _

Although my creative writing is a little bit rusty at this time mostly due to recent lack of practice (I used to write on my own all of the time), I am very much looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and this time for other people's amusement and hopefully critiques. I will be posting my first original story as soon as I have written a few more chapters.

I am but another hopeless romantic. My tastes are risque. I will most likely not be writing many stories that are below rated M. I also enjoy trying to cover many facets of genre rather than just sticking to drama and romance. I am hoping to hone my skills in this regard at some point, though I realize that some of my writing may be inevitably stuck with the two aforementioned categories.

My policy on flames (because everyone has to have one) - I tend not to respond to flames with much more than a response of how I do not respond to flames. ((snicker)) I believe flaming is a ludicrous way of trying to rouse an author into becoming angry and to no real effective means. At least, it makes me do little in response to it. (I do find it quite hilarious and will laugh.) However, I respond VERY well to CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM in which someone very calmly criticizes my work without being devastatingly ugly about it. Even if it is harsh, you can criticize my work without being shrewish or gratuitously mean. Then I will consider very carefully what you have said and will make an executive decision as to whether or not to utilize your criticism. In any event, constructive criticism will always elicit a response from me (generally in the form of email if I can find it or you care to provide it) and I profusely thank anyone who provides me with this sort of thing.

Some notes for you grammar Nazis - I love literature. I love a cleanly written and smoothly read novel. However, I also recognize that I may be lacking from time to time in my own demonstration of completely and perfectly flawless grammar. It is not that I mind you pointing out that my writing is flawed, it is that I know you are rarely perfect as well. You see, I must first read your writing to make an educated guess at whether you have a firm enough grasp of completely and perfectly flawless grammar to be critiquing and coaching me in the art of grammar. I do not make this statement to be snide or mean. I am simply stating why I may discard some of your critiques. By all means though, please tell me if you think I've done something glaringly offensive. I do consider your comments, and it helps me to improve. As a final note to this tidbit, I would like to add that I have only just begun writing again after several years of taking time off from creative writing. I really love to write, and I believed that fanfiction would be a good inspiration to help me begin writing again after a very, very, very, very long, bland dry streak. Therefore, I expect for my writing to be somewhat flawed even though I do edit it. I still find verb disagreements, dialogue that I haven't punctuated correctly, occasional typos, and plenty of other errors. My stance is that this IS fanfiction and not the 'great american novel.' Authors who write professionally have professionally paid editors. ((snicker)) I do not.

((sigh)) And a note on slang - Sometimes people decide to comment that slang terms should not be used in stories. I however, beg to differ. Without slang and written dialects, some great classics would never have come into being. Take for examples Catcher in the Rye or Huck Finn. Therefore, in my mind it is not faulty or erroneous to use everyday language and slang terms in stories. P.S. - I CANNOT STAND Huck Finn!! LOL!

At this time my current interests in fanfic are strictly for Teen Titans and Zelda stories. I may change my mind later to cover some animes or other shows/media that I love. I do have a Teen Titans story in the works, but I haven't posted any of it yet.

Just B E T W E E N Friends - This is a Zelda based story I am working on collaboratively with Fire Faerie2 and posted under her pen name. I didn't want her to kill her marvelous story when she began to lack some inspiration, so I have picked it up at Chapter 12, titled "Sandpaper Kisses." Chapter 12 is half written by me and half written by Fire Faerie. After that, the chapters up through 21 have been written by me and titled and edited by Fire Faerie because I wanted her to retain a fair amount of creative control over the idea for this story which was conceived in HER head. This story contains the first of my writing posted to fanfiction. It should give you at least a taste of my writing style if you care to read it.

update on notes to JBF (1-26-09) - I noticed this information was sort of old and crude, so I decided to change it. JBF has never been finished. I think the readers did not enjoy the direction it took at all after I stopped writing. It is still good up until a point. I didn't do the most bang-up job of it that I could've. Sorry for that. I think it's a nice read anyway, but someone should really finish it. If anyone is interested at all, maybe they should fire off some e-mails to Fire Faerie2 and tell her to get with it. I would finish it if there was time on my hands to do it and she would let me, but I think she's honestly put out with me for not finishing it back when I was writing for her. Sorry girlie! I have no hard feelings, I hope you don't either. ;)

The candle or the mirror that reflects it."
