UPDATES:

April 16th 2007: Just so everyone knows, I will be continuing the Art Of Meditation here shortly. I apologize for the unannounced 2 year sabbatical. I've moved at least twice, completed my degree and finally working on my bachelors, which I should have in December. A few close friends have inspired me back into writing. First off, I am correcting the dicrepencies that I have found in the Art of Meditation, and then I will post new chapters. Chapter 8 is nearly complete, Chapter 9 needs more and some working yet, and Chapter 10 is also underway. I changed my Pen Name to Okira Soudai instead of Misao M Shinomori because of how Okira's character has grown and changed in the last two years, in addition to the uniqueness of it. Okira is actually a very complex character, and she is usually known as Chocho (Cho for short) Soudai, but Okira hasn't a last name at the moment, so I just combined the two.

Just checking in, and letting everyone know that I will be continuing AOM here soon.

May 3rd 2007: Corrections are taking longer than expected, plus I've been reading the Jinchuu arc, and thus has given me insight where it was laking before. I haven't decided in what order I will update. I hope to have all the corrections made within a week, and hopefully printed out and descrepencies fixed before I leave for Jamestown next week. Thus, I might massively update all the chapters and post chapter 8. Some aspects have been brought to my attention through peer review, and some of the schematics have changed, but nothing too major (originally takes place in spring, now in autumn...etc.) Sorry about the delay!

August 20th 2007: Corrections are in a couple of friend's hands at the moment, but Chapter 9 is complete. I changed my e-mail address and homepage to reflect the story (stories) that will continue from the basic concept. I have several ideas to keep it going, but I need to get over the chapter 11 hump that I am stuck on. WARNING, The Homepage WILL have Spoilers-It's an online acess for me so I can continue writing if I forget my jump drive Once again, I am sorry for the delay.

November 3rd 2007: The Corrected Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 is currently up. I just finished Chapter 9 and had it proof read by my fiancee. I had the first half written since last summer, but the second just came to me recently. I'm actually very proud of it, but I hope it makes sense for everyone else. I will be working on Chapter 10 in my spare time, and half of it is already written. I want to point out that the chapters are short because I want it to be more easier to read 5 page chapters rather than 25. Happy Reading!

January 11th 2008: Wow a new year already! I just graduated college last month, and I was in the final slog to the end. Thankfully I survived and I have my Baccalaureate of Sociology in hand, and happy to be done. Now I have to find a job. I apologize for the sudden hiatus that I took. Chapter 10 is currently on hold due to my computer with the file on it is dying, and me without a computer without a screen (My laptop is messed up) while I was away for the holidays. However, I have not stopped writing. Last week I was visting a friend who wanted to combine the universe from Art of Meditation with her own. Needless to say, it's been interesting, and I recieved a lot of feedback from the Fiance' and friends. The over arching story is complete, Now I just have to tighten down a few aspects and characters, and of course write it. In other news, I just finished up the Jinchuu arc of the manga, and it has inspired me with a couple directions that I can take with a few of Misao's and Kenshin's lines. The only thing I need to do now is sit down and write once my computer is fixed (the R.A.M. is dying). I will have it posted as soon as possible. Several new characters that will be involved are demanding my attention to flush out their character more, which is always entertaining. In addition, I am working a lot in the past, details between the dynamics of Misao, Aoshi and Okria, and what is happening after this story takes place between the ending and where my friend's and I's story picks up. Depending on how things go here, I may continue the story...but we'll see. Thank you to the readers and those kind enough to review! You are truely an inspiration! January 15th 2008: A few side stories have been occuping my mind: Aoshi's curiosity of American Government (due to the preliminaries today) and The Oniwaban mixes with "Rock Band". Don't know if either will come to reality, but just a couple of ideas in my head right now...

March 8th 2008: I apologize for the wait on the next chapter. I'm kind of trying to put together the next 2-3 chapters together at once. I have the overarching story, but the tactics of the mission are hanging me up a bit. I'm also 200 or so miles from my editors, which makes it difficult. I've bounced an idea off one of my concept people, but he hasn't gotten back to me on this. I have foud myself reading other's fanfiction hoping to find inspiration. As I told the concept person, I've watched too much Death Note in the last few days, which has really taken a toll on my writing. There's a scene 4-5 chapters further in that I'm dying to write, but I'm not there yet. sigh Anyway, I have 3 pages fully written, and the details of the mission, but, as I said the tactics are something I'm trying to work on. I will update as soon as I can. I promise! (I've taken into account my reviews and comments, and I am working on those intricate little aspects between Aoshi and Misao, but there is a tiwst in sight...which will make it all the more interesting! Thank you for the advise!)

March 20th 2008: I have completed the rough of chapter 11, and working on chapter 12. My Laptop is broken, so it makes it hard to write. However, A friend pushed me through it, and these were the hardest chapters for me to write. I still need to go back, give more detail, dialouge and such, but I've finally nailed down the components of the mission. I shouldn't have a block like this for a while, for there is another twist up the road, but that I already have a plan for. I should post them once corrections and such are complete. I have 2 versions of each chapter for some reason, so I need to sift through all of that. So, in saying that, please keep your eyes open for the next chapter(s)!

April 6th 2008: Upon the 3-year anniversary of AOM, I will be updating on the 9th in the late afternoon or evening. I just started a new job on Friday, but I am hoping that I can keep up this time. I'm dying to get to a couple of chapters, and as the story is reaching it's half-way point (I'm Serious!), I'm hoping to continue with it. I'm currently working on the rough for chapter 15, and I have to work out some blocking with chapter 16 and seeing how I want that to pan out. I'm hoping that the "filler" chapters aren't that boring since they are the lead-up to the major events. Anyway, I've updated chapters 1-6, and posted chapter 12. Chapter 13 is coming along nicely, and so is the memory I keep referencing (The thesaurus has been my best friend, and it's turning out VERY nicely. I am very pleased with it...just a few more wording things, and it should be done). :D

May 29th 2008: Like I said in my previous entry, I got a new job and my hours have doubled since then. I haven't been able to work on the story very much, but I am hoping that I will be able to continue, it just might be more sporatic. I'm also seeing things in my writing that I need to improve on. I'm hoping that Okira isn't a "Mary Sue", or that she's portrayed in such a way. She has her flaws, but I don't think that she has shown them yet. She is actually very stubborn, determined and compassionate to a fault (as you'll see in a later chapter). Just checking in, and saying "hi!" :)

July 7th 2008: I apologize for not updating, I am currently in the process of moving, and I will be getting married the week after next (in addition to working close to 40 hours a week). This is the reason for the delay, and that there have been hiccups along the way. I have Temporarilly set aside the "Art of Meditation" because I have barely had enough time to sleep let alone work on the story.

My computer I do most of my writing on is currently scattered across my bedroom floor, and I still need to clean up two more rooms before company comes tomorrow. Needless to say, it's going to get pretty hectic.

The characters have also have not been consistantly in my mind, probably because of everything that is going on.

I am truly sorry for the lack of updates, and I hope I can get somewhat back on track after the wedding and the move has been complete.

July 23rd 2008: I have been on hiatus from the story because of the mix of the wedding and work have put it currently on hold. In a way, it's been an outlet for me, and at the moment, I have a new facet for this that is in my husband. I'm hoping to work on it again soon, but I can't find the time at the moment. We were happily married on Saturday, July 19th 2008, and we are adjusting to living together, and it's been amazing thus far. In terms of the story, I'm hoping to pick it back up, but it'll be a while. In addition that we do not currently have internet. Sorry for the delays!

May 3rd 2009: I'm not Dead yet! I am working on the story, and I am planning on updating here soon, and maybe within the month. I've had a lot going on in my personal life, and It's beginning to slow down, and able to get back to my writing. Hang on for a bit longer, and you will see something, I PROMISE! Once again, I am truly sorry for the lack of updates...It will get better!

June 14th 2009: Art of Meditation is continuing, but I will post each chapter when I have a back-up in reserve. This will ensure that I will always have one to work on, and that I will continue. In the past, I have been posting chapters as soon as I completed them, which ran me dry for months on end. I'm working on the story when I have the chance to do so, and therefore it will continue. I promise!

September 27th, 2009: Believe it or not, I have been making strides in completing the next 5 or so chapters. I have finally ran chapter 17 by my friend (and editor), and I need to make more tweaks to it before I post (mostly with Misao's character and her state at the time). I am hoping to post within the next couple of weeks as I continue to roll. The hold up in the last few chapters has been that the original story and ending came immediately after Misao returned from Yokohama, but in the 4 years that I have been working on this, it has taken another (or several) twists, and I needed to finally decide wether or not just to end it or to continue the saga. In light of my recent "fun" with the chapters, I have decided to continue it, as that is where the story is headed towards. I am planning on writing the original ending in an "extras" chapter when I post the Epilouge. There, it will be most of my "liner notes", inspirations, ideas, character concept ideas and such.
